Do you have unlocked bootloader? If so, from the bootloader do this (assuming you have android SDK and the mfastboot binary downloaded):
mfastboot flash recovery twrp-2.6.3.1-ghost-4.4.img
get twrp from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/recovery-unlocked-twrp-2-6-3-1-android-t2534850
Now boot into recovery. From the bootloader screen, just volume down to highlight "recovery" and press VOL UP to select/open it.
Now you should be booted into TWRP. When you EXIT TWRP, it will ask if you would like to install SuperSU Installer. Select YES!
Reboot into android. You will find "SuperSU Installer" in your app drawer.
Run it. It will give you a couple options. Choose "PLAY STORE" option.
Now you are rooted, with custom recovery & SuperSU!
(NONE of this is possible without unlocked bootloader)
If you bought your phone from att or Verizon then you're out of luck. All known exploits have been patched

Yes, unlocked bootloader. I've done the process. The recovery is fully installed, but when I enter in it, I recieve a message ("Nenhum comando" - no command).
Tried with twrp 2.6.x.x (yours) and 2.7. Same message (with the downloading android robot).
EDIT: done with this.

A couple questions: first, did you use any of the root 'exploits' before you unlocked the bootloader? If you did then you need to return to Stock before you can flash custom recovery.
Did you use 'mfastboot' to flash TWRP? If not, try that.
There is one individual I helped that had a similar issue. We never figured out what the problem was, but I had him follow the instructions in the "Return to Stock" thread to flash the entire Stock SBF for their carrier, and afterwards the recovery flashed PERFECT. If you do this, be SURE to flash ONLY the same version you are currently on. Do NOT 'downgrade' or flash an earlier firmware version.
Now you have some ideas. Let us know if they help resolve your issue.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2404256
Questions go in the Q&A section.
@FlexZer0,
As @samwathegreat mentioned, if you have rooted using something like SlapMyMoto, RockMyMoto, or PwnMyMoto, or have used MotoWpNoMo on this phone, you'll probably want want to flash your full SBF to get back to stock. (make sure you use the EXACT same rom as what is currently on your phone!!! do NOT attempt to downgrade!!)
In addition to that, something that is VERY important... immediately after flashing custom recovery, you want to reboot into bootloader/fastboot mode and go into recovery. You do NOT want to flash recovery and then reboot normally. For some reason this step is necessary or the recovery doesn't "stick." For example, see steps 8 & 9 at -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/moto-x-qa/step-step-instructions-unlocking-t2649738
Now, if you follow that entire process, please keep in mind it was written/posted a while ago, so it has older links to mFastboot, TWRP and SuperSU...
The latest can be found at the following:
TWRP -> http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/234
SuperSU -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/moto-x-qa/step-step-instructions-unlocking-t2649738

how are you trying to boot recovery? did you notice the legend?:
Vol Up: Selects
Vol Down: Scrolls
Thanks for the replay guys I know how to boot to the recovery and how to get into the fastboot mode. And I have moto x carrier free which means it's does not locked with the carrier like AT&T and Verizone etc. So whenever I searched for the exploits I only found the exploits for carrier locked versions of moto x.

How exactly did you "unlock" the bootloader? From Motorola's official website?

Yup from motorola's website. I got bootloader unlocked warning screen while booting and boot loader status: unlocked in fastboot mode so I'm pretty sure it's unblocked.

OK, good.
Did you try my advice from Post # 2? Flashing the entire Stock SBF for your carrier? Then after a successful boot, flash TWRP again, and afterwards, type:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then use VOL DOWN to select recovery, and VOL UP to select it?
Hey just wondering what is the best way to root a No carrier Moto X running 4.4.3?
I am assuming it's the XT1053, so: unlock the bootloader on Moto's site, flash TWRP, and reboot. That should prompt you to install SU and you will be rooted. You can check the stickies in the general thread for more detail.

Quick doubt:
Unlock
Flash TWRP via app or ADB
Flash SuperSU via TWRP
Thats it?!
Are these the right steps?!

yes, except that.. using the bootloader unlock code and flashing TWRP or other recovery is done via Mfastboot, not ADB.
I've only used Rashr to flash recovery from the phone (no PC involved), but it needed me to be rooted first. So initial TWRP flash and root was done via mFastboot.

Hey guys I tried to root my HTC One Mini 2 using Kingoroot which says it succeeded, however the superuser kingo installed does not open, in fact it just pops up an error saying: "com.kingo..." has stopped working. I tried to restart the device and re root it but it still pops up the same error message when attempting to open superuser, anyone know what is the problem here?

Then instead of using Kingroot, try flashing the SuperSU zip through a custom recovery.
I did not find the need to use SuperSU when rooting the One Mini 2, just unlocked the bootloader, flashed custom recovery and then flashed the ROM.
Works super fine..

