Ghostek Blitz Slim Thin Matte Case - One (M8) Accessories

This case looks pretty good, anyone try it yet??
eBay

Nice case I'll be following this thread to see how it actually looks on it if anyone bought it

Looks nice. However I'm not a fan of built in screen protectors. Would much rather companies toss one in separately.
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk

Looks pretty sweet and doesn't appear to take away from the thin frame. I'd most certainly knock out the screen protector tho. Let us know if you try it out. I'm in the market for a case as i just ordered my M8 a few days ago. I'm mostly concerned about the case not scratching up the metal casing and enough elevation around the camera lens all while not taking away from the thin frame of the phone

IR
One thing I would possibly be worried about is it blocking the IR blaster. From the photos it seems like the power button, and the top bar is completely covered with rubber. Not sure... just an observation.

Diztronic matte case.. and Spigen HD Ultra Crystal Screen Protectors..

Just thought I'd give my 2 cents on these.. I just applied the Ultra Crystal Spigen screen protector and yes they are ultra clear.. other than barely being able to see the edges around the perimeter they are undetectable. Exactly what I was looking for.. I stopped using screen protectors because they always compromised in some way the quality of the screen and I've tried a few of the most popular.. these are fantastic.. 2 for $13 and pretty darn easy to apply. The only down side from the reviews I had watched was they are harder to clean off fingerprints than the glass.
Also I received the Diztronic matte finish super thin case.. it's slightly soft and has the matte finish. I believe this is the thinnest best case that will give a decent amount of drop protection.. definitely not the greatest protection but way better than a naked phone. $9 on amazon. It seems really good quality .. the cutouts are bevelled smooth . I really like the feel of it and it barely wraps around the bezel.. so it doesn't mess with the screen protector.. which I was slightly worried about.
i concur with your feedback on the Diztronic case... i will always use a case and this one has the right balance of protection, thinness and coverage.
Just uploaded a video of a kickstand I added to the case.. it's pretty cool and cheap.. and somewhat ghetto but very functional.

I have had a diztronic case of the same type on my Galaxy Nexus for the past year and a half and I love it. I'm dying here waiting for the Verizon G2 version to release.
I have the same brand on my current phone and love it.
I'm considering this case but I'm a bit skeptical. It appears to have a thicker area around the edges... Kinda like a bumper. Is this true? Does the front of the case cover any of the screen?
As far as the back.. It looks like the buttons are a bit deeper down because of the case. Does this make the buttons any harder to push while holding with 1 hand?
Thanks for posting this BTW

nope.. the lip where it comes over the front of the screen doesn't cover any of the screen.. it only covers the very tiny bezel surrounding the screen. As far as the buttons on the back.. they are a bit deeper down because of the case but it actually makes it easier to find them.. your fingers just drop right down in where they are and it doesn't effect pushing them at all that I've noticed. After a couple days with the phone and a day with case and screen protector I'm feeling pretty darn good about the whole deal... like I'm done. Well.. till the lg g3 comes out :good:

I believe this is different. AT&T has a microphone near the camera and this case doesn't have the cut out. I believe they are making one for AT&T.

Yeah you can see from the OP's pics that it doesn't have a cutout of the tiny mic hole on the rear casing of the AT&T version. This case is definitely on my watch list, although I have a Poetic Palette on it right now and really appreciate the minimal bulk it adds while offering basic scratch/ding protection and a better grip. So right now it's either keep the Poetic, an Incipio Feather once they're available, or this case once it's available for AT&T. That's where my thoughts are right now anyways.

Just got the Spigen Clear Capsule for my M8.

The fit is perfect, as with all of Spigen's products. The shape follows the curves of the phone well. There is an edge around the side that feels great in the hand. The front has a slight lip that keeps the screen safe when placed face down. The look is optically clear and flawless, it really shows off the aluminum. The feel is smooth and "sticky". This case won't be slipping out of your hand anytime soon. Pair this with a Spigen screen protector (I did) and your investment is safe.

