G Flex vs G2 - LG G Flex

I'm coming from an older HTC One X, and I've vowed to get a phone with better battery life.
I've narrowed things down to either the LG G Flex, or the G2.
I'd no doubt go for the Flex, but I use my phone as my main shooter, and the lack of IPS is kind of blah.
Anyone here owned both phones?
How does the stock battery life compare on the two for you? Is the Flex head and shoulders above it?
Do you notice lack of IPS on the flex vs your G2 shots?

i own 2 LG G2 phones and i just got me the G-Flex today.
g flex in my opinion is way smoother so far than the g2. about a month or 2 after i had my g2 i was over it. the screen just seems to shrink on you. i need bigger screens for my big fingers. doing a test of battery at 80% screen brightness right now right out of the box. will run at 80% also after the first charge. i will take screenshots after the first charge and post here.
the g2 on 60% sb i got around 4-4.50 hours. not too bad with 41hrs uptime.
gflex is supposed to be near the 6-8hr mark at full brightness but we'll see about that.
if you go for one of the 2 and dont care of screen size get the flex.

I have owned both, I had the G2 for a few months then switched to the G Flex, I can say that the battery life is a lot better on the G Flex, but for some reason surfing the web kills the batter way quicker than anything else. But I did just get the new kit kat update for it today so I'll have to see if that changed, they did say there was a battery boost as well as a performance boost, so that will have to be checked out.
Honestly I like the full RGB screen on the G Flex, the colors just pop, and pictures are a bit warmer because of the full size red sub-pixel but I like that, makes things more vibrant.
And because the screen is so large I tend to hold it a little further from my face, with the G2 I held it about 6-7 inches from my face, and the G Flex I hold it about a foot or more just because of the screen size, so things blend more.
Also the G Flex seems a bit snappier than the G2, probably because of the screen resolution, you need less processing power to run a lower resolution screen so it really does help.
But in the end they are 2 really great phones and I don't think you will be unhappy with either of them, so happy hunting!

in the end I just wanted the bigger screen of the flex
not regretting it so far thanks for the help guys

Wife and one stepdaughter have the G2's and are great phones, good battery life, awesome screen and the perfect size for a phone.
I went with the Flex due to the size as I am a media Monger and loved the curved aspect. Also wasn't that put off by the 720 screen, which can help attest for the stellar battery life in the Flex. It Truely is amazing!
I will say after a couple months, the size is getting to me. It's barely pocketable as I have a case on all my phones. Also the curve wore off real quick, hardly notice it anymore.
Going to seriously check out the G3 as I really like LG'S software. I am sure it will get good enough battery life and should be much more pocket friendly.
Don't get me wrong, I really like the Flex, just wish it was a little smaller. I say this coming from a N2 as well and makes that phone feel small, lol!
If battery is your main reason and can deal with the size and lower resolution screen, the Flex is for you.

I have never put phones in my pocket if it doesnt have an otterbox or ballistic holster case i usually wont purchase it. I love the g flex way more than my g2. Battery life screen size snappiness, curve, everything about this phone is awesome. If you are selling for te g3 please pm me i am interested

Well, not everyone rocks a belt holster from the 90's
Not selling it, I am on the jump program and would have to sell the phone at basically wholesale, so not worth it for you I am sure. Only had the phone a couple months, heck haven't even made a jump payment on it yet, haha!

Thats true....
Holster clips, even though from my nokia 3390 days, are still more convenient for me than in my pocket. Especially with this phones size.
All i gotta say about this phone is that its friggin awesome. The 720p res. DOes not bother me at all.
A guy was gonna buy my g2 today but flaked out. Its a shame cause its only 4 months old.