TWRP V2.8.5.0 worked for me.
Unlocking bootloader will DELETE ALL DATA, you can follow the steps to unlock bootloader here : http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader
Download file and run as Administrator (Windows) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_1zjuazXSqbQ0p6NWtvRk9OMzA/edit?pli=1
Enter Bootloader>Fastboot and with the device connected run the below command
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img (place TWRP in the same folder as the ADB downloaded file, usually C:\ADB\)
fastboot erase cache
Boot File (In case device gets stuck in boot) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3544788&d=1447703726
Download the latest FW files from from http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-5/oneplus_5_oxygenos_4.5.8/
Install TWRP and Magisk if you don't have them yet.
Magisk should allow you to slide "OEM unlocking" to "enabled" in developer settings (THIS IS IMPORTANT)
Reboot to fastboot
Flash stock recovery via fastboot.
Run locking via fastboot flashing lock command
Allow it to reboot and upon start up it will say device corrupted (THIS IS NORMAL)
Boot to recovery via the warning start screen.
Once in recovery, sideload latest FW.
Profit.

I'm coming from Motorola/Lenovo and I cannot imagine that it is so simple to unlock and relock the bootloader. When you unlock the bootloader on Moto phones you void your warranty. I am so scared from my experience with Motorola that I haven't tried it yet for my OP5.
Can someone please give me some reassurance?

I can relate to that. I have personally owned two Moto E devices along with the OnePlus One and OnePlus 5, and I can assure that it's way too easy with the latter. I have had really bad experience with Moto, be it updates, unlocking, or downgrading. OnePlus is like a second-Nexus to me, when it comes to such stuff. :good:

Thanks for sharing mate.
I`ve alredy rooted with SuperSu and TWRP installed. How do I flash Magisk over SuperSu ?
And I`ve tried to flash latest FW (OOS 4.5.10 Full Zip) with TWRP, but whenever I try to reboot it always says " No OS Installed .......".
I`ve tried several times, but every time it remains the same.
I totally new to OP devices. It would be very helpful, if you share how to revert back to stock OOS and lock the bootloader.

I have followed the instructions but the adb sideload command fails.
The process stops about 40% and the phone screen shows "failed".
Is there somebody have any guess about why it happens?
Sorry if this seems like a dumb question - I'm a little green on the phone modding (last phone was a S3, rooted with oneclickroot I think) I have a bootloader unlockable XT1775 owens (bought from retail, no carrier lock) that I have been planning to bootloader unlock and root with TWRP & Magisk. I just got a notification that update "NPR26-58-45" is available. I downloaded it, but haven't installed yet - for fear that it might affect what I want to do for root.
What should I do? ie: - install it, and go forward with the root process? Root first, and then install?

Do NOT root first!
Edit: do me a favor and upload a system backup after you update, root and install twrp (if you do anyway), so I can make a twrp flashable ROM.
Edit-2: actually, if you could backup system before rooting or anything, that would be better.
You do not want to root first. Update then root as doing an ota while rooted may loose your root status or worse!

Thanks Goose. I will gladly upload that, but I will have to get back to you after the weekend - I apologize, heading out of town after work.
To clarify on the process, I would go through the step to unlock the bootloader (using the code I will get from Moto website and "fastboot oem unlock CODE"). After that is the TWRP step, right? If so, which command do I use: "fastboot boot recovery.img" or "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" ??

Np. Take your time. Thanks. Yes, that is what you do to unlock. Then for flashing twrp it's like you have but make sure to match the last part "recovery.img" to whatever the recovery is named. If your recovery is named twrp.img the command is:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

Since I have your attention too, I'd like to ask - is dmnoverity and phh's SU not needed at all? The only three files copied to the SD card (and then installed) are TWRP, Magisk zip, and Magiskmanager APK?

Phh SU is not needed since Magisk gives you all the necessary root and features. dmnoverity is not needed. I recommend you allow twrp system write access.

Well, I followed your instructions....with a minor tweak - and I'm having problems.
I unlocked the bootloader a couple days ago, but couldn't download the TWRP.bin file, so I used my phone through today. Formatted a 64gb card and loaded the magisk zip and apk on it. Flashed the TWRP on the phone, and used the wipe function to wipe data, cache, and dalvik, and then made a backup to my sd card. Flashed the magisk.zip, and then hit reboot "system". Now it just reboots to TWRP. I can reboot to bootloader, but hitting "start" goes to TWRP again.
What do I do? Where did I go wrong?

Thank you. I tried the command, and it said OK, but it still boots to TWRP; i then reboot to bootloader, and select Start and it goes into the normal system. Is that how it is supposed to work?
Last night I was stuck in a TWRP loop, but i got it to go with formatting data and factory reset wipe in TWRP. After finally getting the system to boot, I installed the Magisk Manager and then Adaway. Now today I was playing with the Chase Pay app, which won't let me sign in due to being rooted. I then reverted my hosts file and uninstalled Adaway, and played with all the hide options in Magisk., to no avail. Root Checker app says that Safetynet is tripped.
Does Magisk effectively work for apps that look at Safetynet on this phone - apps like Chase Pay?

It is not normal to have it boot straight to twrp or the bootloader rather than the rom unless you do so manually.
Have you triedbplaying with the settings in Magisk Manager? There is an option to hide Magisk from your choice of apps. There is also a couple other options in the settings to hide things as much as possible. If you have Xposed installed it won't pass a safteynet check.
