[Q] ViperOne 6.2.1 Questions - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I just flashed this ROM and the phone works. I have all my apps and contacts, etc. However, besides it showing in the Software Information section of the About page, there is absolutely no indication of the ROM being installed. My home screen is black and I lost my top status bar normally showing the signal, time, battery life, etc. Any ideas?

Did you "Remove Sense" and select to install Google Now Launcher in the Viper installer? Because that was giving me issues similar to yours. Try doing another clean install and this time either do not remove Sense, or if you decide to remove sense select Nova Launcher instead.

Oops
Turns out I was only flashing the update. After reading more into it I realized the ROM was 1.3g and flashed it, then the update.

Battery Life
So, my phone has been unplugged for about 2 hours. It was barely used and just about all apps are closed. My battery is down to 88%. How can I improve the battery life? Is there any kind of "tweek" available?

HELP! Statusbar changed into white Icons
I need help! I didn't know where to post it, so I try it here..
My "Circle Batterie" in ViperOne 6.2.0 which normally changes the colours (100-75% = blue; 74-50% = green ...) is suddenly white.
And the Icons like the alarm clock, bluetooth... is white too even though I set purple as the colour of these.
Thank You for answer.

[Q] How to get rid of second battery icon?

Hey all... I just finished flashing speedmod with darky's rom 9.2 extreme and noticed what appears to be 2 battery icons. If I tap the left one it displays the date then goes back to the battery icon.
What is the purpose of that and how do I remove it?
Also I don't seem to see the samsung email social hub. Is it no longer in production? It worked nice for push emails.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, you get rid of the left hand side icon just first pulling down tho notification slider and then just press the row that displays the unplugged since.... Then menu -button --> close --> yes.
Same can be done by opening the circular battery app from your apps and pressing menu -button --> close --> yes.
Got it! Thanks.
Another question regarding this, the battery icon on the left seems to be the one that changes color whereas the one on the right is always green/grey.
Is it possible to remove the one on the right and keep the one on the left?
Or to make the one on the right change colors as the battery changes?
Thanks in advance
It is not possible to remove the right battery icon. At least i do not know. You can simply uninstall the app circle battery indicator to delete the left one.
If you think the right one is ugly or must be same with the left one , you can install the configurator and check the option "circle battery icon". So now after the reflash you will be surprised.

Yes you can change the status bar icons, easiest way is to use rom toolbox, or you can use so something like ninjamorph, or get down and dirty and use apk tool to decompile and change them manually.
And the Google search is a feature for adw launcher, you can remove it in the settings

you mean the quick toggles. Yes you can, but it has to be done the hard way, by decompiling the apk, i'm not even sure if it's systemUI.apk or framework-res.apk. Ask in the official thread and maybe the OP can tell you

that's weird. currently i have 49% at 20 hours with 2+ hours of screen on time and wifi on all that time(connected to a network the whole time, no scanning)
While that's really good, i have been at home most of that time and not using it too much. But i normally use about 2 hours screen, 2-6 hours of music and it is just about dying at bedtime, so i get 12 hours normally. What's top of your battery stats? did you wipe data and cache when installing and have you done a full drain and recharge since flashing

Firstly I would thanks you for your great job. Anyway i have two issues regarding your ROM :
- Could you please indicate how I can disable the backgound data? It seems that they are still to run (in bleu), and then, use some battery ?
- It could possible to let the old task manager from motorola for a next release or following a patch?
Thanks in advance for your support and your understanding for a new user

I can answer this one. When you pull down the notification bar, there are a set of toggle controls at the top. If you swipe the controls from right to left, the toggle that is second from the right (two arrows that are parallel, one pointing up, one pointing down) is a data toggle. Tap that once to turn data off.

Thanks for your help, nevertheless i meant about the syncro of data, running in backgroung, when the 3G icone and signal came in blue. I tried to tap on and off the syncro button in toggle, whitout effect.
Do you have another advice? This issue happened only for me?
Thanks for your support

On a blank area of a homescreen that is 4 columns wide add the widget "power control widget". The fourth widget - a circle that contains two arrows pointing at each other's tails - is the data synchronization toggle. This will keep data on but stop accounts from syncing in the background.

Thanks again for your help. In fact I have already tried tu put on and off this toggle bouton without result.
My problem here, that is the background data are still working. To explain my issue, the wireless/3G items and signal are colored in blue in notification bar, that is mean the background data is on, so, use much battery.
This option could been put on and off following this manipulation Menu > Settings > Battery data manager > Delivery > Background data.
Then, how can I disable the background data as this settings had been deleted in the ROM?
Hopping been more clear.

Not all icon sets have coloured and uncoloured icons. The 3g icons I use are always blue. Can someone confirm that the icons used in this rom support this?

Another comment : as instance, when you go to the play store application, you haven't to put on the background data...you come automaticly into the market, indicating the background data work without limitation.
Thanks for your help

Battery status across top of screen

There is a bar that when my battery is low it shows up red, full it shows up white, and when its charging it shows up green and scrolls. I think it was some setting i messed up, but I changed the launcher and that didn't fix it so I guess its a system setting. Anyone have any ideas? I'm running cm10 if that helps.

Don't believe that is one of the options in CM. Do you have any third party apps installed that could make changes to status bar? I think that kind of change can be made in PAC rom, are you running that?
Or you have the miui battery bar from the market installed

I think Rign is right, with PAC you can use ROM Control, under Status Bar, Battery. There is an option for Battery Bar. Perhaps you enabled this?
Edit - Sorry, esloan was probably right about running PAC with ROM control.
I feel dumb
It was indeed a 3rd party app, i installed it by mistake via my computer and it installed on my next boot. Thanks guys.

[Q] Blank icon on Paranoid Android notification bar

Hello guys,
I'm using Paranoid Android v2.21 on my Ace. It has a few bugs, but it's okay in almost every aspect.
My problem is, that after some layout changes (tried out tablet, then phablet then changed back to stock phone UI) I'm having a weird issue. When I turn on or reboot the phone I get a blank icon on the right side of the notification bar just between the wifi signal strength icon and the vibrating (silent) phone icon. I was wondering what it could possibly be and finally found out that when I open my stock clock app and turn on and then off one of the alarms it disappears. Turning the alarm on makes the blank icon reappear. At start it's always there even though my alarms are off. I'm not sure if thats an app or rom issue since the clock is a system app.
Any ideas? Maybe try to overwrite the clock app with one from another source?

Remove stock battery icon?

Are there any marshmallow roms out yet that have the ability to remove the stock battery icon so you can use the 3minit battery mod without having the stock battery icon show as well?
Thanks
You can do it on stock, so likely all roms can?
Bring down notifications so that the settings gear is shown, and long press until you see a notification that system ui tuner is enabled, then look for it below about phone.

I did it real quick to ADD the %, and remembered there being battery option and being able to remove most everything from status bar.... Apparently everything but battery. Sorry, no help.
