Hi,
I have read various return to stock guides, but seem to be getting more and more confused!
I am currently running TWRP and CM11 on my HTC One. Before loaded CM I did a full TWRP backup of my stock Sense ROM.
Here is my getvar all info:-
(bootloader) version: 0.5

I cannot find the Orange UK RUU file anywhere which is causing me the biggest headache. Given the information I have provided, what is the best way to get my phone back to 100% stock? (locked/no tamper message etc and able to receive updates).
Many thanks,
Andy
Restore your backup, unroot, restore official recovery, should be ok to leave s-off, relock bootloader. Factory reset. Think that should suffice.

Thanks very much. So, apologies for my simplistic view on these things, but I am not that experienced with this.
* Copy the backup file to my phone
* Boot to recovery and do a TWRP recovery of the backup file
Once there, where do I find the official recovery? Is this specific to my region and carrier (Orange UK)?
Thanks for the quick response.
Andy
Once your backup is restored, your can check Rom version from settings. Recovery should be standard for that Rom version, there are a few threads with stock recoveries. In boot loader command is: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img sorry I'm on train can't go in depth right now. Good luck

I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I will restore my ROM and check the version. I'm not in a huge rush so if you our someone else is around to guide me then that's great.
Ok, I've restored my stock backup. I now have 4.3 running with TWRP recovery. I'd like to get to the point where I can do an OTA update to 4.4.2.
What's the next step?
Anyone?

I'm not that confused really, I'm more struggling to find the recovery for Orange UK. Does anyone know where I can find it?

Thanks.I've read through that guide. The only option for my phone is a CWM nandroid file. Will this out the stock recovery back on my phone that is running TWRP or is that just the stock OS.without recovery?

Thanks, sorry I missed that.
That list does not appear to include the Orange UK RUU unless I'm missing something. I believe is should be 3.63.61.1, but I have searched everywhere but cannot find it. Is there another option?
Also, my main PC is running Windows 8.1 - I believe there can be a problem using this? I do have access to a Win7 machine if thats safer.
Sorry for being such a pain about this!
I have found this:-
http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads/P70
Which includes Orange UK. Are these the recovery files as they appear much larger than the ones posted elsewhere?

Those are kernel source codes, they won't do you any good.
RUU and OTA can be found http://www.htc1guru.com/ or http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=M7
Thanks,
I have downloaded a CWM nandroid backup for Orange UK. The file includes the recovery.img file within the archive - is this the stock ROM?

yes a different one will work, but as mentioned in the guide:
Since recovery is not exactly your version, you may need to reboot your phone manually if it doesnt by itself

Hi, the Nandroid backup was one I created through TWRP before flashing CM11 originally. Which recovery should I use for Orange UK? Do I simply pick another UK carrier? Or maybe another Orange recovery (e.g. France?)
If I dont have the correct recovery installed for my region/carrier, will that stop me from receiving OTA updates?

Hi,
I am on Vodafone Germany. I have to send my Phone for repair. I need to unroot and get rid sign of TAMPERED.
I have read that i need to install RUU at the end. I have not able to find VODA Fone CID VODAP102 RUU.
I have install CWM and the back of CWM Nandroid Backup / CID VODAP102 / 1.29.161.7 but I am not able to get rid of TAMPERED message.
Kindly help and point me to right RUU.
Regards
Zeeshan
any body`? any idea ?
Tampered means you have a custom recovery installed. If you install the stock HTC One recovery, that tampered sign is supposed to go away.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38504123
Just flash the stock recovery in fastboot and update us with the result.
All the RUUs available are found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207874
I'd be lying if I said I know which one you're supposed to install, sorry.
do s-off with supercid and you can install any ruu then you can relock bootloader and s-on and it wont say relocked on bootloader screen just dont mess with h-boot and s-on you will brick
Even after installing Stock Recovery, it still says TEMPERED.
If lock the bootloader it say Relocked otherwise unlocked.
If i change CID then It will be no longer Vodp102 ??
What to do next

So if i get you correctly,
I Change CID to SUPERCID
then I can install this RUU
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13. 3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed.exe
and then after installation my phone will be like complete FACTORY RESET with everything like not TEMPERED or RELOCKED etc ??
After that without root, i can still change CID ??

just download the closest one if there isnt one for your carrier then thats the best you can do. unless you can find a nandriod from vadafone or whatever carrier you have
You could try to install a Nandroid back up of a Vodafone Germany Firmware
http://www.handy-faq.de/forum/htc_o...rom_wiederherstellen_via_nandroid_backup.html
Scrolling down a little there is a link to the Vodafone Nandroid Back Up 1.29.....
You find all Info you need, German Forum with several active xda members there.
After that you can flash the stock recovery, lock the bootliader and then S-on, if I am not mistaken.
Good luck

I am not using any custom rom. I just rooted my phone and CWM touch recovery rest everything is default. So it is Stock customized version of Vodafone.
Then you should try first with a Custom ROM. See if that takes care of the hissing.
Try for example InsertCoin 1.0.8
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2279766
Do first Nandroid Backup of your current rooted stock Vodafone ROM, then flash IC 1.0.8 (that definitely has no hissing and is also based on 1.29 so no hassle with SDcard backing up and moving stuff around which you have to do with a ROM based on 2.17)
Then you know for sure!

Is there an easy way to do Nandroid backup other then this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818321 ???
I want to try the ROM you suggested.
Yes, of course!
Have the .zip of the InsertCoin 1.0.8 on your SDcard.
Boot up into your recovery, either CWM or TWRP, and select BackUp, then let it run, takes a few minutes.
Then do a factory reset/wipe cache, select then Install zip from SDcard, choose InsertCoin.zip and follow the instructions.
Use vol +/- and Power Buttons in Aroma Installer rather than touchscreen as Aroma freezing issues. Then finally boot up and see if you still have the hissing.

Just a Nandroid on your fone within your recovery is fine. The instructions in that thread there needs some adb knowledge.
After you did a nandroid (= back up) you can copy it to your computer. Takes only a few moments

Hi all,
I have the revolution HD Rom installed on my device and I got an unlock code online from a site I trust and bought from in the past (I say that to point out that I don't think that the problem is with the key itself)
When I tried to apply it though, it said that it is wrong...
I know it sounds weird, but my research shows that it might be related to me having a custom rom installed - something about changing the baseband?
Either way, I'd love for some community help on this - is this possible?
If so, what is the quickest/painless way to get back to stock? will that require a full factory reset?
will I lose the unlock again when I switch back to the rom?
Please help as I'm currently out of the country and have no phone
Thanks!!!

You can either restore a nandroid of your stock ROM or flash an RUU. Try your code again after going to stock and it'll work.

What region is the phone from and what carrier? It's probably better if you can post your CID, which you can obtain by using the CID Getter app on the play store.

You don't need to do all that, just use a Guru Reset ROM for your firmware, that will work (confirmed from several other users, with the same situation as yours). can you post a "fastboot getvar all" (remove IMEI and s/n) and I'll point you in the right direction

Just restore a stock AT&T nandroid and you should be good to go. Afterwards, you can install custom ROMs, your unlock will stick.
EDIT: You can restore this nandroid http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/htcone-32gb-att-1-26-502-10-twrp-stock-zip/

Try this one: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_1-26-502-12-zip/
It's slightly newer than your version but I think it should work, you can deselect "stock recovery" and "stock radio" during the install, as you won't need those.
BTW: why don't you S-Off? (just a question, I'm in no way implying you do anything you're not comfortable with!!)

Sorry, I didn't get your question, and lots of different approaches to the same thing. If you want my opinion:
1- do a nandroid backup of your current setup
2- copy (or pull) everything to your PC, just in case
3- use the Guru Reset (http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_1-26-502-12-zip/), that's a flashable zip in custom recovery, do not select "stock recovery" (actually you have to uncheck it)
4- do not take any OTAs
5- use your SIM unlock code
6- restore your nandroid backup
if in step 5 the SIM unlock code doesn't work, then you can explore other options
That's my humble opinion.

I guess the stock reset is fine, the main goal is to get you back to the stock carrier ROM for the unlock code to work.

Thanks for the tip,
I followed the instructions to the letter and now it seems like I'm stuck on the HTC ONE boot screen...
I tried restarting once (after letting it idle for a good 10 minutes I think)
now I'm just staring at it, not really sure what my next step should be... could it just be that I need to wait?
On a positive note, I can still access fastboot/recovery so I guess worst case, I can do a factory reset - that oughta fix it, right?
Question about that - if I do that, will I still be able to do the nandroid restore and go back to my original state?
Thanks

The way I usually know if the bootup is stuck or not, is: after a few minutes (something like 2 or 3 minutes, maybe less) the screen will change brightness, if it does I know it's not stuck, if the brightness doesn't change, I force a reboot and reflash.
I recommend you reboot to recovery, and restore your backup, just to have a functioning phone, then check the MD5 sum of your download to make sure it's OK.
I'm about to flash the Guru Reset that also got the other guy "stuck", to see if it works or not....