My experience with both Optimus G and Nexus 4

Hey guys I just want to let you guys know my experience with the Optimus G and the Nexus 4. My situation was a bit funny as I didn't get both phones at the same time so my usage for each phone was very exclusive. I spent a week with the Optimus G (2 Optimus Gs in one week LOL) and afterwards a few days with the Nexus 4.
Optimus G Experience
I first got the Optimus G because the Nexus 4 wasn't available and I really liked the look of the phone, it was sleek and the buttons were really great to press. LG put some effort into their UI and it had some pretty great features like the multi-window and the quickmemo note taker.
I would've kept it but there were some funky problems/bugs with touchscreen responsiveness. I don't think it was an issue with sensitivity but I think it was the way some of the UI elements were designed. Typing was fine but when navigating and swiping, you weirdly lose a swipe or two. Enough to be annoying. There was one point where the touchscreen stopped responding completely to my touch. That was weird. I don't know if it was a static charge thing cause I was wiping the phone down quite a bit and plastic was all over it, or a defective touch screen but after doing a recovery using the KDZ LG update thing, it fixed itself. Needless to say that freaked me out so I went and returned the device and got an exchange. The second device never had that issue but it still had the issue with missing a swipe here and there. The great thing though was the performance in games. It gave me a consistent experience through NFS: Most Wanted and other intensive games. The screen was also damn great.
The visual design of the Optimus G is awesome. It looks awesome and premium. Doesn't feel too awesome though, it actually sorta feels gross. Everything about the phone was glossy, therefore oils would totally cling to it and cause a really slippery, gross feeling phone unless you wiped it down every hour or so. The buttons were pretty darn good to press and felt solid. The phone was thin but that caused me to feel the back a bit too much and usually the back was really warm. So the whole holding experience of the phone is warm, oily, and smudgy. My hand is usually dry but the phone still oiled up like a sumo wrestler. Sounds great doesn't it?
In conclusion with the Optimus G, looked good, performed great, but its UI hampered the usage, the lack of users prevented a large following thus reducing development, and the holding experience of the phone was really bad. In the end, I did return the Optimus G.
Nexus 4 Experience
I managed to get my hands on a Nexus 4 a couple days after returning the Optimus G. Was extermely excited to use it. The one I got was defect free it seems with no yellow tint. After the Optimus G however, the design of it was a bit weird with the curved glass and it was definitely bulkier than the OG. Using it for a couple days here's what I noticed:
Man that stock android experience is just too smooth and there is really nothing that can compare to untouched Jellybean. It was just really responsive when tapping and swiping. So I couldn't fault the OS here, despite the lack of built in features such as multi-window (Q-slide in Optimus G) but there's probably an app for that. 4.2 does have its share of bugs though but nothing too crazy.
Visually the phone looks good but again, I did not like the curved glass that much as it sorta promotes scratching on the edges as screen protectors usually can't cover it properly. At first I didn't like the wider and a bit bulkier Nexus 4 compared to the Optimus G but after using it, the phone feels REALLY good holding it. The soft touch plastic was thick enough and curved in a way that the hand was not always on the back of the glass and allowed the hand a bit of breathing room so that it wouldn't get too warm. The soft touch plastic is not oil prone so you don't feel as icky. So the holding experience was great. The buttons on the other hand is a different story and I wish it had the same clicky feeling of the Optimus G but I don't think it's that big of a deal.
The performance of the phone was good but not quite as good as the Optimus G due to, yes, throttling. Although I like to have my phone as stock as possible and performing properly out of the box, I know the community for the phone will help it in the long run as it is a Nexus device and work out some of the issues.
In conclusion, the Nexus 4 has great software, great community, and feels great in the hand. The things I wish it did better are: buttons, some performance issues, and hopefully the edges of the screen won't scratch in the future. Otherwise it's a great phone that I think I'll be keeping.
That's a nice write up, thanks for sharing.
Rik.

Yeah my bad. That's exactly what I mean. Changed it.
Hm...do you mean the Optimus G has slippery body frame, too? Different from the rubbery body frame of Nexus 4?
That's a shame really.

