Is there anyway I can change the setting to enable/disable Touchless Controls with Tasker? It would be useful to turn off Touchless Controls at bedtime or when I know I wouldn't be using them to begin with. No clue how to approach this.
but friend, is not necessary! and I couldn't find a way to do this. who will say ok google now during the night?

What.....
I said I want to disable Touchless Controls at night. I'm not using it at night. I'm asleep. No sense in having it on and running if I'm not using it.

i understood, the only way is going to the settings it, and disable the first option
You can do this with Secure Settings.
I forget what the action is called within Secure Settings, but it just does the Android 'disable' for you
Titanium backup can give you a widget to freeze it with a click.
But yeah....4 clicks can toggle it off in settings.

I know that, lol. But Tasker is obviously a smarter choice.

But when you disable it, won't you have to re-enable it manually?

That takes care of disabling it... however, when you re-enable it, you still have to go to Settings to "Enable" it again. :|

Secure settings -> root actions -> package state. When you use "disable" do NOT use "user disable."
As long as touchless controls was on before you use secure settings to disable it, it will be on still when you use secure settings to re-enable it

You've gotten that to work? I tried it with both and neither one worked
Has anyone got any other ideas? It's been a while, maybe there is something newer?

Why would you disable it while you sleep? It hardly drains the battery as is. Are you saying OK Google Now in your sleep?

I want to disable auto-rotate.
Where can I find it? From what I've read until now it looks like impossible.
But that can't be true! There should be a option to disable the accelerometer!
Any input is welcome.

At the moment there is no option for disabling auto-rotate. It is completely App/Developer dependent, and there is not option in the OS itself. I can't remember where the thread is but there's a GIANT suggestion thread on Microsoft's Support website, as people who use the phone lying down or on the couch will find the evils of Gravity annoying.

Some custom ROMs let you turn the sensor off from the settings page. If you're on a first gen or HTC WP7 then this is likely to be an option.
Guys,
How can I use this feature to toggle on/off my bluetooth, NFC, Cellular Data, Wifi, etc?
How can I ask it to read out unread texts or the last text I got?

To read text just say "hey google now, what's up" and it will read your notifications and maybe your text.
and you cannot toggle features on and off unfortunately, that would be cool though but then other people could sabotage your phone... NOT COOL!
Hope that helps.
Thanks I'll give that What's Up thing a try later today.
It didn't work. Just does a Google search for What's up.
Any other suggestions?
Are you sure you've updated the Touchless Control app? It should work even when you don't have any pending messages. If you are certainly up to date, just try again.

Try what's new or read notifications. I think what's up works for U.S users only.
Yes for UK users, the command is What's New. Works perfectly and very handy!
Absolutely loving this phone for it's features and sleek looks!
What I have done in the past is to use Tasker app factory to create small apps to do the toggles you want, and then tell touchless control to launch the app.

That's not true if you have root. There is an xposed module that allows Google now to turn on/off bluetooth/wifi/mobile data. It works with Touchless controls.

Works fine here; "launch driving mode". "Driving Mode" being an app I created for setting BT on, WiFi off, screen timeout to 5 minutes, and sending a play intent to Pocketcasts.

The module is Google Search API. http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/xposed-modules/mod-google-search-api-t2554173
The plugin, voice toggles, allows you to turn on/off wifi/bluetooth/mobile data. I also use the autovoice plugin to allow me to use my tasker/autovoice stuff from google now, and by extension touchless controls.
The ability to turn on/off bluetooth/wifi/mobile data is already built into google now, but it's disabled and/or incomplete. I'm remembering that, so it might not be 100% correct.

At first try to add these apps to all possible whitelists of Huawei power management apps. It should not be cleaned by RAM manager and should be left not closed when screen is off. It helped here.

I put greenify in protected app and for now is ON in accessibility. Last 2 day working ok.

Thanks but in protected app I don't have the apk, only a list of installed applications
Yet another EMUI "feature". Hating when it happens to me as well, though I do have mixed luck with whitelisting the apk in question (where ever you can - why the hell do we have both the battery keep-running-with-screen-off feature, and the "ignore optimizations" crap? And what does this even do?).

Same here with Roboform password manager on Mate 9 with EMUI 5.0 . All system settings give it permission and exemption from optimization. But accessibility is turned off after a very short time of the phone screen being off. There has to be something strange going on.

Strange this has not been fixed.
IMHO Huawei or EMUI should let us manage the system whitelisted apps..
It is obvious that the phone administrator is not enough to ensure we can leave opened on background 100% sure some apps... My telegram app from time to time also appears stopped.. Mmmm "strange" but easy to solve for huawei's developers if they were interested in
So strange^2

Actually I have found that it is a feature not a fault. I rang up Huawei to ask for help.
What you need to do is go into Settings (swipe down from top, then cog wheel) > Battery > Close apps after screen lock
Then scroll down to your 'problem' app, and switch to off.
You might be surprised at the apps that have managed to get themselves set to off. I certainly was.

Even having setup properly battery optimisation to be ommited, keep open when close and whitelist on clean up sometimes telegram gets close... We all (or most of us) know.about that options to be setup but Huawei maintains a "hidden" apps whitelist like Google apps that are permitted to be run on background ... We know is not a big and we want to have full control of which apps.to permit 100% of time not decided by Emui. That's the point.

I have this problem that when I want to activate an accessibility service, I get a pop up message that says if there is an overlapping app blocking the options I should drag it away or close the app, as in the screenshot attached. I have no idea what is causing this but I have not been able to activate any accessibility services since upgrading to MIUI version 10.2. The device is rooted with magisk. Any help will be appreciated to get this sorted out. I get the Pop-Up each time I tap ok.

Turn off full screen gestures, this is blocking the Accessibility settings.
After you have enabled the Accessibility stuff, I believe you can turn on full screen gestures again.

Actually I had the same problem in Februari on my Mi Note 2 (I have a Mix1 also, they are very closely related as to firmware).
After trying everything I could think of, and nothing helped, I sat back and thought "what else draws over other apps"?
Bingo! Gestures.
And it worked.
Is it possible to use tasker to switch on lastpass accessibility toggle? My OnePlus 3t (not rooted, OOS 9.0.4) deactivates it almost on a daily basis. I have switched off battery optimisation for lastpass but the phone turns the toggle off.

Ta. I'll check that out
Hi there. Maybe you can try using the "Custom Setting" action for that. Try using the Magnifying glass in the action with the option to automatically find the setting and see if Tasker can find it. Hope this helps!

The easy way is to use the Secure Settings action in AutoTools. That has a direct option for accessibility services. I plan on adding that option to Tasker directly at a later date.
With the Custom Setting action what you should do is read the value, remove or add the needed service from the list, the write the setting.
Ta I'll test that

That means that Tasker doesn't seem to be able to communicate with AutoTools. Do other AutoTools actions work?
