[Q] CyanogenMod 11 April 24th ROM Ear Piece Volume - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

I can't post this in the CyanogenMod 11 thread since this is my first post but I'd like to know if anyone else has issues with the ear piece volume for the latest build. My volume is at max and I can barely hear anything. I never had this problem before rooting. If anything it was too loud. I've read a ton of post about call volume issues but none of the provided solutions fixed the problem.
Anyone else having the same issue?

I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned before in the CM11 thread. Earpiece volumes are not quite up to snuff yet, and (to the best of my knowledge) there usually was no fix found.

In Call Volume Settings will not change, please help!

im new to the rooting G1 thing, i have mno volume control while in calls and its REALLY annoying and also quite loud. im running cyanogenmod 4.2.9.1 and hadnt noticed this problem until today.
please, if anyone can help id REALLY appreciate it
EDIT: it seems like the volume goes from loud (when turned all the way "down") to louder (all the way "up") and theres a nearly unnoticeable difference in volume

I have experienced the same problem on the same ROM but never thought it was that big of an issue to start my own thread. But since you started on, I guess I will jump on the bandwagon. Sometimes the volume control problem is sporadic and it will work, but I havent really noticed when the times are that the volume works (like after a reboot). I'll try to take notice, also, I'm not sure a logcat would help otherwise I would provide it on the CM thread. Anybody want to weigh in on this and see if its worth raising the issue on the CM thread? If I can't produce a logcat then I doubt Cyanogen will be able to reproduce the problem and therefore will not be able to address the situation.
BTW, I also have Meltus's latest AudioHack. I figured I'd mention it since it has to do with the volume.
Hamtoast, do you have the AudioHack?
i dont have the audiohack, though i thought about getting it after i noticed this problem. i wasnt sure if itd help though and didnt want to shell out the $2 or however much it costs. my volume is otherwise fine and i have no other issues with it (like being too quiet, which is why most people get the audiohack to my understanding).
this issue we are experiencing is of course not of major importance and doesnt interfere with use, but personally i adjust volume regularly while on the phone, depending on my location and who im talking to. its rather inconvenient not being able to do it.
Okay, so the whole slight volume change was false, there is absolutely zero difference in volume during calls. I read somewhere that it could be an issue with the radio. i was planning on getting the newest radio and danger spl soon so as soon as i get a new sd card ill be testing that to see if the radio is the issue. i will also be trying a hero rom so if CM is the problem i will find that out.
I have a similar problem where my phone is one step from maximum volume (in call) it will not go up to max unless I press volume down them go up. I do not have the audio hack fyi. I guess it may be worth bringing up for cyano to prehaps work on because we r all running his rom with and without audio hack and having problems with volume. I am sure that others are havimg similar problems aswell.
I have the exact same problem. I am going to have to go to a different ROM because of this my phone is new and talking to most people is ear splitting.
i guess ill bring it up in a cyano forum or send a message or something. it certainly is annoying, and it does seem to be related to the ROM.
i dunno if you all are having this issue or if youve noticed or not but it could be related... anyway, if im using headphones and get a text or email or phonecall (anything requiring some sort of notification) i lose all sound to my phone until i reboot it. i checked the builds and it said he addressed some headset issue in 4.2.9.1 but it seems to be there still. just wonderin if anyone noticed that.
ill be looking into cyano forums and trying to find a fix.
@HamToast,
I have mostly noticed just general sound loss. Not anything really related to the headset. Notifications will drop out, phone won't ring sometimes, volume control problems etc. For example, right now, no matter how much I adjust the volume, the sound coming from the screen clicks are always the same volume.
Also, I have the latest radio and the Danger SPL so I'm not sure if that has any bearing on the sound issue. My signature is up to date with the exception of running both the latest CM build as well as the latest Amon_RA recovery image.
aw you have the latest radio and danger spl? im running older radio/spl and was hoping an upgrade would help
i wonder what the issue is with this sound buginess... i went to the newest CM 4.2.10.1 and it was so slow with a considerable amount of hangtime in certain apps, so i went back to 4.2.9.1. the sound issues werent fixed in x.10 or x.10.1

