Hi Guy's
I am running a HTC one M7, Bought outright in Australia unlocked
-When I first got the phone I got rid of sense and rooted it and loaded up Bigxie Google rom 4.3
-I decided today to try upgrade to 4.4, I made a big mistake and went ahead and did it without S-Offing
-Long story short I had to side load 4.3 again after getting the Bootloop with 4.4 I assume due to no S-Off
After getting the phone back up and running again on 4.3 I have spent the last 8 Hours trying to S-Off
So far I have tried RumRunner, Firewater, temproot then firewater and Revone. All seem to fail or just finish with
no error, Rumrunner mentioned something about an Unsecure Kernel I am running kernel "3.4.10-ge22f38b"
Im running HBOOT-1.54
SuperSU v1.94
CWM 6.0.4.8
Anything you can suggest? is it possible to change kernels and if so what to?

hmm, no version-main.
anyway, hboot and radio would indicate a 2.24 version, so find a custom ROM (such as http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407589210 )
which is rooted and has an unsecured kernel
then try firewater and rumrunner
But please remember S-Off allows you to do a lot of things, including hard-bricking your phone, so do this only if you feel you are good with the idea of S-Off and have done some research about the various components of your phone.
.
Thanks, I will try.
Really the only reason I want S-Off is so I can load
"[ROM][m7]Android 4.4 KRT16S Google Play Edition - Rooted/Busybox/Odexed (11/26/13)"
Seems easy for most users phone but not mine
Hello All!
At first sorry for my bad english but i think you will understand it!
I got a S-off problem to!
My phone is HTC-Dev unlocked and my phone is currently running Viper.

Google Edition.
With Firewater i get a error.
With Rumrunner it's keeps running till 8 and stops
With Moonshine its keeps also running till 10 or something...

Just an update, I finally got S-Off, at first I wasn't going to bother with continuing my Quest to S-Off my HTC One after how much difficulty
I had however after having glitchy issues with my Google 4.3 ROM I delved in again and ended up flashing the Latest ViperOne venom Rom, after this I tried RumRunner again and after a while it successfully S-Off'd, now going to retry loading Google 4.4, maybe I should give the Viper ROM a go but I just like the look of the google rom more I think
Thanks a bunch for all the help in this post and the forum

Couldn`t work as you are S-On. I think you`re stuck bro afaik. Maybe someone else knows a solution. Good luck.
That's odd. It shouldn't have run at all since you can't downgrade using a RUU without s-off. It should have prompted a RUU error noting that you were on a later version.
Is your phone rooted and unlocked yet? Did you do anything to it besides run the RUU?
Can't you just use fastboot to push a custom recovery and then sideload a custom or stock ROM?

Looks like his only option. Surprised that the RUU wiped his device before getting the error.
There's no way to downgrade hboot with s-on atm.
I'm gonna be 'that guy'... What the heck were you doing flashing an RUU on S-on with 'limited IT knowledge'...
There's a reason RUUs aren't released. It's to prevent this.
On a side note I would try another RUU download. Where are you getting the error at? What's the phone doing?
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I'm wondering now. Did you actually try to fastboot flash the 1.44 WWE firmware.zip in RUU mode despite being s-on? Because if you really did that, the phone is dead. You're getting a signature error because the phone is s-on and you managed to corrupt something important. Being s-on, I doubt there is any way to fix it.
An expensive lesson, but maybe you'll be more careful next time. Gaining s-off isn't worth bricking your phone.
This is confusing as the official RUU's (exe's and zips) will simply not allow you to downgrade the hboot or to flash an older version of the firmware without having s-off so my thoughts are exactly the same as iElvis.
I cannot see how you managed to do what you did.
So questions....
Are you running a custom recovery?
Is your bootloader locked or unlocked?
Have you tried holding vol down and power for about 15 to 30 seconds to see if you can get into the bootloader?
Did you do something like reboot into bootloader, fastboot oem rebootRUU and then fastboot flash zip firmware.zip?
TELL US the exact steps you went through so we can try to help you and worst case scenario you have bricked your phone.
I am having a similar problem only i have S-off but i cant find the right RUU or the right recovery.img to fastboot it .
If you have rumrunner_HTC_0.5.0.zip you could gain s-off very easy .

