I have tried rumrunner for gaining S-OFF on my device as I hear it was the only method for hboot v1.54 and higher. The exploit seems to run fine and make it past all the tests. However, now, I can't get it to reboot into bootloader anymore (like it used to when I first used it); it just boots normally everytime it "pours." Rumrunner just proceeds to pouring(8)................ and then tells me to wait 30 seconds before turing the device back on (even though it never shuts down) and running rumrunner again. I have done this several times to no avail.
I'm currently running ARHD 31.6 w/TWRP custom recovery. Device is properly rooted and I have default SU access set to Allow instead of prompt (read somewhere that might be a solution, but not for me).
Any advice? I would love to revert to an older hboot and try a different method, but, of course, I need S-OFF to do that. I'm completely open to suggestions at this point. I have searched and searched (these forums, especially) and can't find anything that works.
Thanks in advance! :victory:

ROFL I was just going to post that firewater succeeded where all others failed. I tried it once and it hung, but tried it again and it worked. Thank you!
I have similar confusion . Can anyone have a look here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/help/s-off-hboot-1-56-confusion-t3020102

I think you are doing something wrong, i did S-off with rumrunner, and there was no such message. In fact, it will not ask you to reboot manually at all, see the instructions
http://rumrunner.us/instructions/
Agree to the terms and conditions you are prompted with in soju
Allow the exploit to do its work.
Your device will reboot several times throughout the process
Profit

I've do all but it don't work!!
I had this problem earlier, try changing the usb port/usb cable & disable any virus protection/firewalls.
Also, make sure your 'OS' version on the bootloader matches the version of rumrunner you have downloaded.
i kinda already got setup, unlocked, and everything on the stock rom, since this phone (and other htc phones) is/are "system locked" how do i get busybox on this? i figured they would stick through recovery but i cant seem to find a flashable busybox xbin/bin, and i know there USED to be a way to bypass the system lock but it used to cause kernel panics, what do i do ?
ive tried using moonshine but as i posted in that thread it just freezes after Test 2 at ERROR: ADB failure
You need to have S-OFF to install busybox via the actual app or you can just manually flash it via recovery.

Moonshine is the only way, just do it lol it's extremely easy. I've ruu'd my first countless times already and turned s-off many times too no problems.
Here's the thread I used to flash busybox before I turned my s-off though.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44175626
First I downloaded busybox from the playstore then I flashed it.

I used something called RUMRUNNER , I believe the url is something like rumrunner.us , anyways it uses similar commands as moonshine and similar website , but anyways since moonshine didn't work they recommended rumrunner on the irc and it worked perfect , the only thing though is that it caused a soft-brick which the only solution is to Relock the bootloader , which is fine because even with a lock boot loader you should still be able to flash roms and I think flash recoveries (I don't know just pick a custom recovery that you like just in case you can't later) and yeah that was it.
Oh another thing, if for some unknown reason you DONT wanna relock the boot loader (which keeps S-off after locking) then none of the roms based off stock will work, only the sense ports worked while unlocked and s-off for me.
But yeah this may not happen to everyone, just sharing my solution to a boot loop / soft brick if it happens to anyone who reads this as well.

After trying for hours to s-off, I have nothing to show for it. My boot loader is unlocked and I'm on 1.56 with viperone. I've tried firewater and rumrunner and neither have given me anything.
Firewater just gives the whelp message for whatever reason and rumrunner just runs through the 8 things and says reboot and run again and it keeps doing the same thing.
What has worked for you guys? The last time I did this I was able to use revone but now I have a new One that I got from at&t warranty.

... FireWater has been known best for 1.56 hboot. You should try some more even if you are already tired of doing that. Never let the device sleep during the process cuz it asks for superuser permissions many times. Even if this doesnt help, download another copy of Firewater and then try again :good: ...
If Firewater says whelp this sucks Firewater won't work blah blah then no amount of changing roms will help. You're stuck

Hi,
You mean android revolution HD 36 ?
Where can I find it ?
I see only 31.6 and 71 on this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023
I was trying to download that 31.6(Seanie maybe misspelled) and I couldn't download it because there were no mirrors :/
Any Luck?

If you have exhausted the many combinations for firewater and you are receiving the whelps this sucks message then your another alternative is the paid S-OFF Sunshine.

Is that a guaranteed s-off? I wouldn't want to waste 25$
It isn't wasted. It does compatibility checks before it does anything. Most important thing is to have stock kernel for it to work

Now I am getting no signal.
I changed the CID to 11111111 and flashed a Bell Mobility Nandroid Backup since I intend on using it on Bell... the damned thing doesn't get signal...
Try flashing a newer firmware?
[Guide] HTC ONE Hboot 1.57 Root S-Off Change CID Downgrade Hboot & OS
Search the above phrase on google. The first result should be from the site forums(dot)gsmhosting(com) with the title same as search.
I am a new user so I can't post external links.
I used that guide to achieve S-Off on my HTC One M7 UL with Hboot v. 1.57.
I had to run the final firewater commands several times before firewater launched finally. Enough tries to make me memorize those commands so I stopped copying and pasting them and instead actually typing them. But it worked for me.
I hope it helps.

Have you checked settings to see what network mode is checked? Check each one separately to see which one gives the best results. Auto generally works best! Did you have a GSM or CDMA phone?
Starting point: android 4.4.3 hboot 1.57, bootloader unlocked.
I wanted to play some with my phone. I flashed recovery via adb (TWRP) and after that I wiped system, cache and internal memory from recovery. My downloaded ROM (Insert Coin) was on internal memory so now I'm stuck. I can enter recovery and that's pretty much all. I tried sideloading and it moved file correctly but when I tried installing this "sideload.zip" file it gave me error after several seconds, something like unable to open the file. Can someone help me with this problem? Thanks in advance
In the mean time, before installing recovery, I flashed new kernel (bulletproof) - I don't know if that may be the cause.

what version of TWRP ?
Try version 2.6.3.3 if you have a GSM HTC One m7
Thank you for your response. Fortunately it worked after third or fourth time. Dunno why 0.o. And another question I wanted to do S-off but firewater says something about being unable to do this: "whelp, this sucks..." I remember acquiring s-off sometime ago (on different hboot though) so why?
Whelp this sucks means Firewater won't work on your phone. Only choice is using sunshine. It will cost you $25 but it does work

You should be able to use firewater. I have the HTC One M7 as well (with T-Mobile) and I used firewater to S-Off my phone. I just know that you need to have an internet connection for it to work. Also try revone or moonshine.
Revone or moonshine do not work on new hboots. Nor will Firewater work if you get the whelp this sucks message. Like I said, sunshine or nothing
Hmm ok. Well anyways I'm not sure why it didn't work for OP. I used firewater and it went just fine.
