What is your average battery temp at idle? - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just wanted to know what people were getting in terms of temperature, i've not had the greatest of experiences with battery life with my Z1 although i know that some people have had great battery life, trying to get to the bottom of it and this is one of the things i'd like to know.
Cheers.

battery consumption problem caused by bad voltage handling?

so I downloaded somekind of battery widget that have graphic log on the voltage and I noticed that when my new optimus 4x's voltage jumped between high and low it cause the battery to drop rapidly... CMIIW, I can't help but feeling that this is very much like those happened at contemporary desktop CPU that constantly adjusting voltages, however with the bad efficiency one, not sure if this is LG's fault or Nvidia's, anyone here have article reviewing/explaining the Tegra 3 platform? CMIIW, the CPU is Nvidia's right? or is it somebody else's CPU?
anyone else noticed similar behavior? any suggestion on improving the battery life?
When root will come out, definitely will improve battery

only the moto raz maxx will last longer then 4h constant gaming.
alot for me is about 10 calls, 20-30 messages, wifi, data and sync on at all times. navigate during work, check rss feeds and email a couple of times / hour. play wordfeud and rumble with notifications.
maybe im not as heavy user as others but thats alot for me and i dont feel any change in batterylife from my meizu mx or htc desire. u get 2150mah battery in this phone, compared to meizu mx or desire with their 1500-1600mah but u also have double the performance and alot bigger screen, why would it last longer?
LG states that some apps cause battery drain. I have read it in some internal b2b document from LG site. One of the apps mentioned was poweramp. Don't know if problem is fixed with newest firmwares.

I reduced the backlight and after the update it looks okay.

REALLY bad battery life, is this normal?

Heya,
I've used my One for a few hours now, I'd say moderately heavy use (checked facebook/twitter, downloaded some apps, watched a few youtube video's, played Dungeon Hunter 4 for 30 minutes or so, checked flipboard).
I'm amazed by the poor battery life, especially since all the reviews were so positive. Will it get better? Could I have a faulty battery? This is nowhere near the 14 hours people have been talking about...

you can't tell yet. @Zepid, look for better battery stats xda edition and install it and post the screenshot for kernel and partial wakelocks, other and process.
It's hard to really tell with the default battery monitor, try BetterBatteryStats or GSAM from a full charge and go from there.
Also turn Power Saver on. It limits the CPU to 1.1GHz, and won't even affect gaming performance, or anything else for the matter except benchmarks. Click on the Power Saver option to customize what gets turned on/off.
You should check out the thread that talks about battery saving tips. It helps a lot and make sure you install a custom Rom such as trickdroid.
It's very battery efficient.

Don't forget that if you install a custom ROM, you'll need to root your One. That also means loosing your warranty

DH4 is a beast on battery in my experience. It is hard to play that game and not burn a ton of battery.
Anyway, when I don't play DH4 I still get 5 hours screen time. That's without power saver, auto sync disabled, and Lux adjusting screen brightness. I'm sure if I used power saver I'd get much longer.
Seriously, give it a couple of days!

I have found my battery improved after about a week of having my phone.
Graphic intense games like Dungeon Hunter 4 EATS the battery.
Thanks guys, the Power saving feature definately seems to help, and it's not slowing down the phone at all. I'll give it some time and see if the battery life improves.

I have to agree, my battery life is pretty poor. I'm going to give it a week and hopefully it clears itself out.

You should allow more time, at least 2 or 3 updates, to iron out the biggest bugs. All manufacturers need that time, apple en Samsung too.

Extremely bad battery life

I've been experiencing very bad battery life lately. Currently using PAC, I could lose 10% of battery in under 20 minutes of normal web browsing with the brightness set all the way to low. I'm underclocked and undervolted, battery health is good. I don't really know what's causing my media server thing to use so much battery but it's definitely chewing up more juice than normal. How am I supposed to fix this?
Stop media scanning.
On the Store there is an app called Rescan Media Root.
Media server drain ia usually caused by the sd scanning proccess, sometimes a bad file can cause it to go nuts and keeps the proccess alive, thus killing your battery.
Give it a go.

