hey guys,
so I got my M8 2 weeks ago from the UK imported to Germany and they have of course different charger pins. Right now I am using my M7´s charger with 1A output, which is rather slow of course compared to the 1.5A of the M8 charger. I tried to find a original HTC europe charge on ebay and amazon etc with no success.
Does anyone know where I can get one from ?
1.5 A?
My charger is only 1A and it is the stock one
And yes, it charges slowly.

M8 charger is 1.5 A. The m7 had 1.0 as well as lots of other htc devices. Using a 1.5 one will charge your phone considerably faster.

If I were you, I would probably just buy a 1.5A charger from a decent brand that would work. It'll be easier to find and probably cheaper as well, and it will work just the same.

FYI, the charger for the Samsung S4/Note2/3 runs at 2amp and will charge the device much faster. My previous phone is an S4 so I can tell you that it works well.

I was wondering this myself. I hate how short the HTC cord is and I still have my s4 brick/cord.. been thinking about using it but didn't want to burn anything up. Same reason I'm hesitant on buying third party cords.

I've been using the 2.0a from my Nexus 7, doing full charge cycles (Yes I know, people believe the new batteries don't NEED conditioning, or full discharge cycles, and someone will surely link some random site that says full discharges may even be BAD for the battery - save it, just showing what I got), letting it die, and fully charge while off - roughly 60-90 minutes, I haven't set a stop watch to it. This is what I've gotten under light usage, reg power saver, 1hr+ talk time every day (2 30+ min calls minimum), brief gameplay/facebook and 20+ texts a day.
Sprint version on WiFi, GPS / bluetooth off, brightness 70%, NFC off, reg power saver (not extreme).

No. The only time my phone gets hot is when I'm using it while maintaining 4G signal in a bad area.

how long it took for the to ship it to your door?
Took about 2 weeks I think, not bad compared to some case I bought from overseas takes almost a month to arrive.
I compared it to my Tmobile oem charger, the writing is different, I dont know how international version looks like, but if it's non oem, the quality is so damn close to the original.
Sorry havent got chance to use it, since I left it at office for emergency, but since the batt is so good I never ran out of juice at work, so different with my prevous s3.
Mine was delivered in 11 days. Looks like OEM to me, works as expected.

I ordered some off EBAY - they say 1A but they charge just as fast as they are supposed to.
This is a 2A and it definitely charges faster than when I use my old OGN 1A charger. I now have 2 x 2A chargers that I keep in my offices for when I need a quick bump in battery level and the old 1A stays by my bed for the overnight charge.

there is a much easier solution, buy the tablet charger they are rated at 2.1A
you can get either the Apple one or the Samsung one and get the micro usb cable so it fits the note.
I like to keep 2 charges one for work and the other at home, carrying it you are bound to forget it, but even if you do the battery on the note 2 is beast.

Is it possible the voltage is more important than the amperage? Because these charge fine.
Or should I be concerned?

That's a solution, but you'll need to explain how it's easier than buying a $12 2A OEM charger which comes with the cable.

In this case the amperage is what makes the difference. The GN2 will take advantage of the extra amps where the GN1 would only take advantage of up to 1A (maybe a little more). If they work fine for you, there is no reason to be concerned. Maybe a bit slower charge but it's not a problem.

The hyperion is what I would go with for an extended battery or if you just wanted to swap out batteries I would go with the Anker batteries.

I would go External such as the Anker Astro3 10000mha. It goes for $50. The nice thing, it has two USB ports. It has extensions that can be use for devices without USB ports like radios. I use it with an ASUS Transformer Infinity Pad which needs 2.1amps at 12V to charge.
You can also looke at Monoprice. They carry some external batterries. Life Hacker last week had an article, Five Best External Batteries, a Monoprice was recommended. A different Astro as well.
If may be worth checking out the Astro Pro2 20000mha. Only has one USB port, but can still use with other devices. It's $90, which is double the cost of the Astro3, but also double capacity.
Wait a few days, zerolemon might be back in stock

Ahh I got mine before I think the reason why they may be discontinued it was simply because of the fact that the battery cover design didn't latch in all the way and that could have been simply fixed by doing it properly but I guess they were too cheap to do that so they just stopped altogether.