Just ordered one of those.
Got it from an Amazon seller with great feedback. Hopefully it is legit.
It's about 1/8" thick but it doesn't add that much size to the phone, it's already a heavy phone to begin with. I know there are thinner cases out there but for me, it's a good trade off for the quality and the protection it affords.

Their loss in my case. I didn't have time to wait with my job so I had to move to another maker. I really wanted a Spigen too. Glad to see its working for ya. Maybe on my next phone I'll give them a shot...
My case came in today as well. Love the look and this phone is phone is no longer slippery. Bestcase so far.
I have one of these on the way as well. I like that it's clear so I can still show off the beautiful gunmetal grey finish.
I ordered one but now might return it. Going to be here in a day or two but now I want to add this qi wireless charging solution where you hide the receiver in a case. http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Univ...id=1396026021&sr=8-1&keywords=type+b+micro+qi Wonder if I could spray paint the wireless receiver to a gunmetal type color and if it would look ok in the clear case? Probably a dumb idea.
I do have the dot view case already that I think I could hide it in. Though I'm not sure I want to always use that case. It's neat but I think it's novelty will wear off and it'll get annoying. Anyway if you want to read more on wireless charging there's a thread in this forum.

Been looking for something like this thanks!
I went to order my Spigen a week or so ago (I had posted about them in this forum). When I tried to order from my wishlist on Amazon it said someone already ordered me two. I was thinking my Dad. He says he didn't. I am hoping it comes today, and it was not an amazon glitch. LOL.
In case anyone didn't know they seem to be back up on the site (No longer saying mid- April)
I just received mine.
Definitely a *very* Spigen product, consistent with their design philosophy.
Let's start with the con:
• Edges are rather sharp, it lacks that rounded edges. As a result, it feels like a fair bit of bulk is added.
And the pros:
• The TPU material is definitely the best out there; about 4-5x thicker on the back side than the average TPU cases, and about 2x thicker around the sides/bezel/lip.
• Fairly decent lay on the table on the front face, leaving an ample clearance between the screen and table surface if you're laying it screen facing down.
• Audio port and USB port have their own cut-outs, and they're nice and have ample enough opening for most (respective) accessories.
• Volume buttons and power buttons are covered, and they have a very satisfying tactile feel when pressed.
• Clear material, really shows the true colour of the M8's Gunmetal Grey. Some TPU cases cloudy clarity; but not the case with Spigen's. EDIT: Someone mentioned a tint of yellow of the rubber; I noticed it too; but I believe it heavily depends on the kind of light that hits the TPU material.
• Improves tact; texture on the TPU material adds grip.
Things to watch out for:
• As like most clear TPU, there might be discoloration overtime. We'll see how the Spigen's Ultra Fit Capsule fares in the long run.
• Spigen's other Ultra Fit products come with a screen protector. Wouldn't hurt for Spigen to bundle the Ultra Fit capsule with a screen protector.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the purchase! Spigen never disappoints. But having said that, I wish they'd curve the edges slightly.
7.5/10 (that sharp edges really hurt the score).
My case came today as well, and it looks very sturdy. I hope the TPU doesn't turn yellow though! A good case for everyday use.

Exact Prism clear case (similar to Supcase's Hybrid Bumper Case) review with pics

I saw earlier that this case I recently got looks very similar to the SUPCASE hybrid bumper case posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706539
Thought I'd post some pictures then and a quick review, since this case is a few bucks cheaper than the SUPCASE after shipping costs and everything, so you guys can get a deal on a preeeeeetty good case. All the cut-outs are where they need to be, the bumper TPU looks glossier than most TPU that are matte, and the HTC One's back looks slick as ever in the clear back window. Can't ask for much more in a case under ten bucks.

HTC One M8
Just got this case. So far my favorite case. I have the Hyperion, the cimo, the dot view but so far this is my favorite.
I got this case as well, in black. The top and bottom lips are loose like someone mentioned and quite a bit of dust gets under it . Overall the case looks pretty sleek and the clear back definitely shows off the nice metallic look. However, I feel that the case adds quite a bit of weight to the phone. Maybe I'm just used to the cruzerlite bugdroid cases as I've had on my older phones. Does anyone have both the exact prism and the cruzerlite cases and able to comment on their thoughts?
Ah, thanks for the review. I have the Supcase one and it also has the problem with the top and bottom lips being a little loose. I wonder if these are all the same cases with just different logos slapped on the back? I dunno... I also ordered the amCase deal, on it's way. Curious to see if that one's any better.

