[Q] change top another region - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Sorry for the stupid question but I never did it before-
1. I'm from Israel.. If I flash through Odin the new FW from Argentina, there will be still option for Hebrew in it?
2. If I'm already on xxlqe, after flashing do I need to wipe everything or I can stay with my apps and settings?

1.
I am on CM 11 by TC now and I do not know if CM adds languages ir is it only baseband related.
It was LQE (Poland) based flash.
I got hebrew language.
2.
If you are changing stock JB -> another stock JB it might be enough to wipe cache / dalvik (no need factory reset).
Worst case scenario - you will do factory reset after flashing new version, when discovered some errors in usage
As usual: before changing ROMs - do nandroid backup

Thanks for the reply!
Another question- is there big difference between the FWs?

Please help a Samsung newby!

I have just aquired an sgs i9000 (£259.95 from uk carephone warehouse) and am finding things a little different after using an htc desire for the last year.
After poking around the forum, i have managed to install I9000XXJVP 2.3.4 gingerbread using odin.
My question is, is it possible for me to now install speedmod-kernel-k15h-t12-300hz using odin to gain root access or have i misread the situation?
Sorry if this sounds a bit noobish but, if the above is correct, will i lose all of my apps and settings if doing so?
Advice would be much appreciated.
If you flash a kernel you won't loose any data.

Thanks for your reply.
So can i simply flash the kernel that i mentioned on my stock 2.3.4 or is there something else to do first and if yes, does this automatically give me root?
Sorry to be a noob, but i am new to these procedures and it all seems too simple to me!
It will give you root, yes.
But I'm not quite sure if this kernel fits for JVP...
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
speedmod's kernel won't automatically root your phone but you can root it once you've flashed it via the option in recovery mode.
but i agree you should check that it is compatible with JVH; i'm on KC1 so not too sure.
i mean JVP!
There should be a CF-Root version for JVP too, thod kernel is as stock as possible but gives you root.

[Q] Help me I rooted/unrooted and no 4g!

I rooted my phone using a method from rootgalaxynote with odin and I flashed on TMT 4 jellybean and I became unstable after a few days and started bootlooping and vibrating with black screen so i tried to unroot andnnow i believe its stable i flashed the latest stock rom and then updated to ICS 4.0.4 but now there's no mobile network access. I checked with at&t no fix on their end. my kernel says [email protected] - 64 #3 SMP PREEMPT Mon Jul 16 20:50:37 KST 2012 Please save me! I really want to root and flash some good jellybean multiwindow action but what i REALLY REALLY NEED is for my phone to give me 4g. Honorable xda please help.
Please help me I'm no fool I just need my mobile internet!

Firstly, the note doesn't support 4g,so you'll never be able to get it. Do you mean 3g? Secondly check the apn settings in network and post screen shots.

Okay yeah sorry about the dupe, spacing out. There is nothing there. just black screen (with menu options available). I guess that means i need to put one in right?

If you are interested in samsung jb leaks, there is no need to root. Download it from samfirmware.com and flash it using odin. Later if you want to root, use philz kernel for xxlsa to auto root.

and if i dont want to update the gapps the old ones will stay right?
and my installed apps will stay ? or do i need TB?
Everything should be OK if you are upgrading this same ROM and not upgrading to other Rom eg CM10 - > CM10.1 or something else.
Make a backup from the recovery before flashing.
Sorry for my bad English.

[Q] What Custom ROM choose ?

Hello guys !
A few days ago I install a JellyBean ROM for my country through Odin. And now I want to get new Custom ROM. I found Chucky-bean master rom and it's nice. Maybe you can recommend some nice ROMs ? I want this ROM be fast and have low battery consumption.
Read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2222016
Hope this helps.
Yeah, thanks for link but I want to get your own opinion about some ROMs.

You can see my signature for that. This is the best setup for currently. But it depends on you. You have to try then you'll know.
Hope this helps.
Hmm... I've just install JellyMod 4.0 and it's really nice But I have CoCore E-6.2 and you have 5.6.2. Do I need to change ? And can you explain me what is CRT ?
Sorry for me bad english :/

CRT.
You don't have to. Many people said v6.2 is the best now. I'm just too lazy to flash Crt off is the animation when you turn your screen off.
Ok, so now I have good setup for my ROM But I found nice rom too. It's PureVanilla what do you think about it ? I can test it.

Waiting on a good ROM for the "P" that has NFC capability.
some earlier versions of it are i9070-p capable, i cannot be sure about their quality since i tried the last one only, but you could try. i believe the developer has both phones.

[Q] Help a newbie out

Evenin' xda!
I'm the proud owner of a non-rooted SGSA and I am having a couple issues I couldn't get my head around so I was hoping that you guys could give me a hand.
My phone's csc was MTL (not my country's csc) and since I couldn't find any JB version made especially for this csc I flashed one released for my country (COA). It ran really smooth for a couple of weeks but every once in a while my systemUI keeps freezing ,or I get some really annoying lag spikes while performing easy tasks like messaging through the stock app or browsing my contact list.
Now, should I flash some other version of JB , a more stable one, if there is such thing, or should I go ahead and root my device?
Would rooting help me out, and by that I'm asking you to tell me whether there are any stable custom ROMs and/or kernels that I could use? (this is where my inner noob kicks in, I'm pretty helpless )
Thanks a bunch !
P.S. I did try to search for answers but I couldn't find anything useful.
Root I would say is a much better answer to your problem.
Root your phone, flash cocore kernel and debloat your system ie remove unwanted files. This will definetely boost up your phones speed and your phone won't freeze.
If you want to.. you can also try CynogenMod 10.1

I tried this combination a few days ago and, lags was like hell!!
mannulko, I recommend cm10.1, cause aside from some annoying things such as low volume in call, it's very stable, but you could try some custom roms out there, you could try first version of harsh jelly with any of the cocore kernel, just try different versions and see which one suits you!!!