Hyperion is a good one.
I'm very happy with my Hyperion 6200mAh battery but I recommend getting the tpu case with it for about $10 more. The back cover is very slippery without a case. I'm getting around 13-14 hours of screen time with it.
With my heavy usage I'd still need 2 of these Hyperion batteries for a 4 day trip lol.

Not really. The E4 has a 13000 battery. But it doesn't have DC port to power other devices that are not USB powered. Although, the E4 is new, it's not as robust. There is a nice thread to illustrate the point about being more robust: [ASUS Transformer Infinity Pad(TF700) 10,000 mAh external battery for your TF700 (and other devices)!!. That thread is actually how I learned about it and why I got one.
I have used it with GN2 at sporting events and various other locations where I knew I would be in heavy use and wanted to make sure the phone would last all day. It's pretty portable too. It's fairly portable. Something that should be easy to take on trips. I did two comparison shots

Yeah, like said above, go to menu > make available offline. You can make multiple offline maps for different areas (there is a size limit for each map). Be aware, to use the navigation, even with offline maps, you have to have a data connection 1st.
Another option is to download an offline app like Open Street Maps or any other to your liking.

it's about both, you need both the receiver and transmitter for wireless charging.
I investigated wireless charging for a time, but it appears nearly all wireless chargers charge at a particularly slower rate (0.5A). With such a big battery on the Note 2, this leads to pretty crazy charge times. Having said that, there are 'some' chargers which are 1A, like so:

I just bought a 3rd party receiver sticker and charging pad. The receiver sticker is placed beneath the back cover. It works with Samsung charger comes with the phone. When I place my Note 2 on the pad, there is a pop up message saying "Wireless charging - You have placed the device within range. Now charging wirelessly...". I am testing how long it will take to have a complete charge. The initial feeling is that the charging is slower as compared with wired charging with Samsung charger.

Synergy Wireless Charger
Hi Bryan792 and jyan_osu,
Thanks for mentioning Synergy. I'd be more than happy to answer any additional questions anyone has in this forum. Synergy might disrupt the earth's magnetic field when using the Compass, but any receiver module with a magnet could have a similar impact on the earth's magnetic field. If you use the compass regularly, wireless charging may not be for you. Please note that we have not experienced any issues with the Note 2 pen.
For more information about Synergy, please go to Kickstarter.com and search "Synergy".
Thanks again.
Hopefully someone here can help. I absolutely love my s6 Edge. What I don't love is the battery life. Today I took it off the charger at 6:40am. By 3pm I was down to 31%. I fully charged it and at 11:20pm I'm down to 18%. I'm looking for an ultra portable charger. Something small that can give me one full charge. Small enough to fit in my pocket and wouldn't be noticeable or uncomfortable. Preferably with a built in cord.

best portable battery charger. it has Qualcomm's fast charge 2.0 to charge your phone and it will charge itself using fast charge too. its also aluminum.
I have the LithiumCard and love it for it's portability.
http://linearflux.com/lithiumcard/main.html
The PRO will charge the S6 Edge fully once. The regular LithiumCard will give the phone about a 40% - 45% charge which is usually more than enough to get me through the rest of the day should I need a quick top off. Best thing is they have a built in USB plug for charging (can do pass-through charging) as well as a micro-usb so you don't need to carry any extra cables. They charge the phone fairly quickly also.
When I want a little more juice that can do two full charges, I carry this. It's a bit bulkier than the LithiumCard (but in no way considered bulky compared to other power banks, IMO) and it usually stays in my backpack/briefcase/etc. This also supports Quick Charge 2.0 (Fast Charge)

Just wanted to post this 3000mAh lipstick sized battery back-up. It has worked great for us and we have used it for about 3 to 4 months now. It was one of the only really small sized 2.1A battery back-ups I could find. There are a few listed here so if you like it make sure to select the one that currently costs $12.99 the others are only 1A chargers. We like this one so much I have ordered 4 to give away as gifts.

does anyone know if there is a fast charge power pack with at least 15000mah capacity with a screen saying output and charge left? big ask?
been researching for a long time and haven't found one that actually states it has all of the above…

I have just ordered this and will review it when it arrives. I had the aukey but didn't like that for a battery that size it only had one usb output. This one also supports QC2.0 to charge the pack itself.

