Even if you can find the downloaded ota file, you won't be able to flash it with a custom recovery, You need to flash your stock recovery and make sure you did no modification to /system or revert them. You might also need to have stock htc apps in /preload folder which are deleted when you unlocked bootloader.

I do get OTA updates, and it downloads just fine, but as soon as I try to install it, it reboots into the custom recovery and nothing happens. when I had Sense 5 ROM I would simply install the stock recovery.img and installed the OTA update, but right now I'm on stock Android 4.3 google edition and I can't find a stock google edition 4.3 recovery.img

Go to the GPe convention thread. Its in the development section. Download the ruu. Pull the recovery.img, and flash it.
Or ignore the ota, its a minor update anyway. No noticeable changes.

[Q] HTC One Devolper Edition- Problem OTA updates

Hello, few days ago I bought an HTC Developer Edition (64GB). Came with Android 4.1.2 and came Unroot. So, because I need to use Titanium Backup I root it and I installed Clockworkmod recovery 6.0.4.4 and then Superuser to root it. The problem is that now I cant make OTA updates (errors when try to update), so my questions are: how can I make OTA updates without errors? Need to install a Stock Recovery again? Where I can find it?
Thanks in advanced!

You need the stock rom without root and the recovery stock for your version main.
After you can apply the OTA
But if you have the Dev Edition, this ruu can help you

This ruu will erase all data (also the sd) from your phone and it will upgrade your phone as stock, with stock rom, recovery, firmware etc.

[Q] htc one ota update 4.3 on a t-mobile device

Hi Guys
I have a problem with my htc one.
I did update to 2.24.11.5 via ota update.
After that i did root my phone
Get s-off and changed my CID to HTC__001
Now i tryed to start an ota update to 4.3....didnt worked.
i downloaded the OTA manually on this forum.
i tryed to install the zip via TWRP but im getting error.
do i have to flash the stock recovery for the manually update via stockrecovery?
do i have to flash a stock 4.3 unbranded version....in that case i would loose my data.....
any idea what im doing wrong?
thx a lot

[Q] how to get KitKat 4.4 for HTC one GPE rooted/clockworkmod

Hi;
I have rooted my HTC one GPE (from google) phone and installed clockworkmod recovery.
The day after i received a system update from Google for KitKat but couldn't install it; it failed updating.
How can i get the update again?
i tried manually downloading the KitKat from HTC site for my phone and install it as "Install from a zip" but it didn't work, claiming that i download m7 version while my phone is m7ul phone.
Any help? should i really be going through all the S-OFF stuff before?
Appreciate any links or help
Rami
if you flash the stock recovery image back to the device you should be able to re-check for the OTA and apply it - you can also search for the OTA.zip and then from clockwork you can try to sideload it.
sideloading didn't work
as i mentioned at my original post; installing the OTA.zip didn't work!
I have that same question lol, I cannot flash anything other than 4.2 from CWM. I have the new radio version it seems too. 4.4 finally loaded fine from OTA but it bootloops at welcome screen
I'll let you know if I find anything
You need to do a full conversion to GPE 4.3/4.4, and NOT while you are S-ON.. You will most likely run into issues!

Maybe ... unlocking the bootloader deletes a folder called preload that is needed for the OTA to succeed
So if you have data/preload and stock recovery it may work
