So just noticed that when travelling, that the Neo time display is still showing home (in my case EST) time, yet phone (Note II) correctly shows local time.
Anyone else seen this behavior, and how do I make my new fancy watch tell the correct LOCAL time?
Thanks,
A

Under location settings in the phone, do you have wireless and/or gps enabled?
Yes. All enabled. Phone time is good. Neo time is bad.
EDIT: Discovered that by changing the clock setting in Gear Manager it will correctly show the time on Neo. However, that's not the point of having network time set on my phone (and Neo...)
Anyone know if this is a known bug? Fix?
I had same bug with my Gear 2. - I corrected it by playing a little with time zones, changing my device to Nairobi time zone
It helped

I've applied the "Fake" server trick to activesync, I have email set for manual update. I'm finding active sync running almost anytime that I check task manager. I kill it, but something keeps invoking it. Does anyone have some pointers on figuring out who's calling up active sync or ways to hold it off?
EDIT - It can be stopped, see below, it's time zones!
I also tried the fake setup and I'm also getting ActiveSync coming back on.
One application that does call ActiveSync (for me anyway) is iGO GPS software. Haven't seen any other app. yet and no ActiveSync in the background for me.
On the other hand, i have (real) exchange server set on manually. I just have to remember to close ActiveSync after syncs.
After weeks of using my Kaiser and battling Active Sync, which would be running almost any time I checked task manager, I think I found my culprit!
There have been a few comments about the time mysteriously changing time zones and the clock being wrong. I had not seen this until a few days ago when suddenly and intermittently my phone would jump 1 hour ahead. I'm on the Pacific coast and it was jumping to mountain time.
Anyhow, I went into Start>Settings>Phone>Time Zones Tab and Un-Checked the "Auto change time zone and clock" box. No more time issues and oddly, no more over agressive active sync. I closed it yesterday and it's still off today, first time ever, even after a soft reset which always completed with active sync running.
I've had ActiveSync almost 'permanently' running and I too have tried the fake server trick. Trouble is i'm abroad on holiday and i'm sure it's connecting to the phone network to sync by it's self. This is going to cost me a small fortune in over-seas charges or is there a reason why my gprs should be counting up by it's own (with all the obvious possibilities taken care of)?
Activesync kills my kaiser... if i put the kaiser into the wall with the power adapter its fine. But if i leave it hooked up to the PC Active sync always loads and it seems like it sync's every few minutes. After about 3-4 hours the today screen will freeze eventually. Anyone have any fixes or a way to only launch active sync manually? I just turned off the sync time zones so maybe that was the culprit.

Man, that was really aggravating me. Thank you so much.
You can also fix it by disabling the notification replog.exe NOTIFICATION_EVENT_TIME_CHANGE.

RemE will this effect me when I travel...I live in the Central Time Zone if travel west will doing this not change the clock to Pacific Time...if so, then there has got to be another culprit causing these time changes because when i look the notifications in MemMaid there are a ton of time changes, time zone changes....there is a bug somewhere that we have to find....
Yes, you'll just have to change the zone as you go, Start>Settings>Clock & Alarms "time" tab and set zone. If you go back and forth, set the visiting zone so that you can easily jump back and forth. Not much hasstle considering what it did before.

DotFreds Task manager will show you the notifications and do a whole lot more. It's free and you can get it here - http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=1612
From the name of the notification I would say that it does exactly the same thing as unchecking the timezone thing, just doing it the hard way. I've known about doing it this way though for a lot longer cuz I used to do it on my wizard that way.
I tried searching, honest.
A couple of times a week I would wake up and notice that the Diamond screen is on and of course the power level is low. Something is waking up the device in the middle of the night. Any ideas what it may be?
As far as I know I have no scheduled tasks:
- I don't even have email set up
- ActiveSync is completely manual
- I have klaxxon installed but no alarms set up
- no other alarms
- no scheduled backups
Is there a program that logs events on the PPC so I can see what causes it to wake up?
Hmm
Well maybe it needs to go to the bathroom or sumting?
Did you check if ur Broadcast channels or not on maybe? Under Phone/ Settings/More If its on it will happen if it switches to another reception tower
I have noticed this once or twice on both my Diamond and the girlfriend's Ignito, once I just happend to notice both screens come on at the same time and it was dead on midnight!! I couldn't explain it and to my knowledge it hasn't happened again on my Diamond but the ignito seems to do it once a blue moon!!
Rich
I shall stay up and watch it at midnight to see what happens.
Has anyone used acbtaskman? I read that it has logging capabilities which may shed some light on this.

