Sprint bloat. - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions & Answers

Does someone have a list of Sprint's bloat ware, mainly ones that don't use the words Sprint in the app or process that I might have missed from disabling?
Cheer's.

anything labeled sprint you can long press on and uninstall, or within apps. if it doesn't have an uninstall option, ignore it.

Hi, thanks. I'd already on the same day of receiving the Sprint bloatware deleted all the apps that I could via uninstall. However, I'd like to know which other apps can be safely disabled, and more importantly are there any services or packages that don't use the words "Sprint" that may not be immediately visible to disable.

look in apps, do you see anything called sprint app pack or appcloud NOT SAMSUNG CLOUD. do you see appstack in apps. rid app pack or appstack. thats a good point to relax after that. do not DISABLE any other sprint app that only has disable or enable. also lookout can be disabled along with fb instagram and messenger. NOT the message app.

These are all packages and process with the word Sprint in them. Anything that doesn't have the word Sprint in them that I should be looking for.? I did see lookout bloat which I've already disabled.

Why Is Verizon So Gay with their VCraP?

This is getting very annoying, my dock icons gets switched somehow to some V****, like vcast or their "APPS", why are they trying to push down the throat of their consumer crap that nobody wants? It happens like once or twice a day. Want to make a call and "bang" some annoying stuff pops up.
I can't wait for the day the phone gets rooted so i can uninstall all that crap.

I'm used to bloatware, but switching your dock icons is another whole level. Makes you think you are not in control of your phone anymore.
it's called marketing lol...
and sprint is being a good daddy and letting consumers remove MOST of the bloatware, and they're also limiting the number of bloatware
verizon has the most bloatware imo
I wish it was uninstallable. This is where Google needs to step in and remind carriers that Android is supposed to be open. Microsoft allows computer OEMs to send systems loaded with bloatware but all of it will uninstall, Android should be the same way. Instead we'll have to wait for a root.

Source is open, not company standards. Ie you can compile anything you want but man facts and resellers can limit access, hence locked boot loaders and such.

That seems like a software issue though. Nothing should just do that on its own. That's just creepy lol. Possession is nine tenths of scary movies lol

if you download launcher pro you can have it hide all the bloatware from your app drawer

You can do that with the Motorola UI that comes with the D3. You can make your own custom app groups to organize/hide what is installed.

This lol. Seriously, all of the "V****" is in the market so I don't know why they don't make it uninstallable on phones. The most they should do is have the Verizon Apps app uninstallable and allow you to choose which uninstallable apps you want on your phone.

New voicemail update T.5.3.4.32 NOW WITH ADS

So I have my voicemail set to accept auto-updates since all the updates in my opinion have been good ones since I have had visual voicemail since the evo4G. So it auto updated last night to T.5.3.4.32 which now comes with ADS on your voicemail. You can opt out, however you LOSE features if you choose to do so. Part of my monthly service fee to sprint is to PAY for voicemail. I have already posted to Sprint's facebook wall and have sent feedback via the feedback option in the voicemail app. The reason I am posting this is to encourage others to do the same thing. Also I'm not sure the version number before this, but can someone please post the latest version of the APK without ads so I can uninstall this garbage.
I have the update with no ads. I'm using InsertCoin 6.0-1, which has Adaway (if you choose it during install). Maybe Adaway would work for you.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
I actually use AdFree and it was letting some ad's through. I went to update it but looks like my AdFree isn't working right now not sure why. It's stuck on the wait while I determine if the local hosts file is up to date. I reinstalled it & even reinstalled SuperSU so not sure what's up with it.
Maybe try Adaway, then?

Ad Free seems to be borked at the moment as reported by multiple users here. I just got done installing adfree will see how that works out

I use Google Voice, can I just delete the stock voice mail app? In settings it only lists 'my carrier' as an option when I seem to remember ages ago it showed tat and GVoice as options, unless my memory is fading in my elder years
Your not really losing anything but if you choose the ads you get some of the premium features that are available for $1.99 a month. If you opt out of ads it becomes the same old voicemail app you've been using forever.

Sick of these carriers add this mobile advertising junk!

FYI, Sprint installs something called Luemn ToolBar and when you click on it it brings up Sprint Mobile Advertising program. Make sure you disabled this cr$p.

You can uninstall a bunch of apps, but that toolbar you can't until we are rooted. Some sprint apps, Nascar, NBA you can.
I just disabled the toolbar in app settings for now

You probably can't uninstall the app if it is in /system until you are S-OFF. But you can flash a stock ROM with it removed with an unlocked bootloader + custom recovery.

LOL! Yea I uninstalled this crapware too. What really made me mad was the crap Sprint ID added today. Fortunately I had just read what Sprint ID is. Or else I woulda thought my default profile was gone. Changed it back in the app and deleted the crapware that added too. Today I hate you Sprint. It is my phone not yours. Ugh.

Yes /system is still write protected. Most ROMs will have all this bloatware removed.
Also unlock bootloader, then root and use your favorite app to freeze them until then.

You don't need to uninstall it to remove it from the browser. Go to Settings>Application Manager>All or Downloaded (I forget)> then disable the app. Voila!

For the most part Yes. I just selected the option to disable all bloatware and then customized. For the first yesterday since getting the phone I didn't have to charge it at work.
Is the one-click bloat removal any good? I've been using Titanium Backup and just freezing/removing apps...

Rogue app turning Sync On automatically

Hi guys.
I'm getting trouble since I got this S10+
I'm. Coming from S9+ and everything there was smooth as butter.
In S10 too, but there is a strange behavior.
I turn AutoSync off and after a while it's on again.
Checked Bixby routines, tried to catch some logs, but nothing.
Do you guys have any clue what could be turning it on?
Cheers
Try Good Lock's NiceCatch app.
Have you check Samsung Cloud and other accounts too?

Outlook
This is really annoying me a lot

Have you tried an app like battery+ to check what is always on ?
Yes, I'll install again and check.
This issue is making me a permission check freak and I start to realize many apps have too many permission where they shouldn't. e.g. ES File having the permission to change the sync
Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
Have you tried AdHell?
It has the app components feature which is basically not only removing the permission but disabling access to the function all together.
Got to be careful with it, but I had some apps that have absolutely no reasons to access my phone state, GPS and storage for example.
