what the f is with my device? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, on my htc one had I s-off and everything modded but I today revert it to stock locked bl, s-on etc. (Jelly Bean 1.28.401.7 Radio 4A.13.3231.27 HBoot 1.44). just because i wanted Rooted Stock with MultiROM. Maybe i was stupid when I updated from 4.1 (hboot 1.44) to android 4.2 (2.24.401.8 - hboot 1.54). I unlocked bootloader with HTCDev, I tried s-off with rumrunner. And there is a problem. I don't know for what reason, but rumrunner shows in cmd after 2nd reboot in bootloader "FATAL :F*CK IT ....... " i have in hboot tampered and unlocked. Then i tried firewater with temproot but also to no avail. So i flashed TWRP and installed supersu. And now my device when boot up just reboot. :crying:
Can someone help me?
Installed CM11 - firewater s-off --> SOLVED

make a clean install of a custom rom that is pre-rooted and with unsecured kernel, then try to s-off again.

[Q] How to go back to stock O2

Hello.
I have HTC One which had O2 customisations and I really wanted to get rid of them.
I unlocked bootloader on HTCdev site, installed custom recovery and flashed Android Revolution HD v30.
I couldn't get S-Off since I am on HBOOT 1.54
Now, since there is rumrunner for HBOOT 1.54, I want to install stock rom, change CID to Developer so I can have latest updates, but I didn't backup my stock firmware.
Is there any way to go stock, run rumrunner, change CID and update OTA?
HTC ONE
Android Revolution HD v30 (4.3)
Kernel 3.4.10-gd6f147e
Baseband 4A.17.3250.14_10.39.1150.04L
Build number 3.57.401.500
HBOOT 1.54.000
CID : O2___001
Thank you all in advance!

can you do fastboot getvar mainver for me please????
---------- Post added at 03:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:02 PM ----------
firstly you don't need a stock o2 rom (the unbranded one will do) it is dependant on your firmware. so:
firstly do fastboot getvar mainvar
if you get 2.24.206.7 as a result (i did)
flash the stock rom in the link below
downlaod the FIXED 2.24.401.8 tool from the rumrunner website
disable antiviris and firewall on pc and make sure u meet all the prerequisites on the rumrunner website
Run the tool
hit thanks if s off
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23060877489999966
Everything worked as you said. Now I have superCID, installed developer ROM, S-Off (thanks to rumrunner).
Thank you!

Now when I have SuperCID and developer edition rom, S-Off, unlocked boot loader, will I receive OTA update from HTC?

I think you will need to restore to a CID thats getting the updates and you will also need to install stock recovery. Beautiful thing about s off is that u can set your CID to the one that first receives the update

[Q] Can´t get S-OFF

Hello
i have htc one m7_u hboot 1.44 s-on rooted, and software version 3.62.401.1
I tried rumrunner but i gives me an error related to adb. Then tried revone, but in terminal it says revone failed error 1
Any ideas? i want to flash 4.4.2 roms
thanks
You need to go back to install older 4.1 rom that is compatible with 1.44. Right now you have a mismatch between HBOOT and ROM version.

[Q] Ran RUU - Now have S-OFF w\Relocked Bootloader

Would appreciate some advice before I move forward ....
I was running ViperOne 4.2.0 happily, albeit on a very old firmware version.
However on trying to flash a current firmware it failed with "FAILED (status read failed (too many links))" which left me stuck with the silver HTC on a black screen with the 4 warning triangles in each corner.
I then downloaded and flashed this: "RUU M7 UL JB 50 HTC Europe 1.28.401.7 Radio 4A.13.3231.27 10.31.1131.05 Release 310878 Signed" which got me back up and running ......
However, my current bootloader info is:
*** RELOCKED ***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-OFF RH
CID-11111111
HBOOT-1.44.0000
RADIO-4A.13.3231.27
OpenDSP-v26.120.274.0202
eMMC-boot

What steps do I need to take to get back to root, with custom recovery, latest firmware and be able to flash ViperOne again?

So you've done an RUU , and it got stuck in the RUU screen?
Try "fastboot oem restart*
Then boot intro bootloader.
Download CMW/TWRP
then flash the recovery
Turn Adb-sideload on in recovery, use adb sideload to install ViperRom again.
Unlock using "revone -u"

No, the RUU finshed fine and it rebooted back into the stock ROM with stock recovery, however when I try to flash recovery (twrp 2.6.3.3) it fails with:
"FAILED (remote: not allowed)"
Is this due to the bootloader being "Relocked"? If so, any idea how to Unlock it again .... I used HTC Dev to initially unlock it way back when and rumrunners to get S-OFF
Thanks for the help!
You can do what nkk71 has suggested or unlock using htcdev by generating a new unlock key.

revone -u
has nothing to do with s-off, it's just unlocking using; eg: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914
He ran the RUU zip. that assumes that phone is not rooted anymore.
*you must be s off.
*you must have superuser installed(see this thread if you need help installing superuser. use the keep bootloader locked directions)

When you run an RUU, i assume your bootloader has been locked, so if RUU is succesfull, your bootloader is currently locked/relocked.
Go to the HTC dev email you´ve received with the Unlock_code.bin . but this in your folder with adb & fastboot. Go into fastboot mode, and execute : ¨fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin¨
If you havn´t got this email anymore, go to the htcdev website and request your unlock code again as you did unlocking.
Then install TWRP/CMW, flash youŕe preffered rom
EDIT: Just read the other posts, use revone as
nkk71 suggested. Otherwise read up on the revone thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582
As suggested, I used my original HTC Dev token to successfully unlock the bootloader from it's "Relocked" state.
Then I was able to flash TWRP and reflash ViperOne ... So I'm back to where I started from thankfully!
The only problem I'm having is getting the right PC drivers installed to connect the phone to transfer files ...... That's going to have to wait until tomorrow now as it's late here!
Thanks to everyone for the help and advice

If your ROM is rooted, run su in the shell before doing the revone commands.

Stock on hboot1.56 Security Warning!

Hello. I was on TMO 4.4.2 S-On unlocked bootloader. I wanted to downgrade to 4.3 so I downloaded the RUU for TMO. Then I re-locked bootloader and tried to run the RUU with no lock "ERROR 155". I searched for the KK RUU but isn't available. Now I'm stock at the bootloader with the "SYSTEM WARNING". Can someone please tell me how I can either get to downgrade with the 4.3 RUU or how to get my device up and running?
TIA
Unlock your bootloader again if you locked it, then use fastboot to flash a custom recovery like TWRP 2.7.0.0.
Once you have the recovery installed you can flash a ROM by either side loading it or use a handy USB OTG adapter and a flash drive. There are many guides available that cover all of this already online. Just curious, are you S-OFF?

1) Downgrade requires S-OFF. You cannot flash an RUU for a lower firmware if ur S-ON
2) Instead of going through the ugly RUU process (meaningless), you can just install a 4.3-based ROM. Unlock your bootloader. Flash TWRP 2.6.3.3 using fastboot. Then, adb sideload Android Revolution HD 31.6 (4.3) to ur phone and flash in TWRP.
At the end, ARHD rom is basically stock ROM with more tweaks. So, installing a ROM is better than the headache of an RUU
