[Q] My Samsung Galaxy Ace gets Hot, Battery Drains rapidly - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
My Samsung Galaxy Ace gets hot, Battery Drains rapidly :
Firstly, I was using normally (no problem)
But now my battery gets hot and draing faster ( you will tell me that this caused by using an app, but I already flashed my phone with rom cyanogenmod and nothing changed )
When I charge my phone the battery percentage does not update at all
The only thing I did is that I replaced my phone battery with another battery (samsung galaxy teos) because at that time I was really need to send a sms ( Note that I used a battery which is 5,55WH / 1500mAH )
Will someone please help me?
( Sorry for my Bad English )

Android OS Battery drain issue after upgrade

Hi
Ever since I got my Galaxy Note upgraded to 2.3.6, it's consuming a lot of battery...
Android OS has the maximum contribution in it..around 90%...
Please suggest!
Thanks in Advance...

hey u need to understand about battery % first. This seems that you haven't at all used the phone during this discharge, So whatever is battery drained, only OS was running in background.
e.g if your battery drains from 100% to 70% during 10 hours without using a phone at all, among those 30 %, minimal part would have been cousumed by background apps and rest obviously has to be OS (as u have not used display much.) So dont worry abt that, ya but if u r seeing rapid discharge per hour, then its definitely the problem....
Hmmm...thanks for the reply..I will keep a close watch on this now..

I m using battery monitor widget. my gnote still on stock android. with screen off, and taskkiller, its draining 2ma. when on the net, like now, its about 300ma. can anyone share their ma with a rooted gnote? thank you.
I really want to root my phone as I dont like touchwiz
This may not be the issue for you but I have found that often I need to restore my phone to it's original state and start from scratch because not all settings and options are available on the new rom.
If you're still having an issue you could try to restore to factory default and then restore apps and data.

[Q] Battery problem

Hello guys!
I have this phone 1 year and 4 months . Four months ago I replace my touchscreen because shows colored stripes..and do not react..
After i replace my touchscreen , my battery very fast discharging ( max 10 hours JUST STAND-BY) , touchscreen is original by LG ..
Now I use the PA v2.6 build 08 , and get hard for 5 hours..
Who is the problem ? my battery need replace ? I don`t think it`s a problem with my touchscree.
WHO IS THE PROBLEM (
I charge my phone twice a day
I know that Cyanogenmod10 had a huge Wifi drain problem in the past, I don't know if Paranoid has that too? Is your wifi on all the time? What does the battery app in settings say about battery usage?

If I replace the battery , I will up the battery life ? (I like PA rom..)
Another response.. ?
As suggested, post here a screenshot with battery usage and try another ROM too just to be sure that your battery draining isnt caused by your ROM.
You wont get anywhere if you just stand around,so try what have been suggested to you.

for i9001, check your battery to see if it has swell or bulge or test with another battery ( i9001 does have problems due to
battery )

Best ROM+kernel for battery saving ? My battery is crazy

Hey there . I am a proud owned of LG o4x now . In the past I had Samsung Galaxy Nexus and I have never had any battery problems like the ones that I got now . I bought the phone few weeks ago and I have noticed that it's draining battery like crazy . I am using it just as I have used my nexus in the past , but the battery like is like 4-5 times shorter .
All that I am doing is :
Phone is always locked when I don't use it , so the screen is almost always off.
3g is always enabled
Facebook , Hotmail(e-mails receiver) and Viber are always one .
I play games like 30 min per day
I am using 4500mAh extended battery .
The battery is lasting almost 10 hours with this usage .
The is with LG's Stock ROM .
Few days ago I flashed Mokee CM10.2 with the built-in kernel and now its even worse .
Please give me a suggestion about a ROM + Kernel that may extend my battery , because I am really disappointed of the phone at this time .
Thank you in advance .

No. Just wait some time, I think that battery needs to calibrate itself with charging. I tried CM11, in first it was awfull, after 2-3 charges it is becoming usable. But still CM10.2 and CM11 based ROMs are battery eaters. Try CM10.1.
Thanks very much for y quick answers ...i hope that it can to remedy the battery okey but i try too cm 10.1 ...thanks again :good:
Next time when you flash rom or even update to official firmware make sure your battery is always 100%, not 80, not 90 but 100%... I had problem with discalibrated battery cause i update from Ginger Bread to official Samsung Jelly Bean firmware and my battery gone crazy... Try charge-discharge couple of times as shut-down says... This problem could be a swollen battery too cause you say that your phone turns off when you are at 25-28%... To be sure that your battery isn't swollen, turn your phone off and make this steps:
step 1: Take the battery out of the phone.
step 2: Put it on a level (flat) surface.
step 3: Try spining the battery, if it spins freely than it's swollen, if it doesn't spin it's good and try this on the bouth sides of the battery.

Battery caliberation problem. caliberate using battery caliberation app or delete batterystats file
Discharge to 0%, full charge to 100%. And leave it some time (don't plug off your charger), maybe hour and more.
Type this in Terminal editor: cat /sys/kernel/abb-chargalg/eoc_status
And wait untill it says the real EOC reached.

if I help you, simpe just hit the thanks button.
i was having the same issue with Carbon 4.4.2 build 3, i did this:
*Uncharged the phone until 12-15%
*Rebooted phone 7% battery (every time i rebooted i losted 5% no matter what)
*Charged phone good 4 hours and then ran Battery Calibration APK (battery Calibration was showing 4120mha)
*Rebooted left phone alone 15 minutes ran Battery Calibration APK again (battery now was showing 4245mha)
*Ran greenify, hibernated almost all apps except whatsapp (bug with that was launching Player pro instead)
*Disconnected phone went to settings/performance changed:
Cpu Governor to :Abyssplug
Minimum CPU freq: 200mhz, Max: 800, set on boot.
I/O Scheduler: Deadline,set on boot.
Memory Managment: Zram to 10%, Allow purging of assets and KSM, also 16bit transparency.
i had 100% battery from 1am to 5am (whatsapp, fast for facebook, player pro, traffic racer, heavy wifi, screen never went off) at 4:35-40 i had 57% battery, to 5am i was having 55%, slept til 11am from that on i haven't used my cellphone too much but i have 35% current battery...for me its okay since i alway have a backup battery.
Pdt: i owe you the picture im in my office and don't have an usb cable with me.

It started on wintersport :') with the hybrid rom installed. But maybe it is because of the water damage in my phone. All the sensors are broken expect the sensors on the front of the phone.
