My M7 is running T-Mobile US Stock 4.4.2/5.5 ROM with ElementalX 14.0 kernel, rooted, unlocked, S-OFF. Since updating to the OTA 4.4.2 ROM, there are some strange issues that happen when using Wi-Fi. When I'm at home I have the phone always connected to Wi-Fi (using a 5GHz band 802.11n connection). What I've noticed are two problems. The first one is that I cannot receive MMS messages when I'm connected to Wi-Fi. When someone attempts to send me an MMS, I will get an error message that the message cannot be downloaded. I can then disconnect from Wi-Fi (which makes the phone use the LTE connection) and immediately the MMS is downloaded and can be viewed. Note that I can send MMS when Wi-Fi is connected, I just cannot receive them.
The second issue has to do with the Google Play Store. Most of the time when I get app update notices, the apps will update without a problem. However, there are some apps that just won't download if I'm connected to Wi-Fi. In the Play Store, the "downloading" status will just never update, it will eventually time-out. If I disconnect from Wi-Fi (and again, connect to LTE), I can then download/update the app without any problem. And like I wrote, this is only on some apps, most of them will update over Wi-Fi without a problem. It totally baffles me what could cause these issues.
My APN settings are default for T-Mobile US, since it is the stock ROM. My Wi-Fi connects to Comcast cable and uses Google DNS, so that's pretty standard and nothing is blocking websites/access.
Any ideas? Anyone else experience these issues?
Nobody else seen any of this?

Last night I updated to the OTA Gingerbread firmware update and have been having WIFI connection issues. I have tried changing the sleep state settings, disabling 3G and performing numerous factory resets. The WIFI connects, disconnects, scans for the router connects and repeats the process ad infinitum. A call to Sprint customer service resulted in "Please take the unit back to the store so the firmware can be DOWNGRADED." It was a very short call and I forgot to ask if there were other people with the same issue, but I am assuming it may be. Could someone else confirm or verify they have or do not have any WIFI problems. This is mostly for my own curiosity but maybe it's something else too.

Worked normal for me on Gingerbread...
Yup, my tab is working flawlessly on wifi. And i spend all day on it (WPA2 enterprise and WPA2-PSK.)
I don't. Try rebooting. Try flashing with Odin back to ea24.
Sounds like your update was corrupted. Try reverting back to ea24 and re-upgrading to gingerbread again. The instructions are all over in the development section. If you take it in it sounds like that is what sprint is going to do for you.
I have experience similar issue before "connects, disconnects, scans for the router connects and repeats the process ad infinitum". At that time, my solution is(suppose the network name is MyWifi) "Wi-Fi settings"->"MyWifi"->Forget.
Then, re-scan this network, re-enter the password etc...
Thanks for all the replies. I had to reflash the rom after a full wipe. Now that there is a rooted version I did the same thing...flashed twice to be sure.

Thanks for the tip, I was having a severe wifi problem after the upgrade and that fixed it right up.
Hi
A few days ago I started experiencing a strange issue that I just can't resolve.
Certain apps and accounts, i.e. Facebook, email, playstore, Google, Flip board etc. simply will not load/refresh/sync over mobile network. However, I can still browse the Internet using various apps (chrome, stock browser). With Spotify, I can stream music but am unable to download. There is no issue with the data connection as I am getting 'H' or '3g' and showing decent stats on Speed test. I have no issues at all over Wifi - everything works perfectly.
It's as if something is preventing apps from syncing/refreshing over the network but not affecting Internet access.
I have an unbranded device with a sim only Talk Talk deal.
Kitkat 4.2.2
4.12.401.11
I'm going to do a hard reset next but wondered if there was another solution.
Any ideas?

