Problem with wifi and reboots - Moto X Q&A

Hi, I would ask if anyone knows or has ever happened , what happens is that I had a fall walk and bike to fall , scrape some pebble with the back breaking the glass of the lens of the camera , leaving unusable rear camera, and this fall I also stopped working wifi and bluetooth I believe to be a single antenna these two , well my doubt , that may be what happens, if since the fall I stopped to run the wifi even able to activate I get dull button - If not like I have not installed the card, the next day I turn on my mobile now if you let me activate it and I can even use the wifi fine, about 15 - 20min then I restarted the phone and the same way back to the same, and will not let me activate it, will have false contact or must be open and well connected wifi card ? I leave some imgs attached so you can see part of the coup. regards
outside the camera does not work and fails wifi everything is functioning normally

Wifi/GPS problem after motherboard replacement

Hi guys.
Yesterday i replaced motherboard on my N1, previous motherboard was broken, after replacement everything is work fine, except wi/fi and gps. My wi-fi module catches the signal slightly, like w/o antenna, gps have not been able to get to work now.
My question is, where is wi fi module exactly? I try to made some photos of my donor phone with pars in some days, but maybe there is some document or photos with this parts, that I will be able to analyze on my phone
If I remember right, the wifi antenna is hooked up near the upper left side of the phone (screen facing down). Verify that is fully connected.
Check out ifix it they have a tear down of the nexus one so you can see where everything is.
Thx for your advices, i'll try to check antenna

[Q] Wifi not turning on

I bought a galaxy note n7000 from a friend. It has android 4.1.2 installed. build number is n7000XXLSA.
the problem is wi fi doest turn on.I mean whenever i want to switch it on it seems its trying to get on but fails. The green light never shines on it.
The problem i cant understand lies with hardware or software.
Sometimes the wifi gets connected and then it works like a charm. But most of the times no matter how hard i try it never gets turned on. Ive tried factory reset, restart, removing batter and memory card nothing seems to work. I tried wifi fixer app but nothing happened.
I am not very technically aware of rooting, and how to modify it. But i think from what ive learnt is it is caused by updating from ICS to jelly bean 4.1.2
I dont know whether my phone is locked or unlocked, rooted or un rooted cause im totally new with phone.
Please someone guide me how can i rectify this problem, I dont mind taking risk with my phone but wanna know what all should i do to solve wifi issues.
Plus i also would like to update to 4.2.2 kindly let me know step by step starting from basics how should i go about it.
regards
Go to settings and wi-fi and there when you turn on the wi-fi it should show the your network which is remembered and show read something as authenticating obtaining ip addreas and such.. Just select your netwirk once and click on forget and then try to connect again putting in your network key.. To check if you are rooted or not: you must have an app which saya superuser or su.. You can also download root checker app from market to see if you are rooted or not..

I suggest you move on to stunner rom instead. It has all the features of the Rom you are currently using. Stunner is, if I've got it right, built from parts of PA.

Solution found
sorry for the long post but this will work
After three months of dealing with the same problem on my GT N7000 as nashbloom i have found a fix to this wi fi problem.
And I mean WIFI problem. this is not a matter of obtaining a connection, this is a problem where the wifi wont switch on at all.
It trys, to switch on (sort of transition phase) than freezes or fails and turns off again.
Just as I was preparing to back up my phone and take it in to samsung the next day I found a post on a you tube clip saying to clean corrosion built up on wi fi antenna.
Desperate, I tried it,
1. remove 9 screws (dont worry they are all the same size) on back and remove cover
2. with a cotton tip/bud wipe corrosion in top left hand corner (looking at the back of the phone)
3. not knowing what a wifi antenna looks like and having seen no corrosion i wiped everything including the cover.
4. i removed a few connectors and put them back in place.
5. put everything back in place and problem was instantly fixed
I did this two days ago but have had one time where the same problem reoccured, otherwise, perfect.
P.S. This is proof that this is a hardware problem not a software one, but i kind of knew that when i changed every wifi setting on the phone several times
will try these today
I will try these today as soon i get home.. i been looking around for a fix.. I hope these will resolve it

Two months now with this silly wifi issue. Did this trick help with your phone?
I did everything possible trying to solve this problem but to no avail.
Wiped anything that could be wiped on the inside, replaced the USB port board, but wifi is relentlessly disconnecting at random times.
Any idea?

I found something weird.. when the phone is without the back cover wifi works perfect. when I put it back the wifi goes off. ???? I really do not know was wrong with the phone.. (i do not use it anymore).. the only guess is that the back cover pressure something to the board and disconnect the wifi.. I really do not have a explanation.. take care..