I used a custom ROM because I wasn't interested in wasting money on a charging case. If you take the time to read up on that stuff it's actually very useful and free! My battery has never been better.
I would send you a link but I'm new to the XDA group.

I've never had bad battery life on my S6 Edge. Although, when I need a backup I can recommend the Aukey Quick Charge battery pack.

I will keep the original post updated in case I run into any issues or any other things I like about this product.
Packaging
The wireless charger came in a very nice slip cover box that was very well put together to protect the things that it came with. Included in the package was the charger itself, a 3ft. USB cable, a nice set of thorough directions. The only thing I did not like is that it does not come with it's own charging block because the fast charging block that comes with Samsung devices does not work for some reason. It does have to be a 18W charging block otherwise the pad will not charge your device in fast mode
The Charging Pad
The pad is very simple in design and is a very minimal footprint anywhere that you may put it. It only has on port on it, the power input. It would be nice if it had another USB power out on it, but in doing so would make the charging pad bigger in size. It does feature 4 rubber feet on the bottom of the pad that are supposed to help to keep it from slipping around and I found them to do their ob well on all but the smoothest of surfaces. The pad also includes a raised rubber design on the top to keep your phone from sliding off and I found that these actually did a very well at their job, with or without a case. Other than that it has a LED light on one corner that is very bright and easy to see at any time of the day, unless you use a larger phone such as me and then the phone covers the LED.

Wireless Charging
The charging pad actually does a very good job at what it does. For such a small device I was actually getting very close to what a charging cable will apply to the phone with the stock charging block. I used two different apps, Ampre and Galaxy Charging Current to read the charge rate of my Samsung Galaxy s7 Edge. I will update this post later with actual charge times on my phone as it has been difficult to drain this battery and be able to keep and eye on it charging in one sitting.
Overall I really like the charging pad and can see myself using it for quite awhile. It does it a good job at what it was designed to do, but my only complaint is that it does not come with a charging block. This means that you have to use a fast charging one that came with your phone, unless it is a Samsung block, then you have to buy another one.
Thanks for the review.

You need to use a 18W QC 2.0/3.0 wall charger NOT the stock Samsung one because it's only 15.03W. The Samsung one will not allow the charger to provide the full 10W or function properly at all in most cases based on my testing.

I just wanted to add it in because I missed seeing that the first time I read through the OP. It might be a good ideal to bold that part?

I have two of the single coil models and they work great. Dimmer led, fast charge, and got them when they dropped to 12.99 each. Win!

I think they are going to be developing a 15w wireless charger here soon. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

I know Incipio made/releasing soon a 15W wireless charger. My main concern would be the large amount of heat generated by such a powerful wireless charger. I assume they would incorporate a fan of sort like Samsung did on their fasyout (~7.5W) fast charger. The fan seems to allow for a more stable charging rate than you would normally get without one as I noticed while testing each one.
Not really sure. Mine doesn't get hot at all on my choe tech 10w

Mine doesn't get any warmer than it does with the fast wired charger. I think a 15W wireless charger would generate enough heat for you to notice easily, but we will have to see.

Does it charges as fast as the original Samsung wireless charger? Also, is it a reliable company? Since there are many wireless chargers but unknown brands

It chargers faster than Samsung's fast charger. I conducted s thorough test of ally chargers (1 more test coming tonight). You can read through my OP below:

Just like to put my cohetech fast wireless charger in this thread.
This is the single coil plate, but doesn't suffer from placement as it is a large coil inside. So anywhere I put my note 5 on charges every time.
I used to have the round 3 coil charger but prefer this one as its a low profile and your phone covers up the LED whilst it's charging, and heck square is cool
Packaging is pretty my defacto with these products, minimal, compact and no wastage but it is packed really strong and no fear of it arriving broken up or damaged.
These are a little cheaper too than the 3 coil fast charger so it's a pretty good alternative to save a few pounds on something that will perform just as good.
I have the 3 coil one, but see it now says not compatible with the s7. Other ones say not to use the s7 adaptive charger but this now just seems to say not compatible at all. When on the pad there is a quiet clicking noise that worries me but the phone says it's fast charging and it appears to be doing so. However I have no experience of wireless charging and no desire to risk my nice new phone. Would be grateful for others experiences?
