We all know that the higher versions of Gear Manager, somewhere around 1.6, the non-Gear Apps disappear.
I was wondering if someone could have a Gear App that can launch Nova Launcher when one needs to access non-Gear Apps.
This could be very helpful since the newer versions of Gear Manager will be progressively better, so you dont want to be stuck at 1.5.
Nova Launcher Icon will be always there in the More Apps Section. I have never seen the Nova Icon disappear. Using Gear Manager 1.7
I'm also using 1.7. How is your Nova Launcher staying?
Are you using Null 23 ?
Your system apps will still appear.. If your using my rom novalauncher is a system app so it should still be there.

It doesn't appear after I launch Gear Manager on the phone. But the icons will stay until that happens.
Could it be because I installed your ROM over the NA6 ?
I also rooted the Gear before installing your ROM due to Recovery getting erased.
Move Nova to System/App/ rather than Installing over a File Manager. Make it a System App using Root Explorer, or TB.
My gear was stock, and I enjoyed side loading a few apps here and there until my latest GM update. .. and as we all know side loaded apps disappeared after that. All I did was root it, install SuperSU and side load the apps again. Voila.. they now appear and it works like a charm.

Jazon suggests NOVA shows on his GEAR, with phone on gear 1.7.
Is this possible based on your knowledge?

Will result in touchwiz being extinguished from your tab. Won't be running at the back after you delete it.

Anyone tried that without any problems? I have a gt with overcome 1.2.1 rom and kernel!
Which is the filename of the touchwiz i can delete?
I have adw already installed abd working.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk
If you set another launcher as default and then reboot, it shouldn't run the default launcher anyway.
And the name of the Touchwiz launcher is "TouchWiz30Launcher.apk".
Don't delete it, move it to /sdcard/ so you've got a backup.
You can also just freeze the appa instead of deleting/moving it. Use Titanium Backup or similar to freeze it and then it wont run.
Alternative if you want to remove you can also use SystemApp remover if you cant locate the correct apk.
maybe you can crash something. in P1000L (Brazil) tab, TV app doesn't work without touchwiz...
the phone app will not work without the touchwiz launcher
How to simpy freeze it?cant find its filename in titanium backup!
Uhm,are you sure that touchwize wont load on boot but just adw?

I dont like ADW but thanks anyway
I use "Go Launcher" with CM7 along with "Go SMS" and "Go Chat" which you can send free texts, files etc with Go Chat/ SMS. Never had any problems with it
I use touchwiz 4.5 or a full Golauncher environment when I'm on Cm7 but already tried this stock nexus launcher that was working fine as far as I've seen:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933517
Regarding all the stuffs included in or removed by the cwm zip I think it's better to extract the apk from it

I've installed the Launcher2.apk but I cant choose it :S It doesn't appear on the list ...
Put it in system/app?
I don't remember very well but if it says "application is not installed" (something like that,t'm french...) when you click on the apk then it has to be put in system/app.
Otherwise it's just that you have to press the big central home button of your phone after install, tick "choose by default" and choose this launcher.
Home switcher a nice app too to easily test launchers.

Hy everyone! I am very satisfied with my phone but I have one small problem.. When I download a new app the phone, or I am in the process of installing, the phone get very laggy for a couple of seconds and the apps on my home screen reload. They disappear and reappear in a second or two. Why is that happening? Also when I go into apps or widgets it gets a bit laggish when scrolling around.. Is that normaln for a stock ROM? I`m on stock JB,rooted.. And I did a factory reset after update to JB and manually installed all the apps..

Rolling back is not an option.. Do you have a ROM or kernel to recommend?
It's normal; the homescreen is just refreshing so it displays the shortcut for the app. (it auto-places one on install)
And about the lag, download "Advanced Task Killer" and kill the apps/processes, or use the stock one. ("Task Manager")

The task manager won't get you anywhere. Android handles processes not like crappy windows and the task manager thing is unnecessary as hell. Search for it.
For the rom/ kernel thing try it out yourself . There are many good and stable ROMs on here.

I rooted my gear and installed twrp. I am unable to check for updates via the gear manager. It says "Your Gear has been modified. Software updates are not available." How can I remove this status so I can update normally again while still keeping root?
I don’t think you can upgrade your gear ota if you already install twrp

Well that sucks. How can I update gear manager and the gear then? Copy the rom to the gear?
The null_ ROM always has the most up to date base. So, just install null_ and you're off and running. Opens up much more functionality as well. Current null_ version is 19.

I have a NULL backup but I found the screen too small to take any real advantage from it so I restored my stock backup. I know I can use the touchwiz launcher to go into stock with NULL but I didn't like that the button didn't bring me back to the home screen and all the extra applications it added that I couldn't uninstall because they were system apps. Maybe I should just flash back to pure stock and take twrp off or something although I would like twrp in case something gets messed up.

I think you can do some editing to remove the home button remap. I saw it somewhere in here in the forum but I was too lazy to do it and just restored stock.

I would at this point if it took me out of custom status but from the research I have done it doesn't look like that's possible unless I unroot and install stock. I guess I will just wait until the next major update and then flash it back then.
Download stock rom from the dedicated thread for stock roms and flash it with odin. As long as you dont root it/flash custom recovery you should be able to updata via gear manager.
