OK if you are running the Downgrade script, just answer yes when it asks to make a goldcard. That is what is causing the CID error.

Thanks for hijacking the thread. Your question doesn't have anything to do with the topic in the title.
Anyway, in your case it sounds like you have not prepared your PC correctly. Have you installed the latest HTC drivers? Have you verfied that your phone has ADB Debugging enabled on the phone and the FASTBOOT option disabled in Settings?

Sorry for hijacking the thread . I was trying to avoid creating a separate thread for a thing that could be answered in this thread. Yes latest HTC drivers are installed, ADB debugging is enabled and FASTBOOT is disabled. also i have tried this at least 3-4 times, when i disconnect the phone after waiting for around 10mins it asks do you want to create a gold card, then i connect my phone again and press yes. Once the whole process is done and i try to run RUU it says incorrect CID.
Thanks,
Akshay

The question could have also been asked in the downgrade script thread. Go there, read the instructions, specifically the support section and post the required information.
So how can I fix the problem? I'm new to this forum and I don't know what is the next step for fixing the mess.
When I press the volume down and the power I get
Fastboot
recovery
factory reset
sim lock... (but I cant move through these options)
then SD checking \image pg....
loading failed
then CID incorrect!
Update Fail!
Press <POWER> to reboot.
What is the procedure to fix this error? I can't even navigate through the options.
Does it have to do with the unlocking the boot loader in htcdev with ncredible S( asia wwe)?

Yes that's normal, the ruu cannot run on an unlocked bootloader so the script automatically locks it.
RUU didnot work, the error is that the mobile is of different version,
what should I do next?

Download the RUU.exe.
Assuming you have the correct drivers installed on your pc which can be achieved by downloading and installing HTC sync manager, plug your device into your pc and double click on the RUU.exe file.
*An RUU.exe will wipe your device so you will have to set it up again from scratch when you have finished.

my last question, can I install stock RUU and my device will be regular device? If yes. Where can I get stock ruu?
because I bought my device from eBay the the Bayer wasn't told me its dev edition..
I don't know what you mean by "stock" and "regular". The developer edition is basically the same AT&T version, but with unlocked bootloader. It's not irregular.

Are you defiantly sure it is a developer edition? Considering the bootloader is "Relocked" They shipped with the bootloader unlocked.

there is a lot of ruus.. which one i choose?
Pretty sure you don't have a developer edition. If you had red text when booting up the phone, it just means the phone has been tampered with, generally speaking.
If you can get to the bootloader (turn phone off, then hold the volume down button, then press and release the power button), Once you're in the bootloader, look to see if your device says S-Off or S-On. Also, it should say OS-[numbers and dots]. Post what it says there. If you're unable to get into the bootloader, it may be difficult or impossible to recover the device.
this what is showing what i do it.

That should be the RUU you need to run. Put the phone in bootloader mode, select fastboot by pressing power when fastboot is highlighted, plug the phone into the computer, and run this RUU.
This is my educated guess. But if it were my phone, this is what I would do to recover it.
---------- Post added at 09:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:07 PM ----------
Assuming this RUU is successful, you should be able to immediately update to Android 4.3. Also, the tampered and security warning will likely go away.
If any of this is successful, please hit the thanks button. I hope this works out!
it wasn't successful
when the process in Sending Signature I get the message (attached)..

I just got my HTC One less than a week ago and today it wanted to update to android software 4.3 I believe. I honestly dont know anymore cause I cant check. I downloaded the update and clicked install. It restarted and now has been stuck at the white HTC logo screen without quietly brilliant. It has been like that for almost 3 hours and actually died completely I plugged it up and let it charge and turned it back on and still stuck on this screen I even tried to factory reset with the power button volume down boot thing. Sorry im not smart with this stuff. When I did factory reset it went to a black screen with a green load logo then went back to this screen. Just made an account to post this someone please help. Thanks.

Needing some help if you anyone can help at all. I was trying unroot my Sprint M8. Something went wrong when I flashed stock recover wrong, I don't know what but the issues started after that, and now it keeps booting into bootloder mode and won't go pass that. I have contacted HTC Premium Support to see if they have any advice still waiting to hear back. I have contacted Sprint and they have told me to take into a store to see if it can be repaired. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to fix this? Or do you know if it can be fixed by Sprint of if that is wasting a trip. Any help would be much appreciated. Don't know if this is the right forum or not. If not I'm sorry. Thanks for anyone in advance who has any advice tips or whatever it may be..

Download the latest RUU, and make sure that the appropriate drivers are on your computer.
Also, make sure that you lock your bootloader (fastboot oem lock) before running the RUU if you are S-On. If you're S-Off, just run the RUU as is.
If that doesn't work, come back here.
Edit: Magnum responded while I was still typing. Listen to him.
And to respond your question, the RUU is run from the bootloader screen, so you're exactly where you need to be.

I have a question im on a stock rooted rom with no system changes except for the boot up sound which i restored. I flashed the stock recovery and then tried to take the OTA but it failed about a quarter of the way through. would my best bet be to just flash the firmware and flash a 4.4.4 stock rom with the eye feature when available or do I just do a RUU? Im just trying to keep phone up to date with stock rom. any suggestions?

I have a question im on a stock rooted rom with no system changes except for the boot up sound which i restored. I flashed the stock recovery and then tried to take the OTA but it failed about a quarter of the way through. would my best bet be to just flash the firmware and flash a 4.4.4 stock rom with the eye feature when available or do I just do a RUU? Im just trying to keep phone up to date with stock rom. any suggestions?

Currently there is no stock rooted ROM for 4.4.4. You can update your firmware if you'd like and then wait for someone to publish a stock rooted ROM. Otherwise you can troubleshoot the reason you can't install the OTA and go from there.

Flash TWRP 2.6.3.3 then use it to install this rom https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358545524
In the Aroma installer choose options
Stock Recovery = Yes
Stock Radio = Yes
Root = No
When its done reboot the phone. you should be back to stock. Also OTA updates should work

It will install stock with root if you install an OTA you will have to reroot afterwards.
Obviously if you select no to stock recovery you'll stay with TWRP but OTA installs will fail.
One last thing if you ever thought about going s-off do it before you use any OTA updates.
With hboot 1.56 and stock Rom you can s-off with rumrunner for free. If you update to hboot 1.57 the only method is Sunshine and it costs $25 :good:

You need s-off to go back to 100% stock. What was the error rumrunner gave.
It may be some time before I reply, I'm about to sit down to a meal

About the stock recovery, it's normal for it to go to a black screen. After a while it should display an image of a phone with red exclimation. That's normal too.
At this point hold volume up and press the power button to see the recovery menu. Ignore the errors about mount sd card that's also normal

It's totally up to you it depends how you feel about it. If the device still has warranty you will need s-off should you ever want to claim on it. It's also the reason I pointed you to the Stock reset rom rather than the RUU. Because the latest available RUU for your device has a lower firmware version than currently on the device. So you need s-off to use it.
But if your not that bothered then just go ahead and keep the device s-on. It just means that if you update the device and then later need s-off for some reason your only way will be Sunshine which you have to pay for. So i preffer to make people aware of it. But its totally up to you :good:
