Slimkat. I tried that and it said mobile network not available?
Installed a zip that has allowed me to edit apn, but it still doesn't work with my straight talk sim.

Well you need to write back you apn settings for your carrier.
That is one thing that you should have made a backup of before you flashed.
These settings you can often find on your carrier webpage.

APN list is blank and new APNs cannot be added

I flashed AOKP Milestone 6 last night and have been setting up this Captivate as my boyfriend's first smart phone but I've run into a problem: I can't seem to save an APN. He'll be using it on Straight Talk so I checked out this thread: Straight Talk APN Settings. I entered all that information into their fields, hit menu > save, and was taken back to a blank screen titled "APNs."
I've tried this three times and rebooted each time but always in vein. I thought that it may be this way because there is no SIM card inside but, were that the case, why wouldn't APNs change with the SIM card? Any help would be very welcome. I just want him to be able to slip his SIM card into the phone and bask in the glory that is the smart phone without having to fix anything. Cars are his thing, computers are mine.

Yes. Both are the same.
Good. Just trouble-shooting some.
But I'm not sure why the apns are not sticking...

It was soft-bricked for a while but the download mode jig allowed me to Odin back to stock before moving to AOKP.
Did u see this post in the straight talk thread u linked in ur op ??
Seems having the "Proxy: Not set" and "Port: Not set" worked for some users.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31056982
And the MMSC is different than the OP of that thread.

I did. It doesn't seem to matter what I put in or don't (aside from the four required fields: Name, APN, MCC, and MNC) it'll let me either save or back out but always take me back to the blank APN list.
Ok...see this... http://tracfone.deviceanywhere.com/...Id=893&cid=557921&conversationPropagation=end
The settings are different...
Maybe this will work for ya. :good:
Worth a try at least.

They didn't list any values for the MCC and MNC, both of which are required. I used the values given in the XDA post, hit save, and was taken back to a blank APN list.
I don't think that the contents matter. It seems to be something else.
I wonder how the APNs are stored. If it's something like an XML file somewhere on the phone then it could be that the permissions are wrong and Android can't write to the file. I'll try using Clockwork Mod to fix the permissions and see if that helps. There's also a feature in AOKP to have a script do it every startup; I'll try it as well and report back.
No dice. If it's a permissions issue it's not something that either could fix.
U may have to try a different Rom.
?? Don't know what the deal is...

I'm working on redownloading milestone 6 to reflash but if that doesn't work then I'll swap ROMs. Thanks for your help.
[Update] I redownloaded and reflashed AOKP Milestone 6 and still have the same issue. Time to try some other ROMs and hope. [/Update]

Judging from the fact that I saw Straight Talk apns listed above I'm assuming you are on that? Anyway if the answer to that is yes I might suggest CM10 or HellyBean both of which have the proper APNs entered by default for Straight Talk.

##778# wont work

Hi!
I purchased Sprint HTC One. It's already unlocked but not activated. I'm not living in the USA and using GSM operator in my country.
The problem is ##778# menu don't work! I dial the code and nothing happens. I have root, s-off and tried more than 10 ROMS even stock.
Some people say it works like a charm on some ROM even show screenshots, I download it, full wipe, install, dial the code and nothing happens.
I have different device?
The only ROM I have working menu is Bad Boyz but when I try to do some changes its stucking on commit changes. Creators know that trouble but can't fix it yet.
Somebody had such problem as me and got it fixed?
No one?

Being able to change our PRL is cool. Having a PRL to change to is cooler.
Thanks for sharing Benny!
I didn't see this in the OP but dial ##778# enter MSL then select PRL from the menu. In case you weren't aware. Also this seems to be working fine on BS 2.0.
Hey Benny, do you plan on making the Splash Screen creator for the M8 as well?

Yes it is, but i think it is a different partition, with the M8 you no longer need an eng bootloader to flash splah screens.

Was the roam only option there? If so when you select it the little circle icon stays empty but it is on.
Maybe I'll try it again after work today

Your problem is not from rooting. You may have inadvertently messed up something in your system partition. Try to lg flash tool back to stock.

⬆⬆⬆⬆ Rooting cannot break knock on. I would try
1. Make sure it's on and toggle it either way
2. Factory reset after making a LG backup and dragging that file over to your computer. Then reset and drag the file back To the LGbackup folder on your phone. Restore from backup and the whole process shouldn't take more than 5min and you're phone will be exactly the way you had it setup still.

I'd LOVE to know how to fix this issue on AT&T 950 variant. That's the only thing keeping me from flashing back to 4.2.2 so I can install custom recovery. If you know how to fix it when I downgrade from KK to JB I'd be forever grateful.

Actually the hidden menu on Sprint does not have the option to fix it. The work around is go into the general section and download my Sprint unlock Rom which is a att Rom. Then use the att dialer code and get into the hidden menu. Then go into recovery and run a back up. You will have knock on again.

I have flashed the LS995 Rom that you provided to return to stock, and yet the knock on is not working. I dont know why.
Yes, the ATT Rom that you provided is great, it can repair the Knock by access the dialer code.
After I fix the knock on, and I use TWRP backup to restore System, Data, Cache, EFS, Boot, but the knock on is gone again on Sprint Rom.
Do you have any guide to restore back the knock?Or I perform a wrong way?
Or perhaps there's a way just to get the touch firmware from AT&T or AT&T Hidden menu LoL and install it to Sprint LS995 Rom.
I would appreciate your help.
