No root available yet. A search would have told you that.
Please remember to use the search function or Google before posting questions.

If you took the OTA and are now on official kitkat (NC2), then as of now, there is no way for you to root. you would have had to have had root on jelly bean, then flash a pre-rooted kitkat custom rom in order to acheive kitkat root. furthermore, we are also currently blocked from downgrading back to JB either. So all you can do is wait a few days or so until a new developement is made

Thanks I appreciate your help

I don't understand why the ATT N3 Kitkat is so hard to root, because it is a niche so no Dev are willing to work on it? S5 and Z2 are not on the market yet, they have been rooted.

This thread is so deceiving. Every time I go pass it I say to myself. We got root already. Lol ?

I have the Note 3 N900A on NC2 and 4.4.2. Is there any way to downgrade to 4.3 again and root it using Klingo? Or, is there a stock ATT 4.3 ROM that can be flashed using Odin?

Sorry, I'm a nooblet. I guess we just have to wait. I can always use turn off the apps that it allows and use Nova launcher to hide the rest.

Just to confirm, but ALL versions of Jelly Bean for the ATT Note 3 are rootable? Every single last one of them, until we hit KK?

Thanks. I've been a member of this forum for a year and change but this is my first time posting. I just bought the Note3 and it came preloaded with KitKat 4.4.2 on ATT N900A. I previously had the S3 rooted and running Hyperdrive ROM for a while. Just a question, is there timetable as to when the root will be released by the Dev team? Thanks in advance.

I've been gone for a bit due to illness and such, but was able to get my N990A rooted with Towelroot. I haven't been able to successfully find an explanation concerning a process for installing a custom recovery and ROM yet, though. I seen to search all through the forums here, but there are so many threads that I'm not sure which one to rely on for my needs. Because of the locked bootloader on this phone, is it still not possible to install a custom recovery and a custom ROM? If so, will someone please point me in the right direction so that I can figure out how to do it? I've only ever used TWRP and CWR. I've read about safestrap (I think it was), but I don't know anything about it. Sorry for the long post, but I'm a real newbie at this and want to learn everything I can. Help a n00b out, please?

Fixed the problem, went into the zip file and deleted the flash image file then reflashed it and it booted up fine.
Also was using a non touch cwm and also tried it with touch cwm, had the trouble with both until I deleted the flash image file.

Also a huge thanks the Matt Groff for the help!
Really though, THANK MATT!!!! He is the reason why my stuff gets fixed after I break it lol.
*Please note that 1.5 is still beta, focused on fixing lag issues caused by Moto scripts. I also added in 1% battery mod (thank youngunn). Please leave all feedback on thread and if you need help PM me.
Please think about offering up some money. With a bootloader unlocked Joker (and all other roms) could be so much better. Here is the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2164525

Yes it will get AT&T 4g LTE. Batakang is also themed more than mine. Mine has custom boot animation, non carrier branded in the top left corner, and new launcher, background, ect.

Just installed it. Stuck on the boot screen, which is great btw. Will let it go a little longer, but I'm not sure where I went wrong. Installed SS3, made an rom slot, made it active, installed the rom and gapps, then rebooted. I've given it some time but I'm going to try and reboot back to stock if I can't this up and running

Stock side is ICS and rooted. I know that your rom needed us to be on JB, but I did not see anything in Joker's OP. It makes sense though, that we'd have to be. But since it wasn't in the OP, I didn't do it. I follow instructions. Lol.
UPDATE: Followed instructions on how to install JB Leak. Reinstalled recovery from SS3 and everything is working like a charm. Thanks Joker!

[Q] Rooting Xperia Z (C6602) 10.4.1.B.0.101 ?

Hello Guys,
I just received my sony Z from Sony Service center and they updated my phone to the original 10.4.B.0.569 and ofcourse I lost root,CWM and all else.
I connected my phone to the Sony Companion and it updated to stock 10.4.1.B.0.101, now how do I root it and install the cwm aswell?
help will be much appreciated.
First, there is no requirement for creating another thread for this question.
Second, there is no direct root as of now for 4.3. You need to flash pre-rooted system to keep your root.

apologies for creating another thread, and thanks for the reply.
so in other words downgrade to a .67 for example and root then upgrade either to stock new update or install a custom rom with the update right? and it will keep root and recovery?
Downgrade, yea. But need to flash the pre-rooted system partition, which will preserve recovery and root.

Downgrade to 4.2, root, upgrade via cwm to 4.3 prerooted rom that includes recovery and su fixes and you are done.

I had a bootloop too when downgraded from 4.3 to 4.2 that i solved by doing a wipe data when flashing the 4.2 rom. I think you have to do a fresh install when you downgrade in order to avoid bootloops

Did you choose to wipe data? Its important to do that since you are downgrading from higher Android version.
Try a different region just to ensure that there is no issues with the FTF. Make sure the MD5 is the same after you download.

dudes, I did the downgrade (4.3 > 4.2) using flashtool, you have to find&download C6602_10.3.1.A.2.67_India Generic.ftf, and it's done...:good:
btw you can root 4.2.2 using kingo andorid root, with lb, and later wait for ota (twice, until .101), it's pretty easy but you need some patience

Do you have other modules activated that could be interfering with the Wanam module? If so I would disable all of them. Reboot. Turn on Wanam. Reboot. Then one by one activate a module, reboot, and see which one is the culprit.