Thinking of buying G Flex - Need some opinions

Hi guys I'm thinking of buying LG G flex and looking for some opinions. Im an Xperia Z user and a very satisfied user. I didnt even think of changing my phone and its been with me for a year but the G flex caught my eyes and the main reason why i wanna buy it is because its different and curved. Here are some things that Im not so sure about so if you can help me with it using your experience then Id be grateful
1- Screen quality - now to be honest, im not a tech expert or someone that will look at the screen very closely to find pixels. Im a normal user, i like watching some videos and web browsing. the g flex has got a lot of criticism on the 720p display so what do you guys think in general? im coming from a 1080p display but i dont think ill have a lot of problems with the 720p display? some reviews i read were horendous that u cant even look at the screen its so bad. i know its not that bad. i just want to know if its a good screen that can show videos and pictures nicely. nothing extra extra sharp. also, im using hp envy x2 which is a tablet and laptop hybrid featuring a 720p display. i love it and dont have any problems against the screen. but i dont know whether 11 inch tablet screens are difff from phone screens and if tablet screens are even better at 720p?
2-screen ghosting. this is another thing ive heard a lot but havent heard anything about it from regular users. is screen ghosting a major issue and does it happen regularly? i plan on using it at 60% or + brightness because the battery is huge so will screen ghosting still be present? and is there a fix? is it a deal breaker?
3 Screen bumps- ive seen videos where users show bumps on their screens which lg admitted as well i think its because of flexing the screen. is bumps a regular issue for you guys? if i get a bump, it there a way to fix it or will it stay forever ?
4- Back- someone told me that the back of the device looks cheap and is uncomfortable?
5 Breaking - this might sound weird but did anyone break their device is the curved and flexible screen and design sensitive and will it break if it drops?
6 -Usable- i havent used a 6 inch phone before so this is a general question of whether the phone seems fine in usage? my xperia z is 5 inches but i dont consider it as big at all but do u guys feel that 6 inches is manageable? i had a blackberry playbook once and it was very big at 7 inches and NOT AT ALL something i couuld use as a phone. so how is the 6 inch phone? is it TOO big? or does it seem fine??
Thanks is advance
1. Screen is good but grainy, but for videos this is one of the best screens I have held, and the battery timings for watching videos is phenomenal. You can watch unto 20 hours of video on this phone not to mention overall battery timings as well.
2. Ghosting is definitely there and can be a problem at start but you get use to it slowly, I am use to it now though it was a bit annoying at start.
3. No bumps so far and I have flexed it quite often.
4. The back of this phone is the most premium thing about this phone, it's great to hold and though it looks slippery but it is quite wonderful to grip and doesn't slip.
5 No certain answer for breaking cus you can break anything you want but the construction of the phone is quite solid.
6. It's a big phone and can be a problem if you have small hands but as you have mentioned that 7 inches tablet is fine for you then this shouldn't be a problem at all.
Bottom line: the best phone if you are a phablet lover and you can't use anything else.

is ghosting there even at high brightness? i think thats pretty bad if ghosting is always there
I've had my flex about a month and I haven't seen any burn in or ghosting. Which from my reading should only happen during the first few weeks of device use if at all. I came from a galaxy s4 and I'll tell ya the screen looks as good as the s4 99% of the time I have noticed the grainy look but only on a few pics. Doesn't always look grainy. I think its just certain colors and maybe pic quality that's my opinion.
As far as breaking. I've dropped mine a couple times and its fine. No cracks the back doesn't feel cheap at all. There's a video of a guy hyper extending the phone probably 15° and it didn't break the screen. The LCD I believe is flexible its the rest of the phone is not. And I think you will only see the bumps in the screen if you try flattening it out or hyper extending it like the guy in the video. Which the bumps appeared from internal parts poking the back of the LCD when bent.
Coming from a very speedy Galaxy S4 to this ....
I'm very pleased. Its faster smoother less lag screen just as good to me but bigger which is a good thing.
I love it. I would recommend and buy another.

Yes but I hardly even notice the ghosting anymore. I did at first. Really only noticeable for me when using stock sms with dark background in sms and going from white to dark when opening messages.

