So I just bought my FIRST car. My First Vehicle was my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee it had 78,000 miles in Oct 2008. I was 16. Well Friday I`m now 21 I went to a dealership and ending up Leaving with a BRAND new car! My Jeep had 188,127 miles on it at time of trade in. I just really been wanting something with Better Gas and I do LOVE the car! I got a decent deal a Brand new 2014 Kia Soul. But once I took my stuff out of my Jeep Ive just been emotional yes I know I`m not afraid to admit that about My Jeep when I left. Don`t get me wrong I LOVE my new Car its Amazing! But the memories I`ve had in my car mostly the last 4 years and Just being inside my Jeep I`m missing :/ If I could had the extra $2,700 which I got on Trade in I`d just keep it and or buy it back from them to have for Hauling trash & When it Snows.
Anyone ever run into this issue? and How long did it take for things to get better?
I post here a lot and this is my first real off-topic Post
Not at the moment I sold mine, I had the car for almost 10 years. Went away with a new Ford Fiesta.
My first kiss was in that car.
I went to school and later to college with the same car.
I got my first job interview with it.
Got my first real job with it.
Had lots of fun, including skidding off the road when it was real slippy (managed to steer is to safety, drift style, lol).
10 years without major repair.
Until my new car broke down (after 4 years). I thought, new tech are so unreliable. That when I missed my old car.

My dad has a Nissan Sunny 2005 model which i like to call Nissan ****box because its at garage most of times. It has 210k milleage(Hes been driving this car for 8 years since i was a kid) and keeps this car because it has alot of memories. And he says new cars with all those technology makes the car repair expensive while old cars are cheap.
I dont know why doesnt he sell this ****. The car is dirty from inside and old.

When I was in university in NY, I used to drive a 1995 Toyota Camry.
That car lasted about a year. I drove recklessly back then and almost got myself killed in an accident. The Camry was totaled.
For about 5 years, I drove a 1997 Ford Taurus. Adopted defensive driving habits. Led to zero-accidents and generally less stressful times behind the wheel.
I moved from the US after graduation so I gave the Taurus to my cousin. He completely wrecked it after a couple months. Sigh...
I'm looking to move back to the US in the next few years. Will probably get some sort of compact SUV. (I'm now married and my wife is expecting twin boys in Feb.) Perhaps a Toyota RAV4 or a Ford Escape.
I drive a Toyota Tacoma - Double Cab 4x4 2007.

We have a wee bit of rioting in Belfast this evening. There's a parade on somewhere or other. Got me thinking about rioting in general. We get a lot of it here. LAst summer was particularly bad with a lot of rioting around the city and around NI in general. this is a video from last year at Ardoyne. It doesn't kick of right away but it gets a bit out of hand. This one is quite tame. Afterwards a policewoman was seriously inured when a rioter through some concrete on her.
Belfast and Vancouver may be on different continents but they have the perennial riots in common. It's only 0.1% of each population though, while the rest look on thinking 'what a bunch of asshats'
It'll all change given, oh i don't know....300 years? Shame we won't be around to enjoy the peace!

good heavens! ur from belfast as well! the riots last summer was madness. thank god most of it was around Derry and North Belfast! just when you think people are matured enough to put the past behind them and move on! no wonder most of NI is a dump...lol
i was however stuck in the middle of the riots last year (if i remember right) along the lower windsor avenue when the polish supporters clashed with the local ones. 'twas a bloody affair i tell you. i actually pity the coppers in NI. poor guys are hated by both sides and have been putting up with sectarian s**t for too many decades now
If citizens were allowed to carry firearms it would pretty much stop the rioting. People are less inclined to do something that may get them killed....