nice pun there
when got incoming sms, diamond will wake up.
Maybe u had enable this feature.
maybe he wants some milk
i think if your phone loses signal and regains it, the screen will turn on. IF that's the case...why doesn't it turn off? So it might not be that... :/
if not SMS and not task something, maybe phone call by lovely girl every night when she thinking about u, and she close the call fast..
Hey All, I've have recently flashed Touch-it V4 to my Xperia, but now the clock keeps on randomly changing the time on me. Usually puts it out by an hour, or sometimes 15mins. I've tried putting day light savings time on, selecting my city etc but still randomly changes the time on me.
Also noticed if I set my country, it will randomly change itself as well. Eg. set it to New Zealand, then go back and check and it will be on Fiji??
Anyone know how to fix this?
Is super annoying as messes up my alarms & appointments, nearly missed my flight the other day.
Cheers
Same problem here. Seems to be a TF3D bug. It doesn't seem to recognize daylight savings time. It keeps switching me to the "Bogota, Lima" timezone which is 1 hour behind my real timezone of Eastern Standard (US).
I'll have to use a different panel for now to keep my schedule/alarm on time, probably the SPB Mobile Shell.
Alternatively I could just use "Bogota, Lima" time and set it 1 hour ahead, but then every time I sync the phone, the time will be reset to 1 hour behind and throw my calendars off.
Yea is a right pain, fiddled round with it so much but still can't get it to work
uGo check your iGo?
I had that problem and found it was iGo set to an incorrect time zone, so each time I started the program it changed the time.

I have a htc diamond, but should be similar/same as they both WM

try ticking the check mark...it worked for mee and then soft reset
I'm fairly certain it's a TF3D bug and whether or not that option is ticked won't make a difference. If you live in a time zone where they observe daylight savings, touching the time on the TF3D home tab will change your time zone to one that's 1 hour behind. If you go back into your clock settings and set it to the correct time zone, it'll be ok until the next time you press the clock in TF3D.
So the short term solution is to never press the time =)
SMS timestamp too
I'm using Touch-It 4.0 II.
I'm also experiencing my time shifting by an hour and that my system clock and alarm settings keeps resetting itself back to Bogota, Lima.
Also, my incoming text messages' timestamp is now always 5 hrs in the past.
Is the clock setting from Touchflo 3D supposed to be aligned with the system clock and alarm settings?
Got the same problem before. Able to fix it by making sure the time settings on my computer where i actively sync my phone are the same. That is time, date, time zone, and if DST settings are checked or not.

Is def a problem with touchflow, flashed generic rom back & now phone is working fine again
+1 on this...
Time zone
I read somewhere that the reason text messages were coming in 5 hrs off was that the Rogers tower was doing its own 5 hr timezone offset on the messages so I ended up getting messages with a timestamp of 5 hrs ago. But I never experienced this problem on my Vox so I don't know. I haven't tried to reflash my ROM to a generic and receive text messages either.
Did anyone else notice this SMS timestamp problem only after flashing to a touchflo 3d rom?
Anyone know if this is fixed in touchflow ver 5? Never had the problem with v3
try not to run any navigation apps..i found out my garmin always changing my time every timr i start the apps..
I ad the same problem
In settings of my navigation (Polish AutoMapa) i can turn off synchronization of my time with gps. (sry 4 my english)
Got a TD2 two weeks ago. The clock on my unit is really inaccurate - it can slow more than 5 minutes in one day (24h). Anyone else experienced this?
I haven't been able to find an automatic way to update/adjust time - is this an option somewhere?
No, I did never see an issue like this.
What you can do, is automatically get the time from your provider:
Start - Settings - (More, if you are using TouchFLO) - Personal tab - Phone - Timezone - Tick the box to automatically change time.
Thanks I checked the settings - it was set to automatically receive time from my provider. I unchecked it now to see if that helps. I'll check in tomorrow with the results.