Like everyone here, I was having the problem with the greyed out WiFi and also got some practice with flashing firmwares and doing factory resets, backups and restores, all in vane.
I found this post and decided to give it a try, also checking a YouTube video about how to open the GT-N7000
My phone did not have any corrosion, but after reconnecting, i.e. taking out and plugging in again, all connectors to the main board, the WiFi came back to life. That was two days ago. I cannot say it works like a charm, after a couple of hiccups, I just don't trust this phone anymore and I think I had the greyed icon once yesterday when I tried to switch off and on the WiFi.
This experience led me to believe that there is something with the connectors that got loose after my phone has fallen off my pocket a couple of times. If you wear pants that were not designed to carry phablets, this might happen to you as well.
Anyway, a big THANK YOU to atchya for the idea of opening the phone.
Cheers,
[Possible solution]Follow the link how to clean up the connectors
Yeah above solution works. This Is the only way I got my wi-fi to work. Tried re-flashing Rom (downgraded and upgraded) even re-flashed Radio. Finally cleaned up , unconnected and reconnected cables, so far works fine (no greying out of menus etc.) . Will keep you posed
edit: Open the photos in different tabs to see the antenna connectors, they are tagged you will know exactly what to clean

NFC Issue

Hi,
Not sure if this has been posted anywhere before, but I figured I would share this with everyone anyway.
For some weeks now I have been having issues with my SP C5303 (Stock Voda Rooted and Recovery Installed) where it randomly beeps and vibrates. I call this vibr-eeting!!!
It has been driving me bonkers! I thought at first it was the custom ROM I was using, so flashed back to stock, then I thought it was faulty.
Eventually I just went though all of the settings and turned everything off I could, an lo n behold, when I turned off the NFC, it stopped.
Again, I figured the phone may be faulty and as I never use the NFC just figured What the Hell, I dont care.
Anyway, I decided to flash back to a ROM and noticed that, when I have my phone out of the flip wallet case, the NFC does not mis-behave.
So I decided to see if there was something in the flip wallet causing the issue. And YES! There was.
My frikkin Bank (ATM) Card!! It has that "swipe" technology built in (allowing me to pay just by touching the card on the reader)
As soon as I take it out of the flip holder when the NFC is turned on, it stops vibr-eeting If i put the card near the back of the phone, it starts vibr-eeting again!
Well, I hope this helps someone out if you have this issue at all.
Toodles!

bluetooth range decreased

Quick question for anyone interested in speculating. I recently noticed my bluetooth galaxy smartwatch was disconnecting at unusually close range. I do not and have not ever used wifi on the watch itself.
I noticed while driving the bluetooth will disconnect and reconnect if the phone is in the seat but when I put it in the tray under the radio it works fine. Sometime it will work laying on the seat for some time and then disconnect. Overall it's intermittent.
I have also noticed, trouble pairing with headphones and speakers and disconnects even at less than 3ft. I had a disconnect with the phone in my pocket and watch on my wrist. The only constant with any device is the extremely limited range. I'd say 15ft max consistently. I can leave it on my desk and it will disconnect at the exact same distance when I walk away every time.
I connected the smart watch to another phone and had no range issues. I have reset bluetooth, network, wiped bluetooth app cache, went nuclear and factory reset in twrp. Tested again and problem is exactly the same.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem software related to me. If anyone can recommend something I can try that I may be missing I'd appreciate it. I rely on bluetooth so I had to replace the device already but I'd like to save the phone if possible. I haven't had it very long.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion.
My theory is bluetooth antenna disconnected.
I watched the JRE video (so I'm an expert now) and in it you can see two antenna wires, one black and one white. Both located under the camera flash board. This is exactly where I have to hold the right ear cup of my headphones if I want them to connect at all.
Anyway, I reached out to a local repair shop and the guy I spoke too was unaware asus made phones. I described my situation and he also suggested that the antenna may be disconnected or damaged. He said he would do the job if he can find all the parts. He told me he went to a site called rounded and they had the parts. I checked also and they have both antenna and the back cover. He said he wouldn't want to do the job unless he had the back glass in case it breaks.
Unfortunately, he told me he would call me back but I haven't heard anything. I'll keep trying until I find someone willing to do the work.
My favorite quote from the guy I spoke to:
" Wow, there is a lot to this phone, I'll have to call you back."

Rog 3 Strange wifi problem?!

So I am facing strange wifi problem let me explain
Wifi works fine for some time then it goes to limited connection after that it goes off I need to restart the device many many times to make it work again and when I get the bug I see some strange logcat attached below anyone can understand what's wrong and where is the driver path because sometimes everything works fine and sometimes it's not
Update: it was hardware issue and probably not gonna be easy to believe what was causing this: I got this phone second handed so I thought I should check the motherboard removed back cover and opened screws and checked phones wifi worked like a charm! I was confused then I made everything back as before and problem came up again!! I was so confused now after a day of thinking I thought it was about the screws on the motherboard cover so I opened them little bit and checked again wifi works pretty fine now so if I tightened the screws like factory it made the wifi screw up but opening the screw in medium level wifi went good 4 hours now and Everything works fine I will update after few days again
