You can uninstall a bunch of apps, but that toolbar you can't until we are rooted. Some sprint apps, Nascar, NBA you can.
I just disabled the toolbar in app settings for now

You probably can't uninstall the app if it is in /system until you are S-OFF. But you can flash a stock ROM with it removed with an unlocked bootloader + custom recovery.

LOL! Yea I uninstalled this crapware too. What really made me mad was the crap Sprint ID added today. Fortunately I had just read what Sprint ID is. Or else I woulda thought my default profile was gone. Changed it back in the app and deleted the crapware that added too. Today I hate you Sprint. It is my phone not yours. Ugh.

Yes /system is still write protected. Most ROMs will have all this bloatware removed.
Also unlock bootloader, then root and use your favorite app to freeze them until then.

You don't need to uninstall it to remove it from the browser. Go to Settings>Application Manager>All or Downloaded (I forget)> then disable the app. Voila!

Tayutama's JPM Froyo w/Xcaliburinhand's Re-oriented Kernel - 11/04/2010 -- possible security concern
Installed the above ROM.

Working good on my Captivate.
One concern: How do I take off the "minus" marks on the app icons that lets us delete apps right from the home screen (the screen we get when we click on the home button).
I see this as a security risk. I have app protector pro. But then, we can just delete the app protector pro in this mode without even asking for any password or anything, and all my apps are open for everyone to use.
Could anyone please help me take off this option to quick uninstall apps from home screen.
This thread is a joke, right?

Nope. I am serious. So far I realized that unless a person knew how to mod a Captivate, he didn't know how to access protected apps. But now, even a layman can just delete the 'app protector pro' and access all the apps that are supposed to locked by it.

You do know that once you rooted your phone, anyone with a little knowledge can do much more than simply delete apps... just don't lose your phone or give it to an iphone buddy who might wonder what the neat little thingys on your screen do
Bye. What launched are you using that you see this in.... and deleting an icon from your home screen does not uninstall it on any that I have used

Not the icon. Like when u press the home icon, u can see all the apps present on ur device. For user installed apps, u can see a small "minus" in a circle on the right top of app icon, just like in iphone when u go to edit mode. click on that, and it will uninstall the app.

I use Application Protection from the market. Upon uninstalling any app it always asks for the pin. There is no removing the program without it.

Another possible solution is to install another launcher that dosen't have uninstall in the application tray or doesn't work at this time (my LG Optimus below) and use root explorer to remove the two launcher and reboot.

Others have already pointed this out, but what you need to do is dl and install a different launcher from Market and then uninstall the TWLauncher. Problem solved.
Just because TWLauncher is the default in Cog 2.4.1 doesn't mean that you have to use it. Get another launcher. Or you could try never letting your phone out of your sight...

Sells them as refurbs, since you can't (legally) sell a phone as new if it's been in the hands of an end user.

Don't forget Motorola is a Chinese company now, and there is no illegal thing there. Everything is legal.
Did it come with Kit Kat or Lollipop out of the box? I got mine yesterday and it was still Kit Kat and a friend got his Monday, also Kit Kat. Both MotoMaker Pure Editions.
It came with KitKat out of the box. It also auto update itself after a factory reset. I don't care that it's there, I just thought it was strange. I went ahead and rooted it anyway, so it doesn't matter anymore.

No I was not. The uninstall option was not available. That's how I knew it was a system app.
Well, my concern then would be what someone could have done with root access. In theory they could have installed other applications, like potentially a keylogger.
I personally would get a replacement if my phone was really rooted when I received it.

I never said it was rooted, only that SuperSU was already installed. Anyone can install SuperSU from the Play Store, but it's useless without the SuperSU binary that goes along with it. I just thought it was an intersting find.

Not as a system app they can't. The phone either had to have been rooted at some point or it was flashed from a custom recovery. You can't install an app from the play store as a system app without root.

Give them some time to look at it. We've only had root for about 24 hours. I'm working on a couple things, like brightness slider removal, volume boost, and hopefully making it so both the WiFi and LTE icons aren't always on at the same time. Should have some of these by this weekend.

It's been an issue with TW lollipop since xposed was released for 5.0. It doesn't look like anyone is working on getting it fixed as far as I can tell. Maybe with root on such a popular device (unlike the S5) we'll see more work on it soon. I hope so.

Hi, thanks. I'd already on the same day of receiving the Sprint bloatware deleted all the apps that I could via uninstall. However, I'd like to know which other apps can be safely disabled, and more importantly are there any services or packages that don't use the words "Sprint" that may not be immediately visible to disable.
