Hello,
I dropped my HTC One to a hard floor today, from height of less than 50cm (20").
The screen was on before the fall, battery was >90%, everything was working. After the fall, the screen was off, led off, nothing happening from any buttons.
I have tried long-pressing powerbutton, powerbutton+volume, no effect.
I have tried charging, no effect. Even the charging led doesnt work.
I also tried powering it on under bright light (?), no effect.
I had my bootloader unlocked, CWM recovery and Android Revolution HD rom installed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023)
The phone had Nillkin protective case (http://mobilemate.yetaa.com/htcdopod/nillkin-htc-one-m7-hard-protective-case.html). I can see no physical damage on the phone, not even a smallest scratch..
Any ideas, what can I try to get it working, before sending it for repair? (Let's hope it goes for warranty. I really don't think it should die for such a small impact..) All ideas welcome!
*EDIT* My phone was working for a second, but broke again. In repair now.
If you connect this to pc, and you press Power, pc can recognize it?

Hey! I just put it in a charger again, and after a minute I suddenly noticed that the charging led light up! I tried pressing the power button, and it booted to bootloader!
I then went to fastboot -> Reboot, to get it to boot normally..
There was a sudden flash of the HTC logo (boot logo). Lasted less than half a second, then it died again.
Now it seems completely dead again..

Shouldn't be. I had it >90% when It first went dead..
Now it's on charger and doesn't show the charging light.
It also was on the charger the whole time, when I last got it to bootloader and when it died again.

Hi, and thanks for your answer.
Tried both USB3 and USB2 ports. Can't get the phone to boot to bootloader. Nothing happens - no led, no vibration, nothing on the screen.

I'm having exact same problems except I did not even drop my phone, the screen and phone went dead as I was using it. I've been charging it for hours, no response from any lights or anything. I have tried pushing the buttons to force a reset to no avail. When I plug it into my computer it does not recognize it or even acknowledge that it's there.
Hey, my phone works again!
For the millionth time, I tried to start up my phone. No reaction.
Then I connected it to the charger, and the charging light came up.
I then pressed the power button... And it started! Now it works 100% normally, I have shut it down and rebooted and shaked and tilted and knocked it and removed charger and everything, it just keeps working 100% normally! And the battery was at 99% when I got it started.
I don't think the initial cause could be something (battery?) connected loosely, as it just started working all of sudden, and I cannot easily reproduce the error!?
Well, I'm glad it works now. And I'm glad I chose HTC One over GS4.. Self-repairing cellphones in 2013... What next?
Good, i'm happy that your one works fine!!
Enjoy with this!!

root and unbranding does not break warranty.
Flashing does need you to have some power in the battery. If you get a red LED when its connected to the PC then it is charging. Plug it in and leave it for a LONG time. Normally I say 24 hours on a wall charger but on a PC I suggest 48. In that time DO NOT TOUCH IT. Try to turn it on after 48 hours.

But i have a similar problem to the stated one. After flashing the new leaked 4.3 Rom from DoomLord my phone ran just fine for nearly a week. Yesterday i inserted a new sd card and wanted to format it in recovery. But then after formating sdcard1 my phone totally freezed. However i rebooted it from recovery. No led when i plug in. I tried every combination of buttons presses (also volume up + power button which does normaly the trick). I even opened the phone and unplugged battery for 2-3 min, still nothing. Do you guys have any idea what i else can do, or is my phone simply broken?

charage the phone for 24 hrs or overnight and try flashing the stock rom via flashtool. if it did not work with vol down button+power try this method 2
try to do a hard reset; (while NOT connected via usb or something) hold power+vol up, it will vibrate 1 time, and then 3 times quick. After that try to connect the usb (NOT while pressing any buttons) and press vol down+power
That should connect it into flashmode.

Unfortunately this didn't work. However after letting the phone charging for a while i got a red LED. Which disappears every 5 min and comes again after another 5. When i disconnect phone from charger and connect to my notebook nothing happens. I mean I press vol down + power there is nothing the phone doesn't react. If i try i hard reset. The red LED is blinking and the phone doesn't vibrate .

Ok, I disassembled the phone again. I removed battery and measured voltage seems to be fine. Besides battery life was OK when it worked (OK compared to my SXplay ). Additionally i tried the battery trick from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449242. However the bahavior on charger is still the same 5min red LED 5min no LED at all. Excluding it is a driver problem I ran flashtool on my linux machine and tested both the windows and linux flash tool with my xperia Play which is correctly detected in flash mode.
Thanks guys for your hints upon now but I would be happy to get additonal ones. I'm not afraid of disassembling and getting my hands dirty.
I hope I will get this great phone running again since I've really started to love it :-/.
Same situation with CM 10.2
Hi there I'm in the same situation with my xperia V.
Bootlocker unlock and flashed 10.2.0 (latest stable rel) and gapp. No issue everything was working but huge battery drain due to Media Scanner, so I've reboot in recovery wipe the cache and format the external sd then reboot all from the recovery menu.....then the phone is dead.
now in change since more that 30 hours and get red light for some minutes that nothing at all....nothing pushing power, nothing pushing volume nothing at all.....if i connect without battery to the power red light blinks.
how is that possible???? at least recovery node should work...is that an HW problem? but how can i have created an HW problem with a wipe a format and a reboot????
Please help...
Thanks in advance.

Ok i attached a picture. The measured voltage is 3.07 V between kathode and anode marked in red (of course I measured it when the battery was disconnected. Moreover you see the soldered connection to the back of the battery marked in green. I've already tried what I red in another post in this forum, where the guys there suggest to unplugg the battery and try to connect the phone in flash mode. This results in a blinking red LED :-/. No idea what else I can do

hello guys I have a solution to this problem.and I guess you guys are lucky cause I experienced this problem also.you don't need to panic cause this will help.all you need to do is to get a new battery either online or in your domestic regions.if you wish to get it online go to aliexpress.com And it will be shipped to you no matter where you are on this earth.the reason is because the xperia t has been drained to the core and so it can't come on in other to flash in a kernel or image. When you've bought the battery you can actually fix it by yourself cause I'll Show you how.when you've fixed it then you flash in 4.3jb stock room in it and then your phone comes back alive like mine.IV actually used the phone for a month before that problem occurred but now say no more to that cause this thread will work 100%

Do the Home and Back buttons blink when you hold the power button down? Also, when doing the bright light trick, make sure you're not blocking the ambient light sensor (two holes in upper left corner) with your finger.

Maybe let it charge overnight. My phone has done that occasionally when I've run it all the way down, but a hard reset always brought it back.
The "trick" is really an interlock to prevent you from restarting your phone in your pocket or a purse. If something presses against the power button but it's dark, the phone won't respond.

It usually means a low battery. It sounds as if yours isn't taking a charge. Keep trying to power it on, but if it won't go, there may be a hardware fault. It does happen.

Power the One off. Charge for 10 minutes using the wall charger. Then simultaneously press the volume up - volume down - and power button for 2 minutes. Then power the phone up normally. Battery should theoretically be reset.

If you run the battery completely down it will charge very slow for a period of time until it get a certain amount of charge. Hence the orange blicking light. its taking a charge, albeit very slowly.. just leave it plugged in to the wall charger. it may take quite a while. but try resetting the battery first
