Strange problem with my note

Hi
Im running rooted note with darky rom 3.3 and franco's test kernal with no probs up to about two days ago. Now for no reason I can see battery life has dropped drastically and some of my installed apps either do not open at all or some open then just fc. I haven"t installed any new apps in past several days. Checking batt stats it tells me the note is nearly constantly awake with with wifi awake aswell but shows no app or process including wakelocks running that can account for this. Has anyone have any idea what could be causing this and hopefuly a fix.
Thanks
Ingott

BetterBatteryStats or Badass Battery Monitor will help you pinpoint the app/process causing wakelocks and thus preventing your Note from going to sleep.
Have checked with betterbattstats and no app is running causing this problem. I have wifi set to on only when screen is on but wifi is constantly awake this is causlng batt drain I believe. Also my installed apps no longer work they fc and some dont even start. Since my last post I have reinstalled darky rom and franco kernal but still getting the same problems.

I have the same wifi problem !
I have rocket rom V23 and abyss kernel 4.2
BBS shows no wake lock and kernel wake lock but when the wifi is connected the phone wont go to sleep and its awake and drain battery !
if I turn off the wifi it will sleep and battery drain will decrease to 0.4-0.5 % per hour.
my wifi policy is set to sleep when screen is off but when i turn off screen the wifi is still awake and i can see it connected in my router lan page and also I can ping it too.
any one has any idea ?
I have found the 'sleep while screen is off' to be very poor. I now use Llama to turn the WiFi off 1 minute after the screen turns off (in case I forget something and go back), and turn it on when the screen comes on, but only if I am at the Home or Work locations. It now works exactly as I want.

thanks for your suggestion.
I just found Batteryfu very useful for NOW !!!
it has good options for wifi and mobile data, also has options for night mode, screen on, screen lock/unlock, while charging ,...
will test it for a day or 2 and will post my observations .
Thanks for all the replies..
I have found what works for me. I wiped kernal using jBroid then installed a different kernal to what I had installed rebooted a couple of times. I then wiped again using jBroid then re-installed my originall kernal again. This solved my problems. Suspect kernal got corrupted somehow then the wipe and overwrite sorted it out. Thanks to darky rom dev robbie hood for the heads up on this.

And my problem went away just by restarting my note.

[Q] Weid bug drian my battery

Hi i have a galaxy note gt-n7000 with GB 2.3.6
i have an odd bug that drain my battery almost the whole charge in about 10 hrs on stand by
i refer to usage battery and i found SO andoid at 70% with almost 7 hrs usage cpu. i read about this bug in other phone... but mine just "start" when my wify is ON...
so i upgrade to ICS the last relase and the bug still on..SO android still too high...i noticed that the wifi in the ICS comes with two arrows one orange from dowloading and other green for uploading and the orange arrow always still on...i dont have any background running to download data..i dont know why the wifi still alive and showing that arrow ligth on...
some times the orange arrow goes off but few seconds laters comes on againg ans still for a loong time...
this is just for the wifi...on my 3g connection no activity shows at all...
i donwloaded a wifi data counter and no data transfer at all too...
for example in 10 hours of "deep sleep" the wifi count like a 800kb but my battery drain so bad...i repeat only with wifi on...
any solution?

There is a known problem with some wifi routers draining the hell out of the battery on SGS2 and Note. What router are you using?

Any idea is normal that value? My battery dies So Much fast and So Androìd value its too high on battery usage...
Cpu spy please and reset stats after charged so you get the picture discharging.
With betterbattery stats do the same, with custom reference point from the moment you unhook.
Dont touch you phone for at least an hour or two then post both screenshots

today i have alomost 3 days of usage with moderate usage and 3g and wifi on...
hope still running like this... thank for your support

wifi sleep policy

strange thing..
if i set "keep wifi in sleep" to never it just stays on.
i got cpuspy to see if it really goes into deep sleep but the wifi just stays on.
i know i had this problem with customrom JB on my LG optimus black but now i have official JB on my XT and got the same problem here.
i need to install a app to control the wifi like i want it too..
(i always set wifi to disconnect when the phone enters deep sleep, my experience tels me that 2g data drains less battery then wifi)
however i didn't really test drain level of wifi/2g data on my XT.