I will also try this, my phone is only two days old and the battery life on this device is absolutely horrible compared to my Samsung Galaxy Note 2, I will check back with you folks and let you know the results
It is horrible compared to a Note 2, even if you didn't have that bug.
Plus, CM, AOSP, and PAC, all of them don't have that great of a battery life compared to stock.
Say you can get a solid 5+ hours out of a stock rom with few tweaks, whereas on those buolds mentioned you could get 4h, with not so great idling times.

Obviously horrible compared to a note 2 since note 2 has a bigger battery and lower resolution screen?

and if its not rooted?
I'm trying it our now, report back in a day or so. This phone is bound to have worse battery life than the Note 2, it has 2 more cores, 2x more pixels, LCD screen, smaller battery, if you want great battery life go back to the Note or get a battery case. I didn't know that stock gives me more battery, maybe I should go back :/

Sony stock is very good rom to me. I will go to custom rom only if sony discontinued the updates, or sony makes the rom while drunk ( too much bugs, unstable... )
And, don't undervolt too much, -100mV is ok,
there's some test out there (not APQ8064), when undervolt too much, the processor will messed up the calculation, and re-calculate the process, wasting more battery and time. [this is applied to my old xperia arc]
If on Intel X86, I never get any issues/drawbacks from undervolting.
Sorry if I'm wrong, and sorry for my bad english.

i never said i had a custom rom, i went to install it, and it said i had to be rooted, and I'm not rooting my phone yet, thats why I asked if something similar was available for non rooted users.
Of course I'm not saying it's gonna get magically better but you should really give it more of a chance than two days a couple full charge cycles will help some, plus being new your prob setting up alot etc

thats definitely true, I know these batteries aren't supposed to have "memory" but should I do the full charge and drain with them?
I guess I'm under the assumption of it being newer and better technology then my Galaxy Note 2 I was coming from, I was expecting it to be right off the bat better.
thanks

Bad battery? So this type not worthed to buy?
Hey, the "rescan media server" app fixes the battery drain temporarily. How do I find out and delete the file that is causing my media scanner to keep running? I switched over to another ROM a few hours ago and media scanner is still taking a big chunk of my battery until I kill it. Do I need to reformat my card? Run anti virus?
Try this app. It is an android issue not an Sony issues. The mediaserver running all the time. This app will help. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.addz.mediascannerroot

Speculation for Nexus 4 battery life improvement

Got the Nexus 4 on release, so far it has been 8 months and never regreted buying it. Many people bash about the poor battery life of the N4, and praise about how awesome the note 2 battery is; it does makes me think twice about selling my N4 for a note 2. Before 4.3 I get a pretty decent SOT, on average about 4.5 hr. Sometimes it surprises me with SOT in the 6 hr range(attached pictures, before 4.3 update).
After updating to 4.3, like many other people, Ive experienced a battery improvement. Now on average, I get 5 hr + SOT. Im on stock everything, no custom roms or kernels. Another thing Ive noticed after the update is that the phone doesnt heat up as much, and it's this that I believe lead to battery improvement(less heat =more efficiency). This phone truly has a potential, and Im holding on to it, to see what it can do with the next update: Key Lime Pie.
Aha, and I don't suppose you could post this in this thread?

I dunno why, but sometimes it is awesome while other times it is not(3.5 to 4 hrs). I realize the battery life is much better when you don't use auto brightness. Here's another picture. Totally stock.

Possibly the BEST Screen On Time ever?

I've own the note 9 since it's release, and I've heard that the phones need to "calibrate" themselves to achieve their best battery life, so long story short, today I got this INSANE SOT
Pretty much an hour of SOT per every 10% of battery.
NO battery saving mode.
My screen is at WQHD
AOD off (I don't really need it)
Mostly WIFI
I'm using Swift Installer (all black with accents)
IMO I think this battery is an absolute beast. What do you guys thinks?
And yes, this was on a single charge. From 100% down to 4%