I don't think anyone will be better than the other.. If you ask me they are probably all made in the same plant(or few plants) just some are stamped with the individual company logo and some are not. There are also a bunch of the same type of case on ebay with no brand name. I mean a lot of these cases that these companies brand are just generic cases from China.

My cheapo amCase came in today... It's basically the same design as all the others, but the back is a matte frosted plastic which actually makes the phone more awkward to hold, it's a little slippery. Basically the same exact tpu bumper, but mine has slightly more sag at the top and bottom lips. I like the way the glossy Supcase feels... will keep the amCase as a $2 spare, lol.
Just picked one up... Definitely like how it shows off my Amber Gold while protecting my device. I don't like how hard it is to get the phone in and out of the case.

I have this same case in the same color. My only issue with this case is the volume control buttons are a little stiff. I hope that will fix itself when the case gets broken-in. I love how this case shows off the body of the M8 through the clear back.
I like the quality of the side's. Would love an all matte case. All I've found have a matte back with glossy sides.

I've seen one by Griffin, has the matte sides, but a glossy back, lol. Saw it at an unofficial Verizon store, was $24.99, which is obviously a lot for a case like this. The sales guy opened it up for me, the matte sides were actually kind of slippery, no grip to them.
Nice review, thanks. Just worried as people seem to complain about the gap on the top and bottom. Luckily they're cheap so no big loss if I didnt like it
In your opinion, this the best clear case out there?
I can't really say, as I haven't tried all the cases. However, evidence points to this case being generic and is identical to clear cases from other brands. The Exact Prism case is at a good price though, so I would wholly recommend it, despite the looser fit.
Anyone have the white/clear one? I was wondering if the white stains

Case Mate Barely There Review

So I picked this case up a week ago and put it through it's paces so I thought I would share my my experience with it.
Pros:
- Very slim. Adds almost no thickness to the phone
- Offers good scratch protection for the back and the lens of the phone
- Crystal clear
- Offers a bit more grip.
Cons:
- The fit is a little off. When the case is on, there's a little bit of play up and down and every once in a while, you can feel the sides of the case give when you're gripping the phone suggesting that the fitment on the side is a little off.
- Rough edges. I have a tempered glass screen protector on the phone and it helps makes the front of the phone flush with the edges of the case. Even with this, the edges of the case are sharp. The sides aren't particularly noticeable but the cutout for the camera near the top of the phone becomes very apparent when using the phone landscape. MSRP for this case is $25 dollars and at that price range, I believe rounding the edges to make the case feel a little nicer in your hands is not an absurd expectation.
Overall I really like the case. The fitment issues isn't big enough to affect the performance of the case. It snaps on strong and stays on. The fact that there's a bit of flexing annoys me, that's all. My biggest gripe with the case has to be the rough edges. If you could overlook that, this case is a definite winner if you're looking for a sleek clear case to show off and protect the beautiful aluminum finish of the M8.

You can get it from Amazon for cheaper:

I'll post some pictures soon.
I agree it's not as "snug" as other Barely There cases I've had in the past. I wish they would have covered the top and bottom some what though.
I've upgraded now to the Naked Tough which is essentially the Barely There but with a TPU bumper. In fact if the Barely There was just like the hard section of the Naked Tough, it would be perfect.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Thanks for the review. I used to love the Barely There cases, but as you mentioned, the edges are kind of rough and sharp. Too bad.
I agree that the edges are a little on the rough side but my case has no play in it at all. Its almost to tight, which I guess is good expect for when I've had to remove it. I ordered mine from amazon so maybe with it sitting in storage it shrunk?
This has been the best slim case I have found. I only use the case for light protection and grip mostly. not really for protection.