[Q] WiFi cant be turned off on 🍭

Is this issue only on my device or its some sort of bug on ?
WiFi in settings is completley turned off, scanning always available is turned off, keep awake is set to never, gps is set to use only gps to determine positions..so every options of wifi is turned off, but still in battery paragraph show that wifi is almost always turned on (see picture) even when device is turned off in baterry paragraph u can see that wifi is turned on
Here is screenshoot
Solved by going back to 4.4.4 kk,
Sony definitely need to fix LP, to many bugs compared to kk.
battery life is terrible, slow charging time, wifi has some problem, force closing apps (probably google fault ), sound is worse, strange wakelock,..
Of course this is my opinion of Lollipo- and i tried clean install, withouth root, with root...and every time same for me.. so il be waiting for fixed version of lollipop by Sony, maybe 5.1

[Q]Heavy battery drain when on WiFi

Hello everyone, there are many, many threads for our phone, so it is basically impossible to properly search and see if this question has been asked before and so here it goes.
I've tried many roms for my device (I call it Sir Hangsalot), and I have noticed that on almost every rom there is a huge issue for my device to keep itself in a deep sleep state when the WiFi is on. The ratio is approximately 70/30% awake vs. deep sleep (I am talking when the screen is off and the phone is not being used). Then I have tested with the WiFi off (mobile data still on, it is always on since I have an unlimited data plan) and the phone enters deep sleep as usual, but this time it stays in deep sleep and battery is discharging properly. From the moment I switch on the WiFi the same behaviour emerges again. This is the last night's situation. New battery (1 month old, 1700 mAh), fully charged at 1 AM, at 7 AM 54% left with the WiFi on. The night before, same conditions, WiFi off and mobile data on, at 7 AM 91% left.
So, my question is: what the hell is wrong with our WiFi which is causing this huge battery drain and is there a fix (rom, kernel, module, script, anything)?
Regards.

Sorry for late reply.
Go to Settings > Wifi > Advanced settings and uncheck the box "Network notification" ( Notify me when an open network is available) in wifi settings, also uncheck "Scanning always available" .
Use Greenify app to freeze apps ( apps frozen will stay closed until you open them again).
These should reduce battery draining.
Thanks for the reply. I always turn off those things in wifi advanced settings, and regarding greenify I am not sure that it will help since I have this issue in every rom, even in a barebone rom without installing any app or gapps. I thought that maybe google play services could be the culprit here, but even without gapps I have a severe battery drain when wifi is on. When using mobile data everything is just fine. I really cannot find an answer for this.

Stock jb bloated should also drain much battery when there is a network connection.
I don't have more ideas... But why you keep wifi on overnight? Do you have facebook app/ what'sapp / viber / etc. ? These drain battery alot, that's why you need to greenify them.
And why you use wifi since you have unlimited data plan?
To be honest, my battery drain too when i have wifi on, but not so much. In this evening, i will put my wifi on and i will let you know how much battery i have left tomorrow.
It will be interesting to see your results, thanks. I do indeed have WhatsApp installed (after setting up my device completely) but the behaviour is the same regardless, even after fresh install and no other than the core system apps (stock, cm 10, 11, 12, aosp, carbon, vanir, LS, tried them all). Regarding leaving wifi on all the time it is the matter of habit. Since I've been using an android phone from the start (from cupcake on Huawei U8220 to lollipop on a few devices) and I have never had this kind of problem. Oh, well, I will try to keep it off and turn it on only when I need faster internet speed (my data plan is unlimited but it does not have download speed as my wifi).
Cheers!
