You can't as far as I'm aware , just ignore it till it boots into your chosen rom , it does no harm unless you plan to lock the phone and sell it where I would guess it will disappear ?
Sorry I have no experience in this as I've never relocked a phone

Read this thread. It was the first thread I read when I joined and I consider myself very lucky for that.
Make sure you follow ALL the steps..
Now please answer a few questions..
1) Are you able to boot into bootloader mode? (using volume down and power button)
2) Does it say unlocked?
3) Did you find the rom on this forum?
4) Did you install a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP?
First read that thread
Edit: Wait a second.. CM 10.1??
Bro, you can only install desire c roms on your phone, you may br mistaken but roms are ABSOLUTELY NOT INTERCHANGABLE. Try flashing a rom from the desire c android development forums.

First download a recovery image. Save it in the platform tools folder of your android SDK install.
Go to bootloader, plug your USB cable into the PC, enter fastboot. On your PC navigate to the platform tools folder again, Ctrl+shift + right click and select "open command window here", or something similar. Type fastboot devices to see if your phone is connected. Then fastboot erase cache and fastboot flash recovery <name of your recovery image>.img plug out your cable and try to boot into recovery.
Should fix it

Hi to all, I am using htc desire c golfu and I am facing a problem with cwm red message "this build is for development purposes only" specially when i am trying to install via fastboot any boot.img (such as kernel or rom image that is responsible for wifi to work and the phone doesn't boot to homescreen, reboots again with the htc logo and cwm red message below)!. (As with Nameless rom guide,What i haven't done in those two ways i tried to install the images was to take out the battery, I boot to bootloader by holding volume down + Power!
So, what I had to do 2 times, was to relock and flash again the stock rom!
P.S. I don't have a problem installing rom zips with sdcard
Thanks for the help!

You need to have your bootloader unlocked. Install a custom rom and then install a kernel. Make sure you full wipe before you install the rom. Try the lowest possible frequency. Make sure you have the correct kernel.

I have to mention that I have done the root two times (I have a backup, full wipe with cwm and then flash zip from the card), but i stacked when I had to flash the boot.img (first was when I have flashed the "auto boot img" from revolution mod 3vs3 for fixing the wifi & second when I wanted to flash a nope kernel img with revolution job rom)! It's like the phone doesn't want the command boot.img (even though I see on my screen that it has been flashed but when I reboot, cwm red message appears)!
Try lower MHz kernel

to disapear this you have to unroot your device
Ok, i unlocked my bootloader then this started happening.
This build is for development purpose only. Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action.
After it does this, it does nothing else. If im lucky enough i can get it to boot the bootloader. It takes a while for me even to get it to turn on. I think i may have flashed a bad kernel or something. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. (RUU installer says my HBOOT version is " ", not sure what that meant)
What i did before it happened:
Unlocked the bootloader
got the "This build is for development purpose only" message
**Problems started here**
Flashed CWM (worked for a short time and gave up)
Tried flashing CM10 with no luck
Tried to flash a boot.img (not sure which one i tried)
**and here**
(I will update this if i get it to boot..)
Check this forum for a solution and just for clarity it IS the Desire C you have and NOT Desire C Cricket?
If you don't have any joy with what is in the forum to get your phone up and running send me a PM

Donot use any source available here in this section because this is all for GSM Desire C only and if you do anything from this section, You MAY brick your device...
Stick to the link which has been provided in the last post for restoring and rooting/unlocking bootloader for your cricket desire c
Hey there!
So recently I've been playing around with root and I seem to have bricked my device.
Whenever I try to start up the phone it goes to a black screen. I loaded into hboot for a factory reset, but that didn't work either. The phone simply doesn't start. I can access recovery mode and it seems that I need the TWRP recovery installed. So I tried to flash it on the phone, unsuccessfully. Is there any way to gain access to my phone (with losing everything if needed)?
Thanks in advance