[Q] Weird volume bug

Hey guys,
I would've posted this issue in the ARHD thread but since the XDA forums' software considers my 2½ year membership as 'not qualified' due to my lack of post-count (I've only submitted three posts so far), I am unfortunately not allowed to give a reply in that respective thread. So I need to explain it to you here.
So I just noticed that after flashing the very new ARHD version 9.3 my media volume bar is a bit glitchy. Now on the lowest volume setting before silence, sounds are so quiet, they're almost not hearable, no matter which App I listen to (e.g. stock Music Player, YouTube, any game). Then, one step louder is about ten times as loud as the lowest setting, which still is not very loud but noticeably louder. Now the weirdest part of all this is that then the next volume step up is quieter than the one before. I would say it's half the volume now. As I'm increasing the volume from there on the sound gets louder bit by bit as it's intended to be. I think the problematic second volume step is about as loud as the fith or sixth.
I cannot guarantee that this is really caused by the new ARHD update but since I updated yesterday, this was when I first noticed this issue.
I'm now looking forward to the next ROM's update as they come in very frequently and quick (thanks to the dev, your ROM is great!) and hope it solves the issue.
Otherwise any help or confirmation of anyone who is having the same problem is greatly appreciated.
Alright, so after a little session of trial & error I figured out that this issue seemed to be caused by the PureXAudio mod.
I reflashed ARHD without installing the PXA mod and now the bug is gone.

Microphone Issue, Cannot hear me or Muffled

Hello guys, I have recently purchased HTC one, and flashed Cyanogenmod 10.1 and teamseven AOSP kernel on it. I noticed there is issue with microphone during calls. Distand end cannot hear me or it sounds extremely low/muffled, but when I put it on speaker phone, issue goes away. Also after few min it sometimes randomly decides to work. I have tried to flash Android Revolution 22.1 (4.3) to see if the issue will go away, but it is still persisting. I would appreciate any help I can get, thank you
Just a quick update, I did more research on this issue and it seems like a common issue with newer HTC One models. Noise Cancellation seems to be the problem, since talking to the phone at certain angle seems to might the issue go away. I even tried restoring my phone to the stock, and even tried the disable noise cancellation fix that is around in the forums, but it did not make the issue go away completely. This is my second HTC One in 3 days, first one had a nasty dead pixel, and now microphone issue. I will take it back to AT&T store and get it replaced again. I'm not sure what is going on with the quality of the phone on newer models, since I've had the Developer's Edition and AT&T model on launch day and both were perfectly fine. Is anyone here having the same issue and found a fix for it?
Another quick update, I seem to have fixed the issue by SCREAMING into the bottom microphone hole during call for a minute to see if I can fix the volume, and it might be hard to believe but issue has gone away. I read this in another thread about the microphone issue, someone posted by screaming into the hole, you are adjusting the volume gain and fixing the issue. I recommend trying it if you are having the same problem, since I've literally tried everything else and this fixed it for me.
I have similar issue. For more I noticed random disconnections during call.
it worked !!!
It worked....

your speaker works where you can hear the call but if you talk into it the person on the other end cannot hear you.
It has been broken in AOSP for quite some time now. CM 10.2 STABLE has the same issue.
The only working rom with speakerphone is GPE/sense based ones.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app

[Q] How to increase speaker volume in cm11 xperia sp

I have install cm11 from "http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=huashan( cm-11-20140824-NIGHTLY-huashan.zip )" Overall rom works fine but the only issue i am facing is low speaker volume, volume has decrease almost 50% from stock rom or any other rom. Searched a lot but did not find any help, anyone else has face this issue and come with a solution. Help me regarding this issue.
Your exact same question has been asked several times. I can't image you searched allot...
Even a Google search gives you the answer straight away: https://www.google.com/webhp?source...&ie=UTF-8#q=xperia+sp+low+volume+cm11&spell=1

Download the latest CM11 release.
You're most likely still on an old version which had an experimental fix for the rear mic bug.
This is what's causing the echo. For now the rear mic has been disabled. (Only needed for filming videos, so not a big deal for most people)

Then use the fix I have already presented in numerous other threads... Install Williams kernel for CM (v3.0 was the most stable one) and use Fauxsound to boost your volume. IT WORKS.

In-call Volume Issue

Hi guys, just got my Nexus 6 last night and was annoyed to discover the low volume during phone calls.
I headed over to the Google Issue Tracker forums and voted for the issue but it seems like only 101 people have voted for this.
I realize this issue has been brought up before, but I was just wondering, is Google working on this issue? Is there anyway to know what they are actually working on/updating now?
Same issue here. Earpiece volume too low.
Just add an URL to your post and there will be more votes.