Ah, that might be the problem aswell, didn't think about that.
It could be that your providers clock is lying like 5 minutes behind.
Everytime it (re)connects to the network, it receives the latest time, and I guess in your case, the incorrect time.
I'm looking forward to the results.
Oh well. Since yesterday it's been OK. Will repost if it happens again. Automatic update is turned off.
Okay, good to hear that. I don't expect we hear it from you again..
Let me preface this by saying that after changing this setting and 20 hours later with multiple separations of phone and watch, I have yet to miss a notification and battery life is much much better. My specific problems were: Watch would randomly stop receiving notifications. I would realize this after a few hours go by without any notifications and pull my phone out and see what I've missed. This would happen despite the Wear app showing 'connected' status. Another issue I had was giving a voice command and after a few seconds the watch would return a 'disconnected'message, again the Wear app showed connected. All of this under known working network connections, whether Wi-Fi or cellular. I was also experiencing what I feel is short battery life at about 14 hours per day. I've had and used the watch for two weeks now and have restarted it many many times.
The following is the ONLY thing I have changed since the major improvement in performance. I don't have the depth of knowledge to prove or describe why this worked for me, and maybe it wasn't the cause, but I (knock wood) have a perfectly operating watch now with the battery life indicating about 2 days remaining at noon today.
Go to Settings> Bluetooth> and select the settings icon on your connected device. Then select 'connection access' and choose 'automatic'. Mine defaulted to 'always ask'.. I'm guessing this caused a hangup with the connection between Wear app and watch leading to my problems.
Edit: I'll add that my phone is an LG G2 on 4.4.2 , rooted and running xdabbeb's Rom.
Edit 2: I reset my watch, synced the watch via the Wear app on phone and NOT the Bluetooth screen and now I'm running strong after two days. Made sure automatic was checked as well.
Bugger
I don't have that option in my bluetooth settings
I don't have any problems with mine so far but just checked my settings and it was on always ask.
Could anyone confirm what it should be set as? I have changed mine to automatic anyways.
Thanks for the heads up.
Phil
Not seeing that option in Android 5.0.1 on my HTC One GE. But I have not been having any of the issues mentioned in the OP.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
Here is a pic of the screen where you make selection. Always Ask is NOT what you want, which is what is pictured. Select Automatic. Sounds like this isn't available on Android 5.0 from what I see in responses so far.
I don't think I saw this option on any of the ROMs I ran, but there may be devices out there that have it and default to it, and this one would really break wear connectivity - so it may help someone someday.
I'm on 5.0, lg g3 and have both options.
Although i havnt had a problem with always ask and only switched it to automatic tonight.
Judging from the description, it will work as long as the watch stays connected, but a reconnect from the watch side would ask for confirmation (and could be possibly even silently denied under some circumstances).
Phone -> Watch = no problem
Watch -> Phone = problem
and it's possible (and likely) there are more connections going on than just the primary one, and if the connection is flaky there might be a dead one and a new one from either side...
you could just have been lucky, so far
My issues returned last night. I left my watch at home and went to dinner and out with friends, came back home after several hours. I left the watch in theater mode while I was out and over night. I woke up this morning, put watch on and realized the battery had tanked overnight and I was no longer receiving notifications, again, wear app showing connected. I looked at the battery graph for the watch and it is totally flat while I was out last night and appears to tank fast as soon as I got home and my phone was in proximity to the watch again. It's like it is constantly trying to handshake with the phone or something. The only thing that fixes this problem is a reboot of the Watch itself. I still think the connection setting was helpful because I have yet to see battery life like that or a solid link for that long. I would love to know what exactly is going on here. Bad hardware?
For the sake of comparison, I have android wear in my pull down bar saying 'connected, running sync loop' 100% of the time. It never goes away. Is this what everyone else sees?
That's what I have also since I own the watch.

Nope, shows also when out of the box so without android debugging.
Just a normal operation notification
I just discovered another possible contributor to connectivity issues: I just tried to use my watch to voice dial and after multiple attempts I got the disconnected message. I took my phone out and Wear app says connected and I had full 4G signal. My phone is set with a pattern lock. After unlocking it and checking the above mentioned, I tried the watch again and it worked. Could locking your phone have something to do with these problems?
