Does the Beats Audio app do anything to sharpen/improve/define the music for the Atrix HD? Is it worth installing? Can I use it on the CM 11 4.4.2 rom?
I recommend the beats audio mod for kitkat. Google or find it at the android developer forum

Or am I missing something?
Well I'm on a few days old MoKee rom and its not in.

OK, flashing went well, but I'm not sure that there are some benefits
There is no on/off, so it's hard to compare from memory
I don't trust it, but maybe I'll test it after a few reviews. There could be any disadvantages. I can't imagine this will make the sound really better...

You can hear the best improvement with high quality headphones! And with original Beats Audio one ^^ (But of course also with lower cost ones )

confirmed too
I tested it now, too and the sound has really more power.
does the improvment apply only to music (speaker/headphones) or is the earpiece/headset quality also improved (call quality) ?
I don't know. The audio (music) isn't clearer only more bass. It's too much, so I remove it again.
How this works without replacing existing system files?
I recorded the sound via audio jack with and without beats audio mod to compare the differences. Audio levels and spectrogram are exactly the same...
I asked me that, too, but I don't know. Maybe it's only louder and so placebo?
It makes difference in headset when play music or video.
Yep, working great for me too
Well if not satisfied, there are other options for sound freaks - DSP Manager from CM is included in DjangoManouche 1.0, works great with (also included) Google Music. There is a free Equalizer app on Market. Even LG stock music player has some decent presets. Choices, choices...
Anyway, respect to fuss132

I'm on Temasek's Kang 69. Is there any difference whether I flash this or the original one from Fuss132?
The original port was by RockoDev. I have edited the OP and put the link to his thread. (RockoDev's zip file can be flashed on ICS too)
I am not sure whether this works or not. Supercurio has stated that it doesnt.
supercurio said:

All it does is strictly no change in audio output.
If you claiming you're improving sound quality while implicitly asking for donations (aka [Donate to me] button) I strongly suggest you to bring some elements supporting your assumptions.
I might add that by distributing random files and libs you're violating several manufacturers copyrights and intellectual property.

Audio is something special.
When you say there is an improvement, people tend to listen closer and perceive something different even if it doesn't exist.
That's called placebo.
All I'm asking is intellectual honesty in order to not abuse of this many times proven fact.
I also think placebo-mods are affecting negatively everyone's work and also the confidence XDA users have in developers.
The solution is simple: It improves audio? That can be measured then!
If you can't measure it, it means it does nothing.
Me, I measured, Galaxy S II. found it wasn't working. It's not an opinion or a critic. It's a fact.

I am posting this in here just to start discussion on the Beats audio mod ported to all devices by fuss132.
I don't take any credit for this.
What it does:
1.It really improves the sound quality.
2.If you like bass this is perfect as it gives balanced sound and bass.
3.The sound is clearer than before.
4.Effective for headphones than speaker.
How to flash:
Just download the attached zip and flash through CWM.
also if you would like to revert dont forget to backup. There is an uninstaller available though to be on a safe side backup.
CREDITS
fuss132 for making this working on all phones.
P.S.- If i helped in anyway don't feel shy to press the Thank you button.
wow thanks would try it right away
It doesn't make sound better:

can it be ported to CM7 or CM9?
It seems line it's gonna blow my 2x's speakers ...the speakers (even the earpiece) seems to vibrate while listening to music, calls etc..
Is there any patch or something to remove it ?
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA App
Maybe this is placebo, too?
I made a backup before trying it and restored my backup, this mod is useless.
If you want the speaker to be louder, install Volume+.
Hallo,
For all GB ROM means that it's okay also for CM7?
Thanks

Yes, on CM too it works good, but your phone speaker will start 'trembling and vibrating'- due to increased audio, make a backup before installing so that you.can get back whenever you want...

how do you actually uninstall this mod?? it is messing up my message tone sounds...
Either you have an old cwm backup and restore it, or delete all files the pack added.
I agree with Flix123. If you want more volume then go with Volume+. It even has Beats emulation as one of the equaliser settings.

yes it works on cm7 too. And if you feel that it is blasting your speakers keep the volume below 10 it works fine then.

haha yeah placebo effect, I thought it improved quality but it didn't. You can find some files in your system folder called "beats", don't know if it removes it completely.

Beats Audio mod Lg 2x
Hey Ya'll.
Found this and thought it might be heplful to anyone who might take a look at this thread.
This is suitable for the 2x, as writen on the page of course .
Personally I have force close with the sound in general when I flash it, but there is a description to copy/paste files using file explorer, which I did not understand . If someone could despribe that to me I would appreciate .

Will there ever be a fix about the popping and cracking in the sound on the youtube videos??
I heard that more htc phones have this problem..
The htc one is a great phone but this is realy annoying...
Maybe because I don't experience this issue at all. So assuming I already got a firmware version that fixed the issue.
Same here, I don't have the problem on 1.29. What firmware versiona re you running OP?

It depends upon the base though. I can say that 1.29.401.16R fixes the issue.
To all the people having the crackling issue and popping, to my knowledge and my research it seems to be a kernel problem, the only way i found to fix this is to install a custom kernel, example faux kernel and us faux's kernel app and set the cpu to performance and it completely eliminates the popping and cracking sound, or you could flash any other kernel and use set cpu app to set the cpu to performance, its a guaranteed fix, improves your performance but kills the battery faster..
I use my own custom kernel and I am on 1.29 firmware. Never really experience these issues on youtube. I am always watching youtube on my phone more like 3-4 hours a day and it doesn't really happen at all even once.
Probably is on 1.27, cause I notice it on my One and I am on 1.27.

I have the same, I turn off beats and it fixes the skipping/popping audio but the lip sync is out. My Optimus 3d never had this issue! Hopefully this gets fixed soon, I love to watch music videos on youtube and this has ruined my day (only just got the phone.
Tried the Vevo app with beats enabled, still the odd skip but not as much as the youtube app. Mobile youtube from a browser seems to be fine so if you like to watch music clips just use that I guess.
I'm on 1.29.980.2 & I get the popping, crackling and bad lip sync. Turning off beats isn't a fix, just a workaround. You shouldn't have to turn off features to"fix" a problem. That's what HTC's QA Department is for.
I don't subscribe to this just put up with it crap. I didn't buy a premium phone to just put up with it

They don't seem to work for "Wired" audio either, as far as I can tell. Was just searching for this topic and so far haven't found much. Seems odd that no one has commented on this yet.
Edit: Nevermind, I guess they just don't work with Pandora.

Well yes, there is.
Viper4android,that's the one.
However it runs only fully (with all apps supported) on 4.2.x and 4.4.2 android on xperia devices.
Installing it normally will also work, but note with four example tunein.

Well you can only imporve the quality by software, you can't change the hardware, and that's what those mods do
So yes, I'm now using only Viper4Android app (not from the google play) with all of the audio effects (that also include the dowloaded add-ons, which are the most important part of Viper), but on Xperia devices I've used a special audio mod, that enabled Viper4Android for all of the apps (and probably changed audio by itself).
I've written some special tutorial how to install it on Samsung (as S4 needed a bit different mod).
You can use any of the files in this thread, as it doesn't matter for Xperia's. My target is always to get Viper4Android working, as it's the best audio mod I've seen until now.
I don't know which version of Viper You've used, but You should check out 2.3.3.0, as it has soo many options (remember to switch to advanced UI).