At work we had a phone that did not want to sync email on 3G. (Perhals other apps, we did not check.)
It turned out his phone was roaming on 3G, and the email client was set not to push mail when roaming.
I think the guy had bad signal on its own network on this location and so the phone was roaming.
He could still use his browser and many other apps without any problems.
Maybe it has nothing to do with your problem but I thought I should post it.
Because it sure has many things in common, also in this example on WIFI everything would work fine.
Kind regards, Stefan.
Thanks for that, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a roaming issue.
I've just factory reset the device, completely wiped everything. Tries to log into Facebook and the same thing happened. Switches to WiFi and it worked straight away.
I tried forcing the mobile data to only use WCDMA. This actually seemed to resolve the problem temporarily and I was able to update Facebook however it soon reverted to how it was and I was unable to sync email, update Facebook or download on Spotify unless over WiFi.
I'm wondering if it's the Sim card or possibly a problem with the phone but I'm struggling to understand (albeit with limited knowledge) how this strange behaviour could be hardware related...
Hello,
Recently something happen to my mobile data connection. I got full signals bar H/H+ next to it but when try to use anything that need data connection, I got message cannot connect.
The data sending arrow shows but not receiving one. Usually turning off and on mobile data fixes that issue but not for long. At first I tough that is stamina related but it can happen even during browsing/facebooking so not sleep mode related.
No problem with receiving/ sending texts or calls, seems only data related. And no such problem over WI-FI, it maintain to stay connected all the time.
I recreated firmware using PC companion but nothing. I tried my sim card on other phone to find out if network problem but no such issue.
I have used generic .157 software after root without unlocking bootloader.
I got that phone for about a year without any problems, unfortunatelly bought second hand and no chance to send to warranty
Maybe anyone has some ideas to try.
Thanks
Do you use any apps for blocking ads?
I had porblems with most sites including google and its apps not getting connection. I finally figured out that it was the ad blocker i used and that i had to upgrade my hosts files again (even if there was no new update) in order to get connections working again. hope that helps

No I do not use any ads blocking apps. It occurs on fresh install, unrooted as well. Today suddenly stops playing spotify music and said connection error but for signal bars and H+ ;(
only thing i can think of is if you maybe have you data settings corrupted. That would cause your connection to not work. Does the internet work on some things but not others? And can you connect to internet with WiFi enabled?
Hi, I'm new here so forgive me if I do something wrong^^
First of all, I have a Moto G 2014, Dual Sim which is running on 5.1.1, to be more specific, this ROM. I was using this ROM for about 4 months already so that shouldn't be the issue. My problem is that after my phone connects to the internet, usually using H+. The connection to the internet is working perfectly fine, but after a while of not using the phone it loses the connection. It still tells me that it got a strong H+ connection, but nothing (browser, apps, anything) is able to connect to the internet. Enabling & disabling airplane mode usually fixes the problem. From time to time it also happens, usually when I lost some sort of wifi connection (regardless if I disabled wifi or I got out of range) it happens that it shows full connectivity but with an exclamation mark. This only goes away if I reboot or enable & disable airplane mode again.
Is this issue known/is there any solution to
I have been experiencing the exact same thing as of lately. I thought it was a byproduct of downgrading from (Stock) Marshmallow to (Stock) Lollipop (yes! it's happening even on stock ROM) where at times the WiFi losses connectivity when the phone had been sleeping for awhile...even though I have the "Keep WiFi on during sleep" option on under WiFi's advanced settings. I had no idea that it also happens with data connections ! ...as I don't use it (too expensive for me), now I'm uncertain what could be the cause. I can see how this would be an inconvenience if you use a lot of social media apps as I sometimes do not get my WhatsApp messages when this happens and sometimes I don't even receive my Hangouts messages until I open the app manually.
It's strange, at times when my phone sleeps for awhile and it losses connectivity and I wake it, it will reconnect just fine and other times it just goes into this state where it reconnects with full signal strength but with an exclamation mark next to the WiFi icon in the notification bar. When this happens, no matter what I try it stays in this state, I tried turning off WiFi and turning it back on, also forgetting the network and entering the info and reconnecting to it but none of that works. I didn't know that turning on and off airplane mode can help....I'll have to try that one, rebooting the phone was the only solution I found which is just inconvenient and somewhat annoying.
I too, am interested in a proper solution. I don't know why the phone ignores the "Keep WiFi on during sleep" option or why at times it connects but have not internet access! It should be noted that it's not a problem with the network, It's not due to an incorrect password or anything like that as I am the one that administers those things and when it happens other WiFi devices such as my Tablet PC, Laptop etc can connect and access the internet just fine and it only happens sometimes on the phone (Moto G 2014). This doesn't seem to happen in Marshmallow...but I hate Marshmallow and I can't remember having this issue on Lollipop post Marshmallow update (how I wish I had never tried out Marshmallow!!!), which is why I thought it was related to downgrading, .......did you downgrade ?
Hi,
So since the last update I can't get my WiFi to work properly at home. Every other device is fine. I have the EU version
My connection sometimes drops after a few minutes and comes back but with no internet acces, still connected to the WiFi.
So sometimes I don't even notice i'm not connected and not receiving any updates from the internet (WhatsApp etc), is this a known issue, can I rollback my device somehow?
Kind regards

Either it's your router or your recent update. I personally think you may need to do a clean flash of the latest xiaomi.eu 9.12.27 or whatever it is. I had a problem with my fingerprint sensor where it didn't receive a clear picture of my thumb. Maybe something wasn't complied correctly.
