I've been reading a lot on these forums, and no one has seemed to address ways to improve battery life on the LG Revolution. I just got this phone a week ago and I've been averaging 13 to 14 hours of battery life with moderate to heavy use (applications, e-mail, texting, etc...).
Anyone have any tips or tricks to improve the battery life besides rooting it?
Is it worth rooting it now with Gingerbread rumored on the way?
Thank you all in advance.
personally..GB isnt available with Verizon yet..I would look for any leaks or anything that isnt officially supported..unless you wanna try it..turn BT off..use wifi when you can..turn screen brightness to 50 on the bar..try to look for battery saving apps on the marketplace..just a thought

I just got the Decrapified Rom on mine today, and am seeing some decently better battery life.(i used to get ~12hours anyway with some heavy usage)
Also...when I rooted and customized SetCPU a bit I saw much better battery life. I was able to clock down the CPU when the screens off, or when the battery is low, etc.
Just some thoughts for you

This helps battery life? I always thought wifi drained battery. But your saying wifi drains less battery than 4G? What about 3G?
Check your apps as well. I was watching my battery drop a percentage in literally minutes. I thought it was just the phone, and that I had to live with it, but in my case it was Go Weather!!
This app is EXTREMELY bad - drains battery insanely, and even when you configure it, it keeps popping back up in the running apps and goes to town draining your battery.
Apps like that can make a somewhat average battery life turn into an insanely bad situation.
13 to 14 hours with moderate to heavy use???
I'm lucky to get 10 hours without any use. I let it sit on a table overnight, and the next morning it was down to 28%.
Hey all
I'm happy with my phone, currently running wiui on it
I wanted to hear whats yours longest battery time ?
What ROM and kernel was used ?
Mine personally is for now 17 hours on a normal workday
running on stock 2.2 ... with miui (the last version) I had 6-7 hours :
I am on Django 0.5 with HP RC-11R and i am on 29% presently after 2days 14hrs...with mild to medium usage with little wi-fi, small usage of 3G and voice calls medium.....I am greatly happy....it all depends on how you keep the battery calibrated, system usage, charging cycle pattern and a few more....
It was almost the same with Topo's ROM, Blazing Dragon and also Thanatos 5.1....so it is a bit of care and great magic from our developers....
Hats off all you guys who are making LG O2X such a entertaining and stable device.
medium use (3g on, mail, facebook, twitter, google +, movies, some games, video calls) : 6-7hrs
hard use (wi-fi on, mail, facebook, twitter, google +, movies, lots of games, video calls, messeging, some apps, gps) : 3-3,5 hrs
Stock 2.3.4 20L
with medium use (3g always on or wifi if available; 30 min surfing; few smsing (around 10) and calling (30 minutes); no gps; 30 min gaming) leads to around 24 hours of battery life
I'm really happy with my cm kanged by temasek (#30) and vadonkas kernel (#12.jan)
kind regards

I did not know that Topo was doing CM7Kangs for LG O2X.....does he? can you give me a link?
With low use (some textmessages and 15min gaming, 2g and wifi) i get around 30hours (HP kernel v20o)
I once lasted 4,5days when i travelled to france. I don't know how but the battery life was much better over there. (stock v20b)

hello
Miui 1.12.30 and vadonka's kernel more than 2 days with normal use,
record time is 6 days on vacation, the phone was very rarely used that was on Miui 1.9.x and my UV vorkKernel variant.

Im running 15 hours on latest WIUI ROM
really want more hours.. tired of charging every evening and night
Realistically 15/20 hours is about right for a smartphone nowadays. Unless companies start making phones a bit thicker so larger batteries can go in them.
Unless you really edit the phone, underclocking etc, you wont be able to push more than 1-1/2 days out of the phone.
Can I recommend better battery stats app available either on the market or on xda. Helped me discover a few apps that kept running (partial wakelocks) all the time and therefore affected battery life.

I'm using Battery Monitor Widget AND SystemPanel Lite
I just envy the iPhone guys... I'm repairing iPhones in my spare-time, and the batteries arent any bigger than ours (1500mAh)
but they last 2-3 days, because of the way better battery management and optimized hardware
But when thats said, I would never leave this open-source world !
just look around, all the ROMs and free stuff we can get, they cant Muhahaha

We used widgets while they don't ! Muahahaha !
5 days, only 10 minutes of calls /day, with 3g off
Django 0.5 - FPS 0.3a1 (very smooth after fixing the old 0.3) and with medium use still 45% after 19h26m
With wiui 2.1.6
And LED blinking turned off I get 26 hours battery life! Awesome

My record is 2d 6h with Juice Defender, 3G on, managed by the app. But the lag caused when unlocking the screen is killing me.
ROM is v20m
with cyano 204 stable i do about 20 hours with about 40 messages, 10 minutes of gaming and 10 minutes on wifi and about 5 minutes of internet with 3g
Around 48 hrs. I didn't used it that much that day...:b Stock rom.
4 days with Gueste 2.1, 10min calls, 2G, 30 min wifi, some messages.
I was wondering. I looked everywhere and cannot find exact confirmation or Review. The 4.1.2 update is coming soon for the Optimus 4X and I read on 2-3 blogs that it'll apparently improve battery life. Is that true? Has anyone tried that themselves? From what I observe on my 4X that there are a couple of apps running in the system sucking up the battery. Will the future update fix this to extend its life? Sorry if this question was asked before and/or I've made a double post.

