I have a Lumia 520(RM-914 Indian version) with windows 8.1 developer preview. I wanted to install Lumia cyan upgrade so i used nokia software recovery tool to download the firmware version 3058.50000.1425.0001. The installation started and it showed an error at 1%. It showed an option to recover and i tried it but it couldn't. Now the phone is bricked and when connected to pc, it is shown as QHSUSB_DLOAD device.
In Nokia Care Suite PST it is shown as USB: Product in flash mode with Data package selection failed and product code reading failed error.
When I select Open Product, select the device and select data package, it tells me to hold Down+ Power button until it vibrates and then retry. When I try that there is no vibration just i could see that the usb disconnects and connects again.
Is there no way to recover it in my home using my pc and usb cable? My warranty has been void as I had replaced my broken screen earlier outside the Nokia Care.

it depends how it happened
a) you were flashing firmware, then do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2770684
b) it happened by itself (ie you weren't flashing things) -> hard brick, off to repair / get a new phone

Will only work if your phone went in QHSUSB mode after flashing something bad. If your phone went in this mode by itself, it will not work.

Thank you so much. I will try. As far as I know, the body left in the down after the update by air. There is no more information. The former owner does not know what is Ctrl + Alt + Del so, the option that there is poured something unnecessary disappears) Only an update on the air. Let's hope for the best)

Hi All,
I have a Windows 8.1 Prestigio 8500 DUO phone which this morning had an update to test windows 10 mobile. This was possible as I downloaded the windows developer app from the Windows store which i assume installed a profile to allow the phone to receive development software.
The update was going fine until I reached the Windows 10 Mobile boot loop issue. I cant post a link but if you google Windows Mobile 10 boot loop there is lots of people with issues
I want to factory restore the phone back to fresh 8.1 but cannot find a way to get it to be detected by the Windows Phone Recovery Tool software.
I have tried hold Volume up + Down + Power until it reboots then after this I hold Volume up + down and I get the Lightning logo with the cog, this I believe is called Flash mode. IN this mode the computer pick it up in device manager with label WinUsb Device with hardware ID: USB\VID_045E&PID_062A&REV_0000. In this state the phone just stays in the lightning logo screen but still will not be detected by Windows Phone Receroveyr Tool or the Nokia Recovery suite.
Any help would be very greatly received.
Thanks
Chris

If you're in Windows, go to device manager and search how the device is detected. If it's detected as unknown device maybe you will have to install some drivers.
