To be sure of what i'm doing this time i want to be sure that i'm doing the right things with the right tools.
To explore my files I use the CM 11 file explorer. In general setting, i set the acces mode to ROOT. Then, I click on the bottom right, proprties, permissions and then i have three lines owner, group, others ( translation from french to english) and 4 columns S, R, W, X
The first lin "owner" is set to R, W, X,
The second one "groups" to R, X.
The third "others" to R, X.
When I tryed to unchek the X, trebuchet crashed and bootloop...
When I past the home z2 nothing appears after reboot...
Any help to set right permissions please...

Hi, tryed to set permission to Rw R R and trebuchet crashs agin and boot loop again. maybe I missed a step...

You need to fix permissions.
Connect phone to pc and use adb.
./abd shell chmod -R 777 system/media
Or use your terminal emulator :
chmod -R 777 /system/media
After reboot your phone and will work again.
Don't forget boot animation must be in .zip format something as "bootanimation.zip" in /system/media.
Also your device need to be rooted.
Still not working.

Didnt you make a nandroid? Like you should before every operation?
Ok, here is what you can try:
Fix Permissions from CWM doesnt work, AFAIK.
But if it messed anything in your case, download ROM Manager and search for fix permission inside the app. Do a fix permission and restart. Fixed? Cool, if not, how about changing the font under settings--> display --> display font? Try droidsan, since it is default I guess, or change to any other, if it is selected already.
Then reboot, see if it works, if it still doesnt work, try another FixPerm and reboot again. Still doesnt work? Then anyone else has to have a solution

Ultra Brightness In JellyBlur 6.0.1 WORKS!!

That's real work mode you only need JellyBlur 4.5 and 6.0.1. First You must open update-JellyBlur-V4.5-Team-Blur.zip , next go into system/app and select Settings and SettingsProvider apk , copy that and paste into update-JellyBlur-V6.0.1-Team-Blur.zip system/app. That's all , next install 6.0.1 like normal zip in CWM.
Sorry for my bad english.
Or he can use apk from MINI CM10
ok open rom like wir rar program and go to APP> and search setting/s.apk and copy to rom jelly blur whatever version in you copy , then instal again rom withbout factory reset etc. and ready , ultra brightness should be work fine ,
But how to move app on SD ? Always reboot phone:silly:

ok, if not you can also temporarily use another launcher you'll get in the play store. Just to have any launcher. if you can't get into play store try it with your computer?! or try to repair with sus if that goes right
try to make an rom/zip of the apk to flash to the system via cwm (i'm not fimiliar with making those files, but there must be an description)
To get the zip connect the phone to your pc and move it to your internal storage or sd card and get into recovery

Not quiet sure about using CWM, all i know is how to flash, haahha
Well thanks for your effort, but i think i will be using the SUS recover method.
Download the deodex ROM from alinov (not sure how to type the name :silly: )
Take from /system/app the HOME.APK
Put the Xperia Home app in the adb folder and type:
Adb shell
Su (root it needed here)
push home.apk /system/app
shell chmod 644 /system/app/home.apk
reboot
did it function?

It seems to me that you have problem either of your root or correct permission of bootanimation you try to install. What happened when you try to install it?

You used file explorer to check out your /system/media folder right? which one? But if you delete something there it not supposed to be there if you have correct rw permission there. I first think that it could be problem with bootanimation you try to install but if you can't delete something there for good I guess first look at your permission to write that folder.

I tried many and different bootanimations not just one and with different ways. I'm rooted and I use the root browser and the permissions are right. But the when I delete the original bootanimation or overwrite it after entering the media file it is there. (when I tried with recovery I got an error)

Basically no and yes. I moved the audio folder it moved successful but when I got back it was both at the moved and original location.
It's like the system generates the missing files by it self

I was suggesting factory reset.. Anyway have you tried another root file manager? (i use root explorer and everything works here, but you should try several apps)

Root again. Use "Easy Root Tool". If it stuck cleaning part just run it again and you should be good.
I was trying to change Xperia S bootanimation last year. Ending up to find that problem is much deeper then basic root and root explorer.
Didn't find the way how to apply custom one.
As I remember is somehow connected with bootloader or kernel

Don't know about Xperia S but with Z1 I can change bootanimation. I use X-plore by Lonely Cat Games with r/w rights and have zero problems.
I would suggest you do not have root.
Check if you have killed the ric.
Goto sys/kernel/security/Sony_ric and see if the file called enable says 0 or 1. Also check it just after a reboot.
If it's a 1 you will lose write permissions to the system partition after a reboot, which explains the symptoms you are talking about.
Changing the boot animation had nothing to do with kernel or bootloader, you just have to change the bootamimation.zip in system /media