Just like so many others, I have not been bothered in any way with ghosting, graininess, or any of the other non sense you have been reading on the internet; all that crap comes from Samsung fan bois, so ignore it..
sounds like you are a lot like me; you don't micro stare at every little aspect of your cell phone, so you will absolutely LOVE this phone; there is a slight blue hue/graininess at times, but moving the brightness up a bit gets rid of it, if it bothers you; it doesn't bother me one bit!
bumps? never heard of it from ANY of the users here. Obviously some idiot abused his phone somehow, and caused something unusual to happen.
how the hell does the back of a device "look cheap"? sounds like more fanbois stupidity..
I've dropped it a couple of times, with no issues to it, so its not like a fragile china vase..
And, if you are ok with your xperia at 5 inches, you won't have any issues with this one...
I'm happy with mine so far. I've always used high end Samsung service's. Best performance I've ever had on a phone. Imo there is only one phone in this category that is better and it's. The note 3. But I just wanted to give this a try cause... well I played with it in the store and I really liked it. If somebody talks badly about this they are just super particular.

This phone has a "cool factor" that no other phone out now can match....
Coming from a long line of Samsung devices that I've enjoyed very much I took a chance on the Flex about a month back because I like to watch a fair amount of video on my phone and thought it might prove superior for this purpose. A month on I'm not disappointed. I love the screen. I keep the brightness up and haven't been disappointed at all with the quality. I don't miss my Note 3's 1080P. I've had no issues with the phone from bending and such and enjoy the feel of the phone in the hand when texting and making calls. The Flex is very fast and the battery lasts forever. Honestly my only complaint and it is a minor one is that the rear of the phone picks up dust and lint easily, I assume due to the coating. This is not a big deal to me. Overall I would easily purchase this phone again.

Went from a Note 3 to the flex. Don't miss the Note at all. Really loving this phone, just wish development was more active, ..but after rooting and do a few things. I'm pretty happy with it as is. Great phone. Probably never go back to Samsung again. Their phones have gotten "common" and boring.

Why are you asking us lol? If it was ne i would be asking myself why would i want a phone larger then a 6inch which is the biggest i go s for me heck no i wouldn't trade my flex for no mega, that phone is just over doing it i'm sorry but i don't understand the why over due it as a 6 inch is just the perfect size now you have to ask yourself why do you want the mega not ask us because majority might and will say they wouldn't do it but you have to understand that's us at the end if the day our opinion shouldn't matter if you are interested in the mega so there for if you played with one then you should know what you want to do.

I owned the G Flex for a week before I traded it back in on a Note 3. There were just several things I didn't like about it (screen quality & ghosting issues being the driving factors) that caused me to return it. I do miss the Flex sometimes because I thought the curved screen was a great design, but I do not regret my decision to go with the Note 3 as it's easily the best device I've ever owned.
That said, if you can get past the graininess of the screen and the fact that it's not as sharp as the 1080p screens that are out now, it's a fantastic phone. The battery life is second to none (since the screen is only 720p, it drains the battery much slower than the higher res 1080p screen would), it's very smooth and the curved design fits well in your hand. It also has a huge 6" display. The hardware buttons on the back are also a nice touch. All in all, it was a great attempt by LG to try something a little different. Though I did come from a Note 2, I am by no means a Samsung fanboy. My favorite phone prior to this was my HTC Evo3D. I wanted really bad to love the Flex but in the end, I just didn't feel like the things I did like about it could make up for it's shortcomings and in such, I just couldn't commit to it as my daily driver for the next year.

