[Q] CM10.2 Kernel w/ Fast Charge - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm not looking for anything fancy but I am in need of Fast Charge so I can properly charge my phone while plugged into my Pioneer head unit. I am running CM10.2 (android 4.3.1) on a verizon HTC One. I tried searching but Kernels aren't my specialty and I don't really know what is compatible.
Thanks!

[Q] Question about charging up my phone with different chargers.

I have a powermat in my room that i use for charging my phone up when I go to bed at night. But it seems that I can only charge my phone up by having the phone on. When I turn it off and plug my phone in, it just turns the phone back on. Although this doesnt happen when I plug in my phone into the Samsung usb cable that came with my phone, when its plugged into my computer.
Can anybody explain to me why this is happening? Just a curious thought I had.
I have experienced this with my powermat as well. One thing I noticed is that it wouldn't do it on my wifes phone running continuum 4. Only on mine which was running gingerbread roms. Didn't matter which rom either. Once I upgraded her phone to gingerbread hers starting doing it.
Could this be a gingerbread kernel thing? It does it with every different GB kernel I've used also.
A new day and perhaps a definitive answer to this. Would anybody else happen to know a solution to this? Or why it would be causing this issue?
I haven't noticed mine turning on beyond the charging notification. I've used the stock 2.1 and 2.2 and also the FireFly 3.0 Rom. I did notice a while back on some forums on Android Central that people who were using chargers other than the stock chargers were experiencing different things. If I remember correctly it has something to do with the exact voltages the charger supplies to the phone versus a USB from a computer and so on. Maybe it was the amps. Anyway these minute differences in the voltage tells the phone how to respond to being plugged in. I've got a couple of wall chargers from some long gone Verizon phone (RAZR I think) and my Captivate thinks it's connected to a PC and starts USB Debugging. (I am currently working on some Apps so I have left that option on for now.) The phone charges just fine and the chargers only have current through the 5V and ground pins so it shouldn't be able to do anything to my phone anyway.
Perhaps there is a setting in the ROMs that you are using that tells the phone to be turned on when connected to a PC and your phone is reading your charger as a PC. Just a thought. There might be a setting or something in your USB settings that would let you toggle that or it might just be in the ROM. I hope that gives you a possible line to try and start looking for your answer. Sorry I don't know more about it.

Limited/slow battery charging speed on cyanogenmod

Hello,
I used for a while stock Google play edition rom and then bought a new charger thats really capable of charging 2A (even measured with ampere app). Then I wanted to use cyanogenmod (12.1) and after installation I found out that I can't charge it with the same speed but 700-800mA thats. So I was wondering if it is a system or kernel limitation? Is there anyway to get it to work properly? Researched about custom kernels that force fast charging but then I'm unable to transfer data.
Same issue with Cm12.1, was good with ARHD and Insertcoin. Did you try enable fast charging ?
Fast charge option in some kernels doesn't have anything to do with chargers. It gives you faster charging when you plug your phone to a computer or laptop

Slow charging with Stock

The Note 4 seems to have charging problems.
What I see is this: on stock rom, stock marshmallow, the phone charges very slowly. As others noticed, this means that when using the phone for car navigation, I have to lower the brightness so that the charge goes up and not down when connected to a 2.1A charger.
Now the interesting things: same phone, with different ROM, seems to charge faster. I also have a Note 3, and that phone doesn't have these problems.
Many say that it depends on the charger, on the cable, etc. That is true. It does depend on charger and cable. I tried many chargers and many cables. However, same chargers and cables don't have such a big problem with a different ROM, and don't have the problem with the Note 3. I tried both with fast charging turned off and on.
I feel this is some problem with the kernel. So, I wanted to ask if anyone knows what kernel doesn't have the slow charging issue, and can be used with stock, 6.0.1, or if the problem can be solved in some other way.
thanks!
Just an update. I switched to kernel BeastMode r56.8 RAGE, and charging is much better.

USB Fast charge request...

Hi,
I've got an old Samsung Galaxy s4 (i9506) and I would like to use it in my kitchen as multimedia center connected to a TV using a MHL cable. The problem is that phone detects it as USB so it charges only at 500 mA max, and it drains battery quicker.
I've been searching all around, and I didn't find any kernel that supports fast charge for USB ports for this phone... In fact I only found arter97 kernel, obviously not maintained for a long time...
So the question is... is there any easy way to enable fast charge in this phone? I know there's a c patch code available to add fast charge support to any kernel... and arter97 source code is also available, but I don't have enough skills to do it myself...
Ok. I was wrong... There's more kernels around than I though initially, and there's one ported from Note 3 with fast charge feature included:

I post it just in case someone faces same doubt.
bye!