Yeah that's the trade off with these slim cases. You're getting pretty much zero drop protection and only minor cosmetic damage protection. I could deal without drop protection if only the Barely There covered the top and bottom, I'd be happy with just all round cosmetic damage protection from it. Ended up opting for its bigger brother the Naked Tough.

I also bought this case and was fully satisfied with it for a while, then the soft touch coating began to peel off. I guess it was my fault, I work in a hospital and clean my phones daily with alcohol. For a long time I've been using spigen ultra fit cases that are also soft touch, and never has the soft touch coating peeled off. On the barely there case it only lasted 3 weeks. Now I forcefully rinsed off almost all the coating. It still works, but it's slippery and looks awfull.

The fit is not very tight and the grip isn't so good like from the HTC Translucent Case.
It don't protect the top and bottom sides nor the plugs nor the buttons.
It's very thin and you can see the beautiful brushed metal back of your M8. :good:
Both are made in China.

Has anybody gotten the official nexus case with the cloth back? Would you mind uploading a couple pics and general impressions?
Thanks!

My impression is that it's an amazing case. Fits great and the cloth backing is very unique. I love the feel of it. I can't use all the time because I'm in medical field and feel like it'll be a magnet for bacteria but otherwise I love the look and feel of it. Also I don't think it'll work good with tempered glass screen protectors because the lip around the screen feelz pretty tight.
Glad to hear it! Also, I'm a resident so we shall see how this case fares lol
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
I like the case, but it does push on the glass screen protector. My screen protector placement was off by about 0.05mm towards the right, and that may be contributing towards the problem. Since I'm usually unlocking the phone with the fingerprint reader, I don't end up using those buttons much anyways.

Sad, the $35 Adopted case seems to be the only available design forward case. I think all the cases on Amazon look like cheap plastic with a giant logo endorsing the cheap plastic. I'm a fan of a naked device, but acknowledge that's not always the safest for the device. Maybe in time, we will see a balance between price, function, and design from somebody. In the interim, the quartz Adopted case is in the running for me. I am also in healthcare, but tend to only handle my phone after I am washed up and keep the phone in a non-patient care area. With that said, the fabric on the back would be difficult to clean.

No photos, but I have it and like it. The back fabric is very soft & smooth, a cross between felt and well-worn jeans. So far the geometric print and "nexus" print lettering is holding up. There's a nice solid rubber bumper around the camera, so no worries about damaging it. Fit on the front is essentially 95% perfect with a Pleson screen protector... basically there's a hair's width of movement on the edges if I push hard when the case slips up over the protector.

Same experience here. Generally good, just little quibbles like this. My initial reaction was that it felt like a cheap piece of carpeted rubber from the '70s, but it's growing on me. I also wonder how much disgusting filth is going to accumulate in the microfiber over time... hopefully it's not too absorbent.
I love the feel of it but my only gripe would be the lip over the front of the hugs the screen I bit too much and a bit too tight. Dust and pocket lint gets caught in between the screen and lip way too easily. Making my otherwise perfect phone look dirty. I had to take it off because of that. Still contemplating putting it back on because the back is awesome. I'm warming up to the bare phone now though.

Tempered Glass Screen Protector.
Does anyone have or tried the folio version of the case? Not sure which one I should get, but when a flip case is made well i usually prefer them to standard ones.
i have the carbon case (the one without the flip cover) for my carbon 5X and I love it. I am confident that it would protect the device from most standard drops and whatnot. I also have a glass screen protector on mine and it is a bit of a tight fit but it still works. The cloth on the back is capable of getting wet without it ruining it, at least a few times anyway. I occasionally take an antibacterial wipe to my devices and the same goes for the case. It definitely absorbs the liquid but after a 20 minute air dry it's dry and ready to go again. still looks and feels just like the day I bought it. There are thinner cases out there but they offer less protection.
Does nexus 5x spigen 9h protector fits with original adopted nexus case?
If they don't fit together, do you have any recommendation for case that looks like adopted with equal or better quality and protection ?
And is there better screen protector than spigen 9h?
does anyone have a contact email for customer services at the google store? I want the folio case in quartz but it's out of stock at the moment. Need to know when it will be back in stock. In the mean time i have a Ringke slim case for protection.
