E:Error in /sdcard/_Roms/2012_9_99_AOKP_JB_Build_2_version/aokp_p970_Beta_1.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
I've tried everything, wipe all, erased all what i can, i've also tried format and install original ROM for OB with SmartFlash Tool.
Notthing helped, know everyone what am i doing wrong, cause no one had this problem in original thread.
Please help, thanx and have god day
(My english is not perfect, so please excuse possible errors...)

Well, i tried, tantrums touch cwm, classic cwm, and also the latest Tantrums CWM (v3 for boys ) ...
and it did not helped, so ill try download the zip again, but it was not corrupted or damaged.
Downloaded, and...
...nope, even this does not helped.
This is my walkthrue:
Make full wipe (data/factory reset; cache partition; dalvik)
Fix permissions.
Install zip -> and here i've got the error.

Notthing ... i dont know what am i toing wrong. I've tried everything and still Status 7 ... some symlinks failed.
But other JB roms can be installed normally, with full wipes, in classic CMW and touch CWM [both tantrums] also in stock recovery.
I'm out of ideas ... :/
But anyway, thanx for helping.
When I had this issue I flashed again stock rom, using Smart Flash Tool. After that, the problem has gone.
It works!

Doh! ... I know what was the mistake. The wipes after installing via SmartFlash tool. Now, without wipes it works.

I had same issue and for me the fix was this:
In Recovery (ClockworkMod 5.0.2.0) go to Mounts and Storage and Mount /sdcard and then Mount /sd-ext. Then I went back and installed zip from sdcard.

Error mounting sd-ext!
So same errror...No fix till now.
In my opinion you're putting a lot of effort in trying to install this rom on your phone but why even bother with a rom that has bugs and is not being developed any further?
It won't get any better anyway.
Just my 2 cents.....

Hello,
I had this problem and i only resolved it by reinstalling CWM (tantrums).
By the way, I could install Gingerbread and ICS ROM's but none CM10x.
Hope this help...

Hi, guys. Just fixed my mom's Mini and finished rooting the phone.
Since I'm just a n00b yet, I can't directly reply to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2074556. Tried doing the said steps but on my recovery mode, I can't seem to find these :
> Format /system
> Wipe dalvik cache
I think it's necessary because just wiping the cache and resetting, shows the error “E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip Installation aborted”.
Am I supposed to download all version of Balt and install it accordingly? The only thing I downloaded is the cm-10.1.Balt_rom_v5_final.zip.
Thanks.

Hello everybody.
I was trying to install CyanogenMod 11.0 for Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 but after getting Status 7 error, I did some research and found out that I had to update the CWM to the newest one.
I updated it successfully from the old CWM and after restart it booted me into the new one. Than I rebooted the phone and since then, it started looping. It doesn't go into recovery mode. Only if I push Volume Down + home + Power, it goes into Download Mode.
I googled but I couldn't find anything that would help.
I'm inexperienced in die-hard tweaking on Android but I'm not a newbie in mobile phones (Proud ex owner of N900).
Please help and thank you in advance

One sure way to fix this is to go back to stock. You said that you can go to download mode. So use odin to flash stock.
Another way would be to use adb to get into recovery, but I don't know if you have access to adb.

Thank you very much, that helped, but am I now able to install CyanogenMod 11? If so, should I try the same routine or is there any boot-loop safe way to install it?
Thank you again.

I have never used cwm 6.0.4.7. I always used cwm 6.0.4.5 and I had no problem installing CM 11 with this. So what I suggest is:
-First flash cwm via odin (whatever version you find available).
-Then via cwm flash an update to cwm-6.0.4.5.
-Then wipe data/cache and /system.
-Flash cm11.
-(Perhaps flash gapps?)
-Reboot and enjoy (it will take a lot of a time to boot for first time so be patient)
Warning: While using cwm 6.0.3.2 avoid using option "reboot to recovery". This is what will get you stuck in a recovery bootloop.
After upgrating to 6.0.4.5 you should be ok.

It has internal SD mount problems, but not everyone has this problem. For some it just works fine.
Also I think that 6.0.4.7 also has the same problem.
Finally there is a 6.0.4.5 that I've uploaded that avoids mounting internal SD and only mounts external SD. Just for those who have mount problems and still want to install KitKat (because KitKat needs cwm 6.0.4.5 +)
thanks

Well, to get to stock recovery, download XXLK1 firmware anywhere. And restore with Odin. Make sure you put files in right places. And install back CM11 with latest nightly with CWM 6.0.5.3. It should work for now. You'll be fine after install but don't forget install Galaxy Y MODEM after installed CM11. It's bug on our CM11 if you don't install, we can't boot without install it. If you know this already, just leave it.
Hi i have E:unknown volume for /sd-ext CWM problem and have read on internet that it is due to the non compatibile CWM and that is not possible since i installed it specificly for lg 4x (CWM version is 6.0.4.5 non touch). Is this serious problem ? This is not a problem at all. It just indicates you don't have an ext-sd partition (by default nobody has it).