Thanks

1st. You have to choose whether your going with the STOCK ROM method or NANDROID BACKUP method.
2nd. After you install the stock rom, the stock rom will let you choose if you want to install super user or not. And I did not install super user using the stock rom. I did it manually.

http://www.htc1guru.com/2013/11/guru-reset-3-63-707-4-stock-rom/
So ive been helping out as much as i can in the Q&A threads, but alot of the resources that are usually needed are scattered around in links,so ive decided to post the latest RUUs per carrier i could find.
For some unapparent reason, the ROM downloads page on the htc website is still outdated with LP RUU links, whereas most of the usual carriers have MM available.
Sprint MM:
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-desire-626s-sprint/news/
Boost Mobile MM:
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-desire-626s-boost/news/
MetroPCS MM:
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-desire-626s-metro-pcs/news/
T-Mobile US MM:
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-desire-626s-t-mobile/news/
Virgin Mobile MM:
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-desire-626s-virgin-mobile/news/
At the bottom of each respective page, theres a download link for the full RUU thats specific to your device.
If anyone has any other RUUs/Carriers theyd like added please let me know.
Keep in mind,in order to run these RUUs,your Bootloader MUST be locked/Relocked via fastboot.
After the RUU,you can reunlock your bootloader using the htcdev process again.if you saved your unlocktoken great,if not just request another.
The command to relock your bootloader is "fastboot oem lock" without quotes.
awesome thank you so much, very clear, re-locked BL and RUU

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, Verizon is not listed in HTC link, my phone is softbricked, since its s-off I can easily recover with a RUU. I am not sure if it is possible to recover with syncmanager since the phone is in softbricked state.

If theres no RUU available for your carrier, youre better off not messing with anything.if the changes you make end you in a bootloop or something, they may not be fixable dependent upon when an RUU is available.

It was hard to find the original recovery... and yes, I flash thru fastboot mode.
When i flash the TWRP.img, after reboot to recovery i get a black screen. I think this is the 32-bit version.
My options are: Flash a custom recover and then a custom ROM. Or execute a RUU.exe that match my phone.
What do you think GotHeart?

Don't worry! I have fault here, because i didn't explain myself.
Well... I bought this phone on ebay, is a unlocked version. The information that i have is:
Box:
HTC Desire 626 (OPKX200-BL)
Octa-Core 1.7 Cortex-A53, 1GB Ram, 16 HDD
Phone:
(bootloader) product: a32_ul
modelid: 0PKX20000
But... when the phone was ok I installed cpuz.apk and saw the qualcomm chip, and it was a quad-core. To be more i upgrade to marshmallow version using OTA update provided by the phone.
In gsmarena dot com i try to distinguish my phone but i cant.
I bought the unlocked 626 direct from HTC unfortunately I never unlocked the bootloader and recently it got stuck in a boot loop after an OTA update. I believe the firmware is the same as the ATT version however since its using a different cid (BS_US001) I am unable to load the firmware. Any chance anyone has the RRU for this?
Nice

Firstly, you need to remove your IMEI unless its dummy IMEI.
Secondly, what is the current status of the device, can you provide some explanation as to what do you need ? Do you need stock ROM, custom ROM, are you on TWRP.
I see its an orange device, but from which country ?

My apologies as I did not notice.
In this case you have more than 1 option.
You can download the stock from here, Latest available version : http://6468.ir/dl/?r=69941de85dfdb4dd73025bba2768d3ce
View the attachment to press the right button for download, site is not English.
You will need stock recovery to flash stock firmware.
Flash details can be found here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-mini-2/general/htc-one-mini-2-official-ruu-t3425930
Or you can do from a Nandroid Backup using TWRP without having to flash stock recovery but you will need a Nandroid Backup of the same device with stock ROM.

The origin of the devices is UK orange. I bought it in the UK. As for the nandroid bkups they get stuck on the htc logo or they post signature failure. the only software accepted are the custom ones. Beside those ones nothing worked.
*** the file that you pointed for download matches my build but its kinda impossible to download due to slow download speed provided by the website and there are no other alternative websites to get it from

If the device is UK Orange and your Radio number indicates an O2, have you purchased a new unit, I'm having a feeling it might have SuperCID but for that you need to have S-Off ?
If they get stuck on HTC Logo, you might want to flash the boot file for your device after restoring from a Nandroid backup.
You can try and add that file into a download manager and have a peace of mind there.

Probably you are right about the superCID i really dont know. All i know is that now it says orange001 and S-on even if the radio points to O2. As for the nandroids i have tried all posible ways. Flushed boot before and after the firmware and still gets stuck on the htc logo... maybe i didnt quite got the right nandoid for the device... as none of them had the radio or build version as mine.