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
Makes me wonder what was done with root to brick the device. Was it a build.prop edit?
At any rate, I am connecting this thread to the forum your device experts can be found:
> HTC One (M7) > One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Please note, to respond to replies, you will need to register for an XDA account.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
Hi there eveyone, thank you for reading this.
a friend of mine has an HTC Desire OPM1100 D626ph (says on the back of the phone)
when he tries to update to the newer version (the official way) He faces an error, the phone restarts and its stuck now on an endless loop. the options he had was htc recovery menu. he has tried all the options there in hope of fixing the problem.(he doesn't know english) and he probably ruined everything. now the phone doesn't have a back up, nothing works. ADB wasn't turned on in the begining. no fast boot. the only options i think i have is to download a rom via sdcard.(not even sure if it's external)
these are the options on the menu:
reboot system now:
apply update from adb
apply update from sdcard
apply update from cache
wipe /data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
backup user data
restore user data
any help on this would be appreciated, any ideas what should be my next step? i have history of using fastboot/adb. i don't know which rom i should download and from where? htc website confused me and the onlyy thread i found on the internet was this one and there are several links on there. not sure which one should i use?
thanks again guys.
Which carrier is he on? Also, we would need to know if it's a 626, 626s, 626x, 626g, etc... Not sure which model it is from the info posted above. If it's a 626s, the only way to recover is if it's a T-Mobile 626s (no other versions have an RUU to restore it to stock).

thank you for your response
it's an HTC Desire 626G+ (dual sim) and the carrier is "Telecommunication Company of Iran"
Hmm - I would have him contact his carrier and see if they have an "RUU" available for that phone. An "RUU" is Windows application that will reset the phone back to the way it came from the factory - and can typically restore any phone - unless it has a hardware issue.
Otherwise, let's see if anyone else has any input (I'm not familiar with the 626g myself).
Sorry that I couldn't be more helpful!

i don't think the carrier would help out with this. though it made me think he didn't do anything wrong so do you think that warranty will accept the phone?
The carrier are the ones that need to supply the RUU (either directly or via HTC), which I why I mentioned that he should contact the carrier.
I would agree that it's a warranty issue if he we just trying to install an OTA update and it caused all of this...

i have same problem with D626ph. I was rooted phone with kingroot after this try to update with ota and result was error and phone boot only to recovery menu
Ahhh - yeah, if you are rooted (and unlocked bootloader), you cannot apply OTA updates. Although, usually, they fail right away and you can just boot right back into the phone normally (without the update, obviously). It's kinda strange that the OTA is bricking the phone like that.

Your link requires an decryption key.
pl provide key. facing the same problem with htc 626g+. Updated via official OTA. Sad that they rolled it without thoroughly testing it.
Have you guys contacted HTC and/or the carrier? They should resolve this issue for you (via an RUU or some other means)!

Guys thank you for your replies. I'm kinda new to xda forum. Should i reply one by one and quote people's names or just reply in one comment? Are there any rules?
About the post, it's weird that many people are experiencing the same problem! And where i live phone carriers don't care about phone problems and it's the first time I'm hearing that i should contact my carrier for my bricked device. But things are differently in different countries ?? to @tpr0 i might try your solution when i get my hands on the device againand if no one provides a better suggestion. Because i gave it back to my friend and told him to try the warranty. After a day turned out he has bought the device without a warranty! They sell phones without warranty in iran for a cheaper price. I think it's worth paying 50 more dollars for a 1-2 years warranty. Anyway I'll let you guys know as soon my friend returns his phone (which will be pretty soon I'm guessing. Meanwhile ill wait if anyone has a link for the ROM or a solution.
try this:

can u tell me the procedure for working with this file ??

Im facing the same problem with desire 626 dual sim, after update phone back me to the recovery menu and giving me message update fail. After phone reboot stuck me on recovery menu and thats is. With 2 hours reading forums, the only way was to flash stock rom via Spflash tool..Afterall banned update from phone ! I dont know why is that issues if someone knows tha answer please let tell us ?
If you're using a phone from Iran I think you have bigger things to worry about.
MY PHONE IS A HTC DESIRE 626, I wanted to install a custom recovery but I downloaded the TWRP image for HTC DESIRE 626s instead of 626 only so it didn't work but I had it flashed already that could have caused my problems but I'm not sure. I tried turning off OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging in the Developer Options but it still didn't help and now the phone is CHARGING SUPER SLOW. it cannot increase from 3 %
*PLEASE ANYONE WHO IS SEEING THIS HELP ME MAN I WOULD REALLY REALLY APPRECIATE IT*
I was thinking of trying to uninstall the custom recovery image I flashed but i don't know-how
please, anyone, I know only a few shall see this but if you are one of them please help me man if you know how to get me out of this nightmare. you'll be such a hero
