We all want to take a Galaxy S5 and start washing it under the sink. Okay, fine.
But please remember to not use any detergents, window cleaner or any other chemicals. Use only water and a soft terry cloth towel. The oleophobic coating on your screen can be damaged by soaps. This means your screen will show fingerprints much sooner than it would by simply wearing out over time.
You can re-apply an oleophobic coating using 3rd party solutions such as that found on Amazon. But most/all 3rd party oleophobic coatings have mixed reviews.
So, no soap for your S5!

I've seen it mentioned by 5-10 different posters so far.
It's a water resistant phone.
Heck, I know I'm going to do it (but without soap). hahah
But I'm glad you were able to increase your post count by finding something to ***** about. :good:

You should down your post count buddy, it's not clear for everyone just what kind of liquids the S5 is resistant against.

I have a whole stack of dedicated phone cleaning wipes which I use once every month to clean dust/grease off my phone. I have used them on my tablets bare screen and so far no ill effects after over a year of use.

If you have a case on the phone does that matter? In terms of water-resistance.

NO, but its important to check to make sure the backing is secured correctly. With a case you might not even know it came undone.

I would assume that you would need to take the phone apart and carefully clean everything.

You can use google to find the HTC repair manual online that details how to disassemble the phone. The manual is actually pretty good even for the technically challenged. Like supreme said, you probably have to clean every part because it wasn't water so its not like you can just let it dry out like if spilled water on it. Be careful what you use as cleaners tho and make sure you are grounded when you do it.
In the end.....remember not to cry over spilled milk (sorry, had to do it)

When I became king round here. I already know I'm f'ed in the head.
I would start with bamboo splinters under their fingernails and then wire cutters to pinch pieces of them off while spraying acid into their eyes. Then I would give them a good old fasioned flogging and cover them in salt. I would mutilate every bone in their body, slowly breaking them one by one with a hammer, then throw them into a culdern of boiling oil and watch them burn until I was satisfied with the pain I inflicted. Finally after removing them from the oil and peeling off all their skin I would allow them to succumb to infection and die of septicemia. I would then defile their body with my fecies, and feed them to pigs. F**king Ubuntu!

I am trying to create a boot.img for a kernel that I just mod'ed. This is my first time using Ubuntu and I am getting so frustrated trying to figure it out.
I see, i haven't done that before, so i can't really help you, but have you asked for help in ubuntuforums.org?

Thank You. I will resort to using beer rather than water now.
This is likely water from a pond or something. Not drinking water. And most of those things are harmless.

I know this is quite stupid to post on a developer forum but I'm trying to find a strong gel product. My hair is quite thick so it won't really style the way I would like it. Please do not flame, not really sure where to ask the question and I feel ridiculous asking this. I have already tried Dove Men + Care and it did not work very well.
Stop trolling the forum. Many of you recently had holiday because of this. They will become permanent if this continues.

Recieved this in mail, paid 15$ on Ebay. Did not realize it was flexible rubbery type of case, but I really like it. Totally clear so I can see my phone s Blue (Best Buy Edition) and it has a good lip on front to protect the screen of I set it face down. Plus I also feel like it would actually protect my phone if I drop it, which I have yet to find in use a clear case. The Ballistic Corners are in full effect.

how about a picture of the case itself instead of a render. Cause render don't equal real life oh mr. all knowing.
edit: Here's a picture I found of the case.
edit 2: your response was the reason for my response. A case is very much a visual thing even just seeing a picture of it not on the phone is helpful.
Yeah, unfortunately I have a phone, one. So for me to take a picture of my phone with my phone is kind of difficult. I posted this because I had not read much about this case. I read this section all the time, I see what you guys are talking about, then I usually try YouTube. I don't really understand this all encompassing need to see a picture. Now if my post had said something to the effect of there is no lip on front, or fits too tight, then I would understand someone wanting to see a picture. But when I right I lobe the case, it fits great, etc., how would a picture I post illustrate that to the reader any differently than any picture you may Google? How is lack of a pi ture on a post such as mine so offensive as to warrant snide remarks? This forum is so far out there man. Some really good helpful people on here, but so many arrogant, entitled, keyboard bad asses have made it almost unbearable. I use to think some DEVS and other members were overreacting when they would leave, and say they would never return. I've seen probably many episodes like that. Between the guys who are routinely disrespectful behind the safety of there computer screen, and the power hungry mods that so often act the same way, this forum has become a juvenile playground. What was once a great place to go and ask questions, read opinions, and gather info, is now more trouble than its worth. So feel free now to post all your if you don't like it leave crap, and slam my spelling, grammar, or lack of whatever else you must do to feel superior.
Once again, the Ballistic Jewel case is very cool. I like it. If your looking for a clear case, check it out.