Being the phone junkie I am one of the things I like most about buying new phones is something different and that's why I got the Flex.
Screen - I look at the 720p Flex screen as a pro because that's why the battery life is so great. It's really nice not having to worry about charging your phone for 24 hrs even with heavy use. I had a G2 before my Flex and I don't miss the 1080 screen. I never watch reviews because most of them the people don't even use the phone for that long plus I like to see for myself. The good thing is you get 14 days.
Screen ghosting - I'm not sure if this is that but when I play QuizUp I see the image for a second or two after it goes away sometimes. It doesn't bother me. That's even when the brightness is maxed. I only turn down the brightness when in bed and the Flex battery makes it around 24 hrs on one charge with heavy use.
Screen Bumps - I'm pretty sure this only happens when you Flex the Flex. Just don't do that any you should be fine. I think it's another thing the LG haters like to talk about.
Back of the phone looks cheap - Ummm nothing looks cheap with the Flex. It's a solid phone. The phone is thin and the back is slippery plus the phone tends to pick up lint more then others. I put on a Otter Box 360 skin to keep the phone thin. Phone isn't slippery and less lint/ fingerprints.
Breaking - Ummm just take care of the phone and you'll be fine.
Size - The Flex is so thin it fits fine in my front jeans pocket but I don't wear skinny jeans. lol The phone doesn't feel big. IMO That's another thing that is subjective.
Here's my 2 cents, this phone is great the screen is a bit grainy, but with brightness turned up you won't notice it. Ghosting does happen but only when switching between apps and only for like 2 seconds then it's fine. My only complaint about this phone is the camera, it takes amazing pictures when out in the sun or in a room with ample lighting, but I went to a concert the other night and took pictures and I had to really play with the settings to get the pictures to be decent. For me I'm disappointed at that and hope that this issue will be addressed with kit Kat update, but seeing as I go to only a few concerts a year it's by no means a deal breaker. Like someone said earlier, you have 14 days to play with it. If it doesn't fit with what you want in a phone then just take it back, but I have a feeling that you won't because this phone is a beast!

hmm i think i really like the g flex now. considering im not someone who will try to compare the phone with 1080p displays, i think it should be a good fit. I use my hp envy x2 tablet/laptop all the time and its also 720p so the sharpness doesn't bother me. For the grainy party, i think i can turn the brightness way up coz of the long battery life someone i know has Note 2 and ive had it in my hands a couple of times and i dont find it bulky or uncomfortable but the g flex is still at 6 inches. do u think if im comfortable with note 2, then g flex shouldn't also be a problem, in terms of handling it etc? as u guys mentioned, ghosting isnt a deal breaker for any of you and it happpens for 1 seconds only so i think i can live with it?
I have had mine for two weeks now.
1. Screen Quality - Its 720 display, if you are coming from an older phone, you won't notice a "lack" of 1080p. Further, the curved screen does work out better for viewing angles. The "grainyness" is not a problem. As noted in many reviews, if you hold the Note 3 and the Flex side by side, you will see a difference, but the quality is not necessarily better.
2. Ghosting not an issue for me. Is it there? Sometimes, is it a problem... no.
3. Screen bumps - As another poster stated, don't do bending tricks with your phone and you won't see these bumps. I haven't seen any yet.
4. Back - Really? Who with a 600 dollar phone doesn't put it immediately in a $50 dollar case? You can't even see the back. That being said, if you carry it bare, it really is very thin with a very well designed back material. It fits very well in your front pocket.
5. Breaking is only an issue if you have an issue breaking phones.
6. Usability is really dependent on the size of your hand. I have smaller hands, so I find myself using it two handed (I bought it for data rather than phone calls), and for phone calls I use bluetooth. The one time I held it to my head, it did feel odd, but not any more odd then a 4.7" phone. I really hate hot glass on my face. You really have to just try it out, I think people can get used to anything if they want to.
any more opinions? or experiences?

[Q] Ghostbusters!

I just got myself the G flex.
I know that many have the screen ghosting issue, as do I.
I can see ghosting even at 100% brightness.
What I wanted to know is, if I send the phone to a LG service shop will replacing the phone/screen really help?
I mean do they ALL have ghosting or just some? I really love the phone, I can put up with the 720P rez but I can't stand the ghosting.
So once again, are there any POLED screens without ghosting issues?
Not all Flex have the issue. Actually I put my Flex next to my Galaxy S4 and was pleasantly surprised with how good the Flex is compared to the S4.
The only thing I have noticed on Flex is black isn't a true solid black. Otherwise with them right next to one another there isn't much difference if any that the eye can see.
Sent from my LG-D959 using XDA Free mobile app
I don't notice it on KitKat. Really didn't notice it that much before. I have my Flex on vivid and since the battery life is great I keep my brightness maxed most of the time just not when I'm in bed.

G3 to Turbo

Thinking of edging my G3 to this....anyone have any opinions on if the screen really feels that much smaller? .3 inches seems almost negligable
sent from my LG G3 Rasputin, by far the BEST phone I've ever owned.

