[Q] Kernel for KitKat - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've read a lot on forums but I can't find a consistent answer.
There are any custom kernel for CM11 on S Advance. I'm quite satisfied with CM11 kernel, but some optimizations are welcome, y'a know...

In latest CM11 there is custom kernel (and in the ones before). It has stuff from CoCore.
You can read its thread, y'a know.

Is it on last CM11 by TeamCanjica (the post on Original Development), or is another custom CM11 build?

It has OC too, like CoCore. But it is not stable, on performance governor it is.

Well, I saw in performance options that the max clock is 1000 MHz, and it has some governors. But at the stock clock the system is fast and smooth, a lot different from the stock JB from Samsung (anyway, I hate that Touchwiz UI).
I'm waiting a CM11 version to my Xperia L too, and I'll see the difference in the two systems.

I do not know that. Maybe Cocafe or someone else find a way to be. Someday.

yeah 3rd one there ends the list
anyone with enough time to spare, experiment with new one then. use the source from maclaw's ics kernel and compile it, then repack with cm7 ramdisk. i'm pretty sure it'll boot.
I checked the stickles thread in the list there are quite a lot of kernels
I don't know which one to select and the kernel threads on reading are all alien very difficult to understand...
If you could help me with a stable kernel with lots of governors
That would be awesome

Hahaha I understand but at this point most of my apps keep crashing and that's because of zimage kernel... I got that because it had two way call recording and it's a pretty good at it
But due to the crash apps I want to revert to a stable kernel... I am not experimenting different kernels just want a new stable one
You get it?

Martin you are a real Devil.
A GOOD Devil.
Thanks for taking care of the problems. I have problems with my build machine and hence the delay in releasing new builds. I have built one today that takes care of the wifi issues. Atleast I dont see any issues.
Keep up the great work. :good:
I was on CyanFox with Gear Kernel. I lost my Baseband after flashing this Kernel. I can't restore it even after flashing a backup.

I think both has it's plus and minus. If you just want to stick with a custom Rom, then it's ok to be with ICS. JB comes in terms of more features that doesn't exist in ICS. I will rather use JB because of the dreaded ICS EMMC Brick

Actually for gaming i prefer underclocking the cpu (1.0 Ghz to prevent thermal throttling) and overclocking the gpu (400Mhz) with tegrak overclock.

Sorry I never had any experience, nor interest on using CM11s. However, flashing Williams kernel won't give you root. I am not even sure if William's kernel would work on CM11s But my guess here it will work, as Williams kernel is for Cyanogenmod based ROMs.

Cyanogenmod ROMs are pre-rooted. You won't require any rooting method after getting CM to run on your phone. But however, do note that CM uses Superuser rather than SuperSU.
I underclocked my SP to 1.2GHz and I really don't face any issues. I don't play any heavy games though by the way, so I can't really tell you the game performance. Things to note however, some people faces multiple issues after flashing CM11. Most of them regarding the ROM being very laggy. I hope you won't face this issue, as it is not quite clear how it happened.

If you don't undervolt then your phone will get too hot / use too much battery when overclocking (going to 1.6). It's best to test how high you can undervolt your phone before it starts to lag / freeze to find the optimal level of undervolting (e.g. my phone freezes at 40mv because of touchboost). If your phone refuses to boot after overclocking / undervolting then you can flash AGNi_reset_oc-uv_on_boot_failure.zip (found in /sdcard) to fix it.
