Interested in developing, but where to start? - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello i have access to the web and with it vast amounts of information. I am good at teaching myself things however not sure where to begin.. Love my note 3 and i have been interested in development and custom roms for a while. And now that i see although great custom roms already being developed not a lot of variety maybe someone can point me in the right direction to take a peak into what is involved and necessary.....
Thanks in advanced

Asking for help with diploma thesis survey

I am currently writing a diploma thesis on mobile distribution platforms and would like to kindly ask the community to fill out my very short anonymous form that I'll use as a basis for research.

Done. I figure you're going to need more than 3 people to fill out the survey.
I did the survey.
I am the one that left the comment about Google removing apps from your phone. Were you asking if I think they are capable of removing the app or are you asking if I think they should be allowed to do it?
I think they are capable, but I don't think they should do it.
Done!

Just Rooted MJ5 Note 3

Now that I am rooted what sorts of things can I do? I have had an iPhone for 5 years and jailbreaking was really simple. I want to get a better understanding how flashing roms and where I should start off at as to getting so more cool stuff on my phone.
Lol as of now you can install rooted apps the note 3 is bootloader locked so no roms rightnow but since you came from an iPhone you dont have to be rooted to customize your phone

Best place to look for now is playstore whenbor if we get bootloader unlocked cause twrp/Cwm is a must for flashable roms and mods

Can't we do a little customizing with xsposed and some of its modules

Here are a couple helpful pointers to remember here ...all of the below are care of this post...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16682226&postcount=2441
XDA is a developers site
XDA is a free forum you are ALLOWED to use. We could make it invite only
XDA is not a place to come and make your phone cool.
XDA is not the cool place for idiots to hang out.
XDA is not your friends house
XDA is not a democracy
XDA is not a place to make Money
Take some time to educate yourself, as XDA is not technically a support site, this thread will be closed as I expect it will soon become a thread about which of the mods, to include roms, is better.

Search before posting! This always happens when a new update comes out . there's already a thread on this.

Thanks for the heads up. Of course, you could've just ignored it, like most will.

Well you didn't follow one of the rules to.search before you make a thread. Which if you would have done you would have seen the thread that I linked.

There is no need for a cluster of threads that cover the same thing. Its pointless.

Hey i know this is a dead issue i was reading the other thread that got closed and it had a download link. Was that for our phones or the new s4? I only ask cuz i seen you in there. Sorry if this isn't the place for it. But the download link downloads so does that mean the kernel is there ? It made me agree to there "Don't blame us if your s#it dies" terms but its downloading. Thats not a good thing is it?

Theres a download link for the source code for the kernel only. So unless you know how to compile source its not worth much to the regular user. So don't download or flash it. We will have to wait for a update to come out for Roms to be built.

AND It's for our phone: L720
And?

So endless rants on such a touchy subject aren't clogging the threads?
It appears you need to also remind a few other folks as to their errant behavior. Being the titular "Head of Thread" has its perks as well as its responsibilities. Should I link the other offenders for you?

Why do people ASSUME that someone didn't search first? I mean, do YOU always get a hit when you do a search no matter what? Do YOU never construct a query that makes perfect sense to you but which doesn't net results? I know I don't always get it right and I'm sure that's true of everyone.
I mean, I agree, it's hard to imagine doing so in this particular case, but regardless, we can argue about whether it's a big deal to break this rule 'til we're blue in the face (it's a rule, so breaking it matters, but OTOH is it really THAT big a deal?) but that aside, the ASSUMPTION that someone in fact didn't do a search seems a bit unfair, no? Keep in mind that angross was trying to be helpful... that's what we WANT of a community, isn't it? That tends to stop when people feel they got slapped last time for trying to be helpful.
How about simply: "Hey, friendly reminder in case you didn't: please search first so we can avoid double posts"... gets the same point across without sounding like you're being heavy, right?

Seems fine to me. The link is for a screen shot of his phone on a respectable site. There are no issues with this link. And has been posted above the issue is quite openly stated. He has a problem with a game.... Any useful suggestions would be welcome.
His wording did not suggest any issues on my mind.
Hopefully someone will be by shortly to assist.
Will probably need someone that has game to verify. Gonna be hard to find someone willing to pay $10 to test it.