I think it was summer of 2010 when there was that G20 riot in Toronto, then a few days ago the riot in Vancouver. It's so stupid, makes the rest of Canada looks bad and making others go what the hell. Seriously, who the hell does that to their own city? And you wonder what government's going to do with the money? Repair every single thing that was effing damaged.

rioting is one thing but the assassination in the antrim base, the cold blooded murder of the police officer in craigavon and the recent ones as well have taken things just a bit too far. what do they hope to achieve. yes i do know they are fighting for a cause, but blood baths isnt the answer.
It has really kicked off the last two nights with up to 500 on Monday night rioting and 700 last night. A photographer was shot in the leg last night, you can read the article here.
Shots have been fired by both sides of the community and there is very little the police can do without being heavy handed. This is putting such a negative slant on Northern Ireland which is a fantastic little country.
Let's face it, humans don't need a reason to be violent. They just need an excuse.

yes yes the loyalists and republicans are at it again...molotov cocktails, petrol bombs, gun shots! i dread to imagine the havoc on 12th july. thank god im living no where near ards, or east belfast
so, since there's 0 people here that would actually know who i am, or recognize my screen name, i figured i'd share this anyways since it's a huge thing for me and my family.
in 1980 i started bmx racing. now, my oldest son has been racing for 3 years and now my 5 and 2 year olds have started racing this year. at the beginning of this year, i was asked to be a part of a committee in building a large indoor racing facility about an hour away from our house.
we planned, we built and we opened october 15th.
what we built was a national pro-am track, a super cross track and bike shop under 1 roof. we will have week long training programs for kids 8-17. we will have weekend clinics for training, hold regular race weekends and will be open during the week days for practice.
it's been a long year and a lot of work, but it all paid off opening day when we had nothing but great reviews of the track from riders.
we still have a lot of work, and we are currently closed again to repair some roof sections. right now, i am designing the network for the building and we will have login so when riders arrive, they can login to the network, which will sign them in for racing and charge them the race fees. making registration simple. we will also have large monitors to display race info as well as live cams setup at various sections of the track to broadcast on the monitors and eventually live stream on the internet as well. i'm hoping to have all of this done by the time we reopen in a couple of weeks.
anyhow, here are some pics of the building and from opening day

That's no big deal. If some idiot wants to keep paying taxes on a new car every 6 months, that's more money for the local government than the price of the tags. Remember that the taxes on the whole vehicle are paid at the time of the vehicle's actual sale, which means right before the vehicle is driven off the lot.
Remember that California has a sales tax rate of 7.75%, so every 6 months, they get to charge $10230.00 in sales tax. When the vehicle gets flipped 6 months later, they get to nail it for sales tax a second time.
Basically, this idiot was paying more than $20000 per year just to drive without plates. The average price of a new car in the US is under $30000, also known as 18 months of driving without plates for stupidface.
Sorry, but this MORON didn't find any loophole. He found a hole to shove money into by the wheelbarrow.

Hahaha - that's actually good. And in all seriousness, I really do like the grid thing. 1st time I went to Milton Keynes I had a letter and a number and a street name and found the place straight away. I really does make things very easy.
Milton Keynes road system FTW!

It works great as long as you ignore that some of the H roads go vertical and some of the V go horizontal.
The main utilities are buried in the banks either side of the roads so traffic doesn't have to be delayed by roadworks.
The grid wasn't the first design though. Originally the plan was a 4 leaf clover layout, with a monorail around the border. How cool would that have been?
No home was to be more than a 5 minute walk from a bus stop, and 15 minutes from a monorail stop.
Way too expensive though so they dropped it.
They did, back in the 50s/60s foresee a time when homes would have more than one car which is pretty foward thinking for the time.
Although they forgot about the need for a hospital or firestation!
New home owners were given a voucher to buy and plant a tree, resulting in hundreds of trees needing to be ripped up 20-30 years later due to growing too close to roads/buildings etc.
"Note for Americans and other aliens: Milton Keynes is a new city approximately halfway between London and Birmingham. It was built to be modern, efficient, healthy, and, all in all, a pleasant place to live. Many Britons find this amusing." -Good Omens
I like the idea, but wow its easy to get lost when there xD