Hello,
I recently flashed RUU-HTC_One_GE-2.14.1700.15 to my M7 to see what it was like. Not getting on with it very well i decided to go back to ARHD. When i tried to restore my back up it got stuck in a boot loop.
I then tried a fresh install of ARHD, deleting all data, but this time it will show the splash screen hang for a while and then reboot into recovery.
I have also tried flashing Venom's latest ROM but it dose the same as ARHD.
I am S-OFF and my HBOOT is 1.54

update your recovery to TWRP 2.6.3.3
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
and flash any roms you want... Do Not Go S-on with the GPE Bootloader installed... RUU back to Stock before you consider s-on .. better yet stay s-off forever !!

This worked a treat. Had to load an older version of ARHD first but got up to 71, eventually.
I have a T Mobile M7 with HBOOT 1.56. I've unlocked, rooted it and installed a custom rom on it just fine with S-ON. I'm trying to return it for warranty, and I've spent hours trying to get just a stock recovery and ROM installed. No RUUs, prepackaged AROMA installers, etc. will work so far. I want to try and get everything restored with an RUU after getting S-OFF on the phone. I've tried some of the utilities in the past without any luck, but have run across some threads saying that some some roms work better than others. What Roms have had the best success with Firewater etc. on HBOOT 1.56. No luck currently on Maximus HD 44

try some combination of custom rom with unsecured kernels. ARHD, elementalX for example. You could also try other exploits like Sunshine s-off
Should I be flashing the unsecured kernel separately after the rom?

Some roms already have unsecured kernel so you might want to try using the kernel included with the rom before flashing another kernel.
I tried ARHD and Maximus HD without any luck, so I'm just going to try to find a reset rom. I posted a new Q thread since it was a different question. Thanks!
So a few days ago, i received an HTC One M7 from my dad. Having rooted and played around with other devices before, I immediately looked up all the guides and necessities to get this thing up and running. It was running Lollipop when i got it, so that means its running HBOOT 1.61.0000. After digging around some more, I learned that It isnt possible to s-off with this version of bootloader. And to go around this, I have to downgrade with a RUU. Now here's my real problem, I cant find a RUU compatible with my CID. I'll paste what i got from the fastboot getvar all command below and any help would be great.

You can stop looking for RUUs because you need to be s-off in order to downgrade h-boot. You can s-off your phone with sunshine, but that costs 25$

What about the Guru Reset Roms/Tools? I tried installing a 4.3 Asia WWE guru rom and HBOOT was still the same. If I go down to 4.1.? will it downgrade? I would just like to know if there's anything else before I lay down USD$25 on sunshine.

As I said before - you can't downgrade h-boot with s-on. Sunshine is the only way to s-off your phone. OK, there is a gold card option, but that is even more expensive than sunshine, and it's complicated to do
I'll keep this short but explain as much as I can, even though I'm not very technically skilled with any of this modding stuff .
I was running some rom for a while, I believe it was close to stock, rooted, running Superuser with TWRP etc. One day I managed to update Superuser and it caused a bootloop. Desperately trying to sort it out I've read numerous posts on recovering from bootloops etc but it has mostly resulted in me removing TWRP and reinstalling the same ROM / something similar and running recovery etc but to no avail..

If there's anyone out there willing to help out that would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm afraid the point where I could fix this on my own is long gone
Goal is to get the phone close to stock and receieve official updates from HTC. I just want it to be functional at this point.

Phone is currently ***Tampered*** & ***Relocked***

I highly doubt there will be any official updates for M7, but you can run RUU. That will bring you back to full stock. Also, since you're s-off, you didn't need to relock your bootloader

Figured relocking was pointless after reading some more.. Managed to unlock it again and get TWRP back and install Slim 6 after the full wipe (No idea if it's any good yet) I'm having some issues with getting the SIM to be registered but I'm hopeful I can get it working soon.
If I were to go back to full stock, could you easily point out which one is the right one for my device?

Since you're s-off, pretty much any x.xx.401.xx RUU will flash just fine. You can even downgrade to KK and take updates to the last one