I have the G3 and the turbo. Its really not that much smaller. Turbo is a lot faster. G3 screen in the sun is better along with camera is faster. I'm giving the turbo a week of use before passing full judgment.
I'm coming from the G3.
The screen feels like the same size, mainly due to the on screen buttons on the G3 making the G3 feel like it has the same size screen in most applications. When comparing them side by side, the on screen buttons are taller than where the display starts on the Turbo.
The screen on the Turbo is more vibrant and looks more saturated (in a good way), however the display is warm compared to the G3. Whites are ever so slightly yellow when looking at them side by side, where the G3 is more cool and very slightly blue.
Performance is definitely better on the Turbo, everything launches very quickly. I have the nylon variant and it's very comfortable to hold just like the G3, it's not awkward for me putting my pinkie on the bottom to support the phone while using it one handed. Active display is also a great idea, the only thing I notice is that it turns on a lot showing me notifications, even if I'm not near my phone. From a few quick pictures, I'd say the rear camera on the G3 is definitely better, and OIS is missed on the Turbo, but the Turbo has a better and wider FOV FFC.
I haven't been able to compare battery life too well yet. I will say, that on the G3 it stays at 100% for a while, then once it hits 99% it falls pretty quickly when being used. The Turbo does not stay on 100% very long, but so far seems to be a more consistent drop. About an hour after being off the charger, the G3 was at 100% and the Turbo was at 97%, but after 2 hours off the charger, the G3 was at 91% and the Turbo was at 92%. I'll use them today, and will report back after trying to use them both equally to compare battery life.
Thank you. I really like the size of my g3, but it has its issues, and mainly I have a phone addiction

The thing about people posting their battery stats and SOT is that there are many variables that effect those figures, depending on how they use the device, the WiFi/cellular signal, etc. Today I tried using both my G3 and Turbo exactly the same throughout the day, and the results are pretty much neck and neck, I was hoping for a significant improvement with the Turbo since it has a 900mAh larger battery.

DROID Turbo:

Just "upgraded" to the LG V10 and here are my initial thoughts

I have been comparing both devices side to side pretty much all day and again I proved to my self that as of now there is not a phone worth replacing my beloved G Flex.. Unfortunately this little experiment will cost me $50 restocking fee but oh well.
Here is what I got so far:
Screen - Flex is a clear winner here not only by size but the V10 doesnt even come close to the how vibrant and beautiful the Flex screen is. I compared both phones running Leo's Fortune game and the furry ball was positioned on the exact same spot and also a good quality movie which I synced. The difference is just enormous with the Flex providing deeper crisp colors and true black while the V10 looks washed out and almost like some smoke filter was applied. I asked several people at work and they picked the Flex right away and were shocked thats an older phone. Also due to its size the Flex displays larger gaming image in the above game and some things arent even visable on the V10.
Performance - The V10 is snappy no doubt but so is the Flex not far behind. When playing the above game though the V10 is choppy while the Flex is smooth as butter. I prefer the Flex.
Phone size and weight - the V10 is literally as big as the Flex but with a smaller screen and it feels heavier. Of course its better looking than the Flex somewhat but thats not enough for me to keep it.
Second screen - cool concept and I can see it being useful but when you play a game or watch a movie you get an annoying gray stripe one the side of the screen and its not the same size so OCD guys like me will go crazy looking at that thing. I wish they made it turn off completely when in landscape but no it stays on and since the blacks are really gray its pretty visable.
Battery - I wont even bother lol
Some other things I dont like - No settings for Color temperature or Screen mode. That sucks because the colors are very cold.
I dont see LED notification and thats a huge letdown.
I also wish that second screen had some more functions when the main screen is off rather than just show me the time and four icons I cant change.
Also the screen reflects badly coming from the curved Flex with which reflections are reduced to minimum.
The V10 is hard to grab from the table and I can't put it on its face like im used to with the Flex.
What I like - Removable battery, SD Card, Looks and Camera
I know I should have known most of that but I thought I give it a try. So far its a no go.
I am keeping it for 14 days to get my $50 worth and I will be comparing both phones in different scenarios so I you want to know something in particular just let me know and I will compare side by side for you.
It looks like some of will be rocking the Flex longer than we thought.
Well, the 4.4.2 update for the Flex caused me to search for a new device. Like you I chose the V10, primarily because of the durability claims. I mountain bike and it will be nice if I don't always have to stress over my phone when I take a fall. Unlike you, I have found that the second screen acts as a notification area when I play games. I will get texts streaming across it, as well as email and other notifications. Having been using them both, I can't really argue most of what you stated.
However, On the plus side which you haven't mentioned;
Root took me all of about 15 minutes on the V10. Unlocking the bootloader is as easy as booting to bootloader and following the on screen instructions. It took me longer to install adb and fastboot on my laptop.
Once you spend the time to configure the second screen, it is quite useful. I have an assortment of information up there, main screen on or off.
You never mentioned the fingerprint scanner unlock, which I am now addicted to
Or wireless charging. Yeah, it may cost a little extra, but once you are used to it, you feel deprived without it. And considering the V10 can be had for considerably less than any other halo device, even with the extra cost, you are getting away cheaper than anything else.
I loved my 959 and am currently looking at ways to root it( very badly, since I am a bit out of touch here), but still trying.
I am also extremely happy with the V10, even if the whole package is not *better* than the Flex.
Well there is no doubt in my mind that even now G Flex is pretty tough to beat.. I have had the flex for 1 year now and have
100 apps installed and it is still smooth, no lag whatsoever..the camera is amazing, resolves a lot of detail and takes beautiful pictures.. There are many many things to like and the phone has an enduring appeal.
Like I said, I loved the 959. I was just getting sick of never having signal. The 4.4.2 update caused me all kinds of headaches that I am now looking into since bricking it won't leave me stick anymore. ?

