Xperia Z2 bootanim.mp3 - Xperia Z2 Themes and Apps

Hello,
iam new here because i have a question related to the Bootanim.zip. i rooted my Z2 and changed the bootanim.mp3, the complete zipfile and i even tried to unzip the mp3, edit it with wavelab and repacked it into the zip. i even changed the access permissions but the sound doesnt play at startup. what am i doing wrong?

Did you activate the boot sound in the sound options?
Gesendet von meinem D6503 mit Tapatalk

sry for the late response, ofcourse the boot sound is enabled.
The original bootsound works if i backup it, but as soon i put my custom mp3 in the zip file it doesnt work anymore. The original file and my custom file have the same audioproperties (except from the bitrate wich is at 128kbit/s in my custom and at 160kbit/s in the original file).
btw. the docking sound doesnt work either, it is playable when i extract it from the phone but it doesnt work/play while docking/undocking (docking sound is the original file). I now checked again every possible setting in the phone but there is no option to de-/activate the docking sound.

When you put a file to the bootanimation.zip, you should never forget setting the "compression method"option to "store" since the default option is"normal",and that should be the main problem causing your phone remaining silence at boot。Also, don`t forget to change the file permissions.
Check the pic below.(winrar, for example)

Hi,
Rom Version: RomAur v3.1
I've tried everything, but the audio doesn't start
Tried .ogg, .mp3. Renamed in bootanim.mp3/ogg. Edited desc file, added "s" string.
I've tried also putting audio file in these folders:
1) system/media
2) system/media/UI
Any idea???
Thank you.

Try to extract an origninal bootanimation.zip file from the official firmware, then replace the music file ONLY,beware the "compress method"I mentioned above.
1) system/media
2) system/media/UI
those stuff won`t necessary

160kbps is not needed, my 128kbps works great now. i just changed the compression method in WinRar to normal.
well that was a late response but better late than never, thank you anyways

ok it doenst work "great", the volume level is very low (cant even hear it if e.g. tv runs) any idea how to increase the bootanim.mp3 volume?
btw. if iam playing the file with the walkmann app everything is fine.

[RES] SHUTDOWN ANIMATION (downanimation.zip) for SENSE based rom

Many of us tried to replace "downanimation.zip" which reside in (/system/customize/resource/) but ended with blank screen no matter how u pack the zip.
After countless try & error, here is the solution. The structure & format is remain the same as "bootanimation.zip" which will works if packed without compression (store compression level).
The only different is the way we zip as shown below.
# Running Linux :
* The correct zip command (im using latest Ubuntu on VirtualBox) is zip -0rD downanimation.zip <image folder> + desc.txt

# Running Windows :
* Windows using WinRAR :
1-Create zip like this
2- recreate the zip file but this time ignore file parameters in 2nd scrnshot.
3- open using winrar & delete all image files outside folder.
Thanks.
My modded one. This is not flashable zip. Must use ADB/QtADB to copy to device manually.

How about using windows? and winrar maybe?

As a total noob, I'd be incredibly grateful if someone could post a step-by-step for me. Would make my phone finally completely customized.

You have to find where the bootanimation.zip is already on your phone. I would suggest using Root Explorer or ES with root permissions. The reason I say to search for it is because mine was in a place where I hadnt seen mentioned before.
Anyway, once you have found bootanimation.zip you just replace it with the new one. You put the android_audio.mp3 in the same folder as the bootanimation.zip.
how do i install this original HTC BOOT ANMIATION and SOUND?

No you have to go to the folder system/customize/ and open the file CID default.xml in an editor. Find the line :
<BootAnimation animation="/data/local/bootanimation.zip"/>
in the file and change it to
<BootAnimation audio="/data/local/android_audio.mp3" animation="/data/local/bootanimation.zip"/>
this will fix the problem

I've tried on my DHD with virtuous quattro beta 8, but it won't work, I get a black screen during bootanim...
Can someone help me? Thanks
Rename the zip to bootanimation.zip, this should work. It's not flashable btw, it has to be copy pasted (in AOSP the location is system/media I think..).
Thanks for the reply, but this what I've already done.
Rename to bootanimation.zip, put in system/media and replace the stock bootanim, change the permissions...
But still won't work...

Problem is, it says the zip file is empty, How do i remove the .zip extension as when renaming it only displays as Android_audio.mp3
ell, it says the zip is empty because it's not actually a zip file. That's mp3 file just called with .zip
You just need to erase ".zip" from its name and it will work

Are those files on your external SD card? Since KitKat, only system apps have full read/write access to the external storage.
Either use the provided File Commander, or root and modify the SD card permissions with an app like this, then any file manager will work again.

Or use File Commander if it's preinstalled in your rom. It's a system app, therefore has full read and write permissions for external storage.

Graphic designer and Android theme maker Brian Roberts took Christian’s animation and turned it into a boot animation, originally.