I'm an average user... Not much into games but I message a lot and play on YouTube use wifi and phone regularly... This is much improved for me over 10x
One day+?! Holy-- yeah that's surely an improvement to what I'm experiencing now. Is the phone running smoother as these blogs say? Any crashes/freezes or its a perfect charm. I'd just want to know what to expect...
Also, I've noticed that my phone tends to warm up from... almost everything. Is it still happening?
Edit: Sorry about this post... I rushed on asking this question without realizing that there's a Q&A section.. is there anyway to move the post? If not then I'll delete it.

Disabled them as in uninstalled them? And wow.. yeah that's surely a lot better than now. Better then my last phone.

My battery is still the same as that in v10f. I get about 3.5h of screen on time( mainly web browsing ) to reach 10%
How is the overall performance?

Depends on what you think is important. My phone is my "phone". I expect it to be as such. I can't imagine Web browsing for 3+ hours on my device. My Dell mini is better suited for that task and has better then 3+ hrs battery life. But maybe if your a gamer or a Facebook addict or Web browser cowboy, you find like people that use their device in the same manner as yourself and then compare notes.
Because of my job I'm often on the go and don't have the opportunity to recharge my device at leisure. It's nice to know it can be used as a phone all day and I'll still be able to call my wife at the end of that day. There if definitely improved battery in 20x after a few services are disabled and be r uninstalled. Prior to leaked JB my device required recharge after i got home. This is how I use my device and the condition under what I use it. These are my results but your milage may vary.
Yes the interface experience for me feels silky smooth. No lag, and no crashes or FCs. Best device I've owned to date.

its not specificly the browsing he did that makes the post usefull unlike some people posting battery charts its the fact that he posts screen on time rather then the chart.
the full charts are useless as you cannot see how often the phone was actualy used.
if i link you 2 charts 1 with slow battery drain in standby and no apps used at all (no screen on time) lasting 2 days exactly and 1 with near no battery in standby and 4 hours app use.
they both look the same if you post a battery chart but only the second one shows the potential of the battery life.
the first just shows the phone needed to be charged after 2 days the second showed the phone is capable of lasting 2 days with near no idle battery drain and gives a verry descent 4 hours screen on time.
a phone that is configured correctly and had good 3g/wifi signal and has 3g/wifi managed correctly, has no apps with adds and no apps that drain battery wil berely use any juice in standby leaving almost all the juice for screen on time.
a badlymanaged phone might drain up to 10% an hour because of adds and poort wifi/3g management/signal.
so in a perfect world (which we should aim for) only screen on/inapp time is important as there should be no other power hoggers.
hey everyone
i want to buy Galaxy S III Mini ..
i need your advice about this phone ..about any problem or bug in it
i hear that it battery is so bad and drain fast and need charge every 8 hours ..is that right ?
please i need all information about your experience of this phone ..( network - camera - speaker - how fast -...etc)
and is there any phone better than this phone cost between 280-300 $
thanks forward
Hello and welcome,
I am no expert but have experience on several android devices of the mid range. From Xperias to the galaxy advance and the htc hd2.
When I purchased the s3 mini I didn't expect any major difference from previous devices, well was I wrong this is definitely a fast smooth operating device with no major issues bugs or lag. Only I found missing was the ambient light sensor where you need to adjust brightness manually.
My battery also is fine lasts easily one and a half days with normal use, only thing I found eating lots of batter was wifi.
My humble opinion.
thanks ..
how many hours battery last with screen on when drain from ( 100 % to 0 % ) .. with normal use like browsing internet or send messages ?
because i read a lot of comment on websites that the battery is don't last 1 day with normal use !!!
please i need advice from many people who use this phone to know if there is any common problem that don't appear in all brand ?
i am waiting your opinion
thanks
Yes but allmost every android phone has this issue it also depends if you are using 3g, apps running in background, etc.. also there are many custom roms that are based on samsung s3 mini stock rom that has much better batery life.

Battery is really great, I'm constantly on 3g, wifi and mobile data on, chatting on whatsapp, browsing, texting, few calls, maybe a game or two for a few mins here and there and it always lasts about day and a half, maybe with sync it would last me a day or under with usage above... phone is smooth and never had any problems with it

Can someone post you experience? For example if you play Real Racing 3 or some other high usage game for an one hour, how much it drain battery? Thanks

battery drain is high during game play
Device does/will get hot while playing after 10-15 minds hence battery drain.....
The device getting hot is OK if you are needing a hand warmer on a cold day.

Thanks . and about hot... I have now LG Optimus 4X HD and I think that this phone from LG is hotter in gaming and others
Yes the phone gets warm when gaming, but not excessive (like my old SGS2).
Battery goes down faster when gaming, but I wouldn't call it a drain. This is usual for all phones.
What I really value with SP here are 2 things:
1) it plays heavy graphical games very smoothly and
2) in standby stamina mode the phone almost doesn't use battery power.