I mountain bike too in fact I'm going right now with my Flex and my fat bike (dont judge lol).
I did not mention the fingerprint scanner as I had the phone for one day when I posted that. The thing is I dont see my self using it over the amazing knock to wake future we have. It means I have to pick up my phone and and unlock it every time so that future is useless to me.
The 32 bit DAC of the V10 is amazing I must admit but it does not work with any of my Bluetooth headphones or speakers and those are what I use now days unfortunately.
Also I noticed the second screen bleed last night... Not awful but still.
One of the weakest points of the Flex for me was the camera. I have seen people say here they really like it but I have not been able to see anything good about it. The V10 takes crazy good pictures tho.
Can you tell me how you customized the second screen and how you got the wireless charging? Any good ROM's yet?
Thanks!

Our phones must have different cameras not to mention the Flex is useless for taking pictures at night.

Haha
Well there are a couple of things here,
1) the screen Flex has is a bit underwhelming for viewing pictures. I have noticed the same pictures look much better when you transfer them to a PC or other higher resolution screen,
2) for night images, I have used the HDR mode of the stock camera and it has not let me down most of the times. If I compare pictures to say an iPhone 5s (brother has it) , they hold out pretty well and in fact are better most times
Or maybe I'm too much in love with the Flex to notice..as they say love is blind
@bgsitizen The second screen can be configured from the settings menu. Not the greatest yet, but something better than stock. And for wireless charging, well, that's extra. Need to buy a back and charger but at least that's all to it. Watch the dev threads for ROMs. I know there is one in beta right now.
well a v10 will replace my flex, probably picking up tonite. the pluses, removable battery and removable card. we have ruined 2 screens on the flex they wouldnt allow us to renew insurance on it. here is where the removable sd card shines, we had the charging port get damaged on the flex there was no way to get photos off it. Fortunately the charging board is removable it costs 9 dollars and was really easy to replace no weird t-something screws just 0 phillips. This was a big gamble since it didnt even power on, but once the board was on it worked, I pulled all photos off it. So I thought I'd replace the screen you can get screen w frame for around 100, all you have to do is put your battery, charging board and motherboard on it....fine everything was perfect for a few days then the display went wonky, it is unviewable. I have seen where the v10 was dropped under normal conditions and it survived very well, both times when the flex broke it was simply falling out of pocket.
