I just found a bug in the dialer app. When dialing out to a IVR system, after connected I'll bring out the keypad to key in something. But the numbers I key in are not displayed on the screen. For example, if I need to input my credit card number, it'll be very frustrating because I may get confused of which number I just press.
I'm using the latest .199 firmware. Anyone else notice this issue?

Hi,
I'm experiencing some problem with phone module.
Problem is as the follow:
When I push the green buttuon (on the left side) no dial pad appears
When I push phone icon on start menu no dial pad appears
when I push on phone icon of phonealarm, list of missed call appears
I can receive phone call and I can perform phone call from contact list or from missed call list but I do not have any dialpad menu (i.e. no speakerphone activable etc).
I've tryed with various dialpad but the problem persist is not a problem of dialpad.
I use WM5 original ROM with GPS active.
Is it possible to re install phone module?
Could some one post the cab
As you may understand this bug is very frustrating, I have a wonderful device but it is not able to do the basic function required to a phone: dial a number and start a conversation
thank you very much for your help
regards
j
Has anyone figured out a registry tweak so that the keypad doesn't disappear after you dial a number on the Tilt. There must be a way to fix it - I notice when I push 1 for speed dial to call my voicemail the keypad remains on the screen, but when I dial any other number it disappears. This is one of the few annoyances I haven't been able to fix on my Tilt. Thanks.
Keep keypad when calling . . .

Excellent first question!
I don't know the answer, but I'd like to know, too.
Obviously you can hit the left softkey for "Keypad" but that's an extra step that one might prefer not to have to do, but rather have the keypad remain showing, and have the left softkey option be "Call Status"
If you call a lot of numbers where you have to enter more numbers when prompted, this might be the preferred default.
No one knows? I'd love to change this as well.
This is the first "fix" i need to do.
HTC should sort this out and provide a fee down load. They are silly to think it would not be a problem .
There is a fix etc.. but its part of a big bundle of stuff that scares most "newbies" away.
Can someone not make a simple fix just for this problem with a very easy method to download and set up etc
I am sure that many members do not have the technical minds of most of you!
I'm currently running Ivan's .8t2.
I'll manually dial a number and get a busy signal or no answer. To redial I'll just tap the number in the call history list that shows at the top of the HTC dialer and then nothing happens. It'll indicate that the number was redialed but just dead air on the phone. I'll end the call and try to manually dial the number again and the dialer then lags really bad. This has happened a few times. A reboot fixes it.
Before I give the Vanilla dialer a try I was curious if the above symptom is typical of the POS HTC dialer or maybe something else.
I purchased my Captivate in America from AT&T, but I live in Japan. I unlocked it and am currently using it on Softbank with no problem, save one. I can't get my voicemail to work. Google voice obviously doesn't work with Japanese cell phones.
Our voicemail number here is a 4 digit number. When I dial this number, it dials the voicemail just fine but will not allow me to bring up the dial pad to choose any of the options. The dialpad stays grayed out. It works fine on every other number in the book, except my voicemail. I have tried to add commas to delay the button pushing and get it to choose the options I want, but it does not work.
Here is the question: Is there any way to force the dial pad to show up when making a call, or an app that can do it?
Any help would be appreciated. I am running a rooted version of the 2.1 OS, no custom ROM or anything crazy.
I was wondering whether there was any way of getting an in-call dialler that is alphanumeric (i.e. the numbers with the corresponding letters, like 2abc, 3def etc).
The dialler to call a number has this, however when in a call all the dialler displays is numbers - which is a pain for some automated systems where you're required to press the appropriate letters, if that makes sense.
Any help appreciated!
Try the app "go dialer"

Thanks for the reply, but that still doesn't allow for the alphanumeric keypad to be displayed within a call.
