Sometimes chargers have too high or too low current? Try a multitude of chargers, look for 1amp. I've had high current chargers heat my phone up and freeze the os and low-current chargers make my screen flicker and not turn on. Sounds like to me you have a low-amp charger issue, but who knows.
Give it a try, hopefully it helps.

I recently discovered the lower portion of my touchscreen isn't as sensitive whenever I am charging the phone with the original charger and cable.
It is so bad that I am unable to complete the sliding motion to unlock my phone since I am using the white bar for widgetlocker.
Just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences and should I be worried?
Thanks!
According to the quick start guide, (yep that small paper nobody reads) that could be caused by unstable current when you are charging. But i am not really sure since i don't have that problem..

I know this may sound weird, but I have heard that some have found using another charger helped similar issues. Maybe try another charger and see if that alleviates the issue.
I can confirm that it's due to the charger or the wall outlet. I have my SGS2, and I've experienced this multiple times. On my iPhone 4 I also had this issue all the time (I think a lot of people complained about the screen sensitivity while charging), and Apples stance was "change outlets" and that fixed my issues, my friend's issue, and my roommates issue on our iPhones back when. Make sure you're using the correct charger as well, with correct voltages.

thanks for all the replies. i've now tried using the various powerpoint outlets in my house and as well as a few iphone plugs but all of it yield the same result, my screen still remains the same.
in fact, this issue seems to have gotten worse after sending the phone in for servicing 2 days ago and samsung service centre claimed they changed the lcd screen and the motherboard.

Have you considered it could be the cable? Have you tried another cable?

I had this problem once on another device. I think it was due to a static buildup. I can't remember how you fix it but hope this helps for info.

Hey man, Did you got the issue ? I would suggest, if your phone is rooted, you must be knowing how to change kernels. Do that. It should definitely solve the issue. This thing is called, deep sleep or ghost touch.
I noticed when i put to charge my RAZR I with its AC power supply, there is a strange effect on the touch screen. My phone dont responds well, the problem in touchscreen when i roll up the menus, the programs nd browser is ok but the menus dont work fluid. The problem only happens when i charge in AC. In Usb(PC) doesnt have problem.
Is it normal? am i having a problem?
Thx

anybody?
yes, I also noticed that. But its not always. This may be caused by the cahrger or the socket itself, if there are other devices plugged in as well. Touchscreens do react very fast on any kind of unnormal powersupply. I have 3 of those original Motorola wall chargers. but i noticed that only on one of those. maybe its the socket where it is plugged in or the charger itself. i will test is later while recharging my phone.
I noticed this for the first time today. Very strange. And annoying.

What firmware version have you ?
I upgraded mine with latest EU firmware here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1936512
My Razr was not up to date.
Not a big update but I noticed some improvement: No more lag when zooming out/in the home page, NFC notification get an icon near the clock, before it was a " standard app notification".
I never notice the sluggish touchscreen, maybe this issue is solved on this firmware.

The last version. I update in the last week. FW: Brazilian version 87111012012.XT890
I've had this problem on a number of Motorola phones (and others) and believe it's something to do with earthing/grounding. That could be why it varies from one charger to another, or even perhaps how much current is flowing through the charger.
I'm not an electrical expert, so I might be talking nonsense - but I don't think it will be firmware related.

there are problem with charger or is my house? Here is 220 volts.
So finally i got my battery empty after 2,5 Days
Just tested it with my old charger from a Mielstone 2 and the new one.
There is no lag or slowdown with the new one, but with my old charger the phone reacts very bad especially to light touch gestures. So i guess its a problem with the AC charger. I have 230V here in Germany. Or the Touchscreen (digitizer) is just too cheap and can't handle a non perfect Current/Voltage.
I tested with diferent charger and same problem. I pick up a Samsung SII and some problem with my chargr and I use anothers charge with Samsung II same problem too. I have a LG P500 and dont have problem. Whats happens? Samsung SII and Razr I there are delay in touch but LG P500 I dont have this problem USB never problem.
I'm having the mentioned problem since yesterday..the phone is plugged in to the stock wall charger and during usage, battery is dropping. I noticed that if I bend the microusb connector up a bit, it stops charging..
Any ideas on what's wrong? I'm using a stock XXLSC deodexed rom which I got from the N7000 General forum, no apps installed except Facebook, Skype and xda app.

Edit edit: actually, it drains both on max and min brightness. Tried different chargers
When it's connected to wall charger, does it say charging or not? Clean the usb port a little bit and try again. If not that, also try an alternative battery

I blowed out any possible dust in it now, it seems to be charging normally now..my main concern is that slight moving of the cable up and down causes it to loose contact, as if the pins on the motherboard are broken insidethe phone, or similar.

recently updated kernel? Had on some kernels.
Your charging cable is it original? Is it damaged? You can always check if usb port charges it better to eliminate charger itself. Note usb charges slower.

Check your warrantee, if your running 100% stock. If its your usb charging module you might need it replaced.
I replaced mine with parts from parts4repair.com, cause I messed to much eith phone to claim warrantee. Lots of how tos on youtube. You dont need to remove motherboard for replacing it. If you think its broken, I can give more advice, at own risk ofcourse.

Yeah, by now I'm quite sure that the usb port is broken or damaged, or similar. After playing around with it for a while, I found out it does charge in certain positions, so I guess something broke off or is loosing contact.
It is under warranty, but I bought the phone under contract, and the phone carrier I got it from is notorious for holding onto the phone FOREVER during "repairs". Friend had to wait 45 days to get his back. So I'm just thinking about giving it to the local repair shop, those guys do a good job.
So far I tried different cables, and a different charger, did not try switching batteries since I can't get a hold of one anytime soon.
doing it yourself has a risk, and if those are good, fair in price, and have the right parts, then why not lol.
Be sure to check speaker, reception and wifi after, those are basically things that can go wrong with replacing this unit
btw, to excersize warrantee you can go to a authorized samsung dealer/service centre. Your not obligated to go throught your provider for warrantee. Its Samsung warrantee your calling upon, not your providers in this case I think.
I got my phone to a repair shop and they managed to fix up my phone, it charges normally now and the problem was in the connector, it got broken somehow.
Right now I'm getting extremely annoyed with constant network signal drops which happen on random..no idea why that is happening.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Hmmmm great for getting it fixed. Not sure if there is an antenna connector on the usb module which might not have been fixed properly. If this is happening since the repair, need to check again.
One day I was away from home and my battery was low. So I had to use a Sony Xperia charger. But now my phone has problems charge.
problems such as:
-it won't charge
-it only charges to 50%
-the charge cuts in and out
-I have to leave it still or it won't charge.
Has anyone had these problems occur. This is really annoying and I would like to find a solution ASAP
*and the only charger that doesn't cause this problem is ny nexus 7 charger. But I don't want to use it. Because when I tried it, it said it's not compatible and will damage my device.

If your phone is charging half way through then It should not be the connector. Try charging through the use if laptop. Try clearing the battery stats if rooted else back up your phone and try restoring it to factory settings.

My problem with my phone started after I bought a cheap car charger. I must have ruined the mini usb port. Now when I unplug my phone from the charger it keeps showing that it is charging and will not stop till I remove the battery and put it back in. Also if I had just kept it without removing the battery and wanted to recharge it plugging it to the charger will not do anything. Removing the battery and put it back will allow it to charge. I just hope the cover will not disintegrate with all the opening and closing. Before this phone I had the Nokia N97 and in the middle of a long distance call the battery died. I stopped at the first cell shop and bought a car charger that ruined that phone too. I should have learned no to use hardware that is not original even if the guy said it is good.