Or instead of going through all that trouble, just use triangle away

Wanam exposed no longer gets rid of "Custom" at the boot prompt. Anyone know what's going on?

Wanam worked for me while I was on stock MI9 bootloarder. After switching to MLG for the KitKat roms wanam no longer removes custom status. I thought about using triangle away, but our SM-N900A is not on the safe list. Can't afford a brick so I'm living with it for now. Please PM me if you find a solution.

I and many people can confirm that it is perfectly safe on our device.

Like others are confirming, Triangle Away does indeed work on our SM-N900A.
Wanam seems to be hit or miss for a couple of features. One that stopped working for me was the BOOT SOUND. It doesn't remove it anymore. I had to use Silent Boot from the Play Store. All in all Wanam is still the mod to use for customizing.

For my own sanity, can you confirm you are on a 4.4.2 rom w/ MLG bootloaders (drakey's "to get booting" set) when using triangle away or do I need to be on a specific (older) version?
Thanks in advance.

Does this mean we could have a root soon?!?
Tried it, didn't work.

Yes I kno it's don't work, because the program hasn't been updated, but what I'm saying is it might be away to root soon?!? If the program updates
no need for this
whats the need for this when towelroot works already for 4.4.4? we don't need multiple ways to root but we do need a unlocked bootloader method

Lol obviously you don't kno, you can't root 4.4.4 kit kat towelroot is patched, yes you can if you was already rooted on 4.4.2 with towelroot than with Odin you can preserve your root an update to 4.4.4 stock root, but those for who r on 4.4.4 not rooted there no way to use Odin an switch your kernel to root!
Unless someone can tell me how can you root Note 3 Stock 4.4.4 NJ5, I've been looking all over... Nothing
Yes I agree with we need a unlocked bootloader but honestly looks like no devs. r working on that, looks like there no hope for that, an for Note 3 AT&T/ Verizon model looks like development is already dead, an it's sad cause this phone still has top of line specs compared to a lot of other android phones on the market, example (galaxy aphla, mega, also Note 3 is better than Galaxy S5 in my opinion) unless Samsung releases a one click bootloader unlock, like HTC did but I don't think samsung really cares
It was my understanding you can downgrade your kernel using Odin and then use towel root.

To my understanding you need a root first to downgrade the kernel
I haven't tried it but I thought we could do a complete downgrade to nc2.

We'll I'm not trying it cause if fails phone is bricked, but if anyone can confirm that works without root? But from this post: [How-To] Root N900AUCUDNJ5 (11/21/2014)
Says "you must be 100% Stock NC2 (except for root and Safestrap) before proceeding."
Nc2 thread says you can on one of the later pages

Thanks, question is what's the step by step tutorial with Stock 4.4.4 NJ5
The original post should be sufficient. If not try YouTube Odin note 3 nc2. It is basically just knowing how to use Odin.

Thanks for the info, guess all I need to do is downgrade the kernel than follow the steps correct?
I dunno never did it. I was just at a loss why you were laughing at a guy for giving you relatively correct information. My device will most likely stay on 4.4.2 till I have a rootable lollipop
I think you have to go back to nc2 install safestrap update to nj5 then Odin nc2 kernel then install rooted nj5 via safestrap. But I haven't read the threads fully because I haven't intended on doing it.

We'll sorry to that guy I thought you needed a root to downgrade kernels, but I guess you don't, so basically I have to downgrade to 4.4.4 NC2 correct? than root , install busybox, than Safestrap, than boot into Safestrap recovery an update the the stock rom to NJ5, than reboot an I'm 4.4.4 NJ5 rooted? I'm question is can you stay on NC2 ? Or do you need to update to NJ5 ?
But than if I ever wanted a rom with Odin just switch kernels boot into recovery an have roms or add ons on sd than once installed boot back into download mode an use Odin install NJ5 back than reboot? An since I'm on 4.4.4 I'd need a 4.4.4 rom correct can't use 4.4.2?

towel root only works for 4.4.2 , it complains on 4.4.4
What I understand you do is you Odin back to stock nc2.
Then you use towelroot.
Then you install safestrap
Then you install busy box
Then you get the nj5 update file from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56935559
Then you save it on your phone
Then you boot into safestrap
Then you install the file you saved
Then you flash the new 4.4.4 nj5 kernel in Odin.
Correct me if I'm wrong carl1961

Alternatively you can stay on 4.4.2 if you want after you Odin. But you will have an out of date version of android (which is what my current course of action is) I do not see a big enough change to move from 4.4.2... Lollipop will perhaps make me upgrade.
