S-OFF issues somthing fixable - Sprint HTC One (M8)

Ok so i did the HTC-Dev Bootloader unlock and root. ok so i have tried firewaters S-Off method and it looks like im not gonna have any problems Except for when i connect my device and open cmd and Type (ADB Devices) usually you get the rsa prompt on your screen asking to approve what you are doing. Theres my issue! i cannot get that prompt at all no matter what i do ive tried diffrent ports ive swapped roms i always have USB Debugging enabled . i have never had this problem before. my note 2 had no problems with its root when i typed ADB devices in cmd. but i do realise i am messing with an htc device.
all drivers are installed. because weird thing is when i type adb devices in cmd it shows my device but does not pop up on my screen!
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Mount your device as file manager and not HTC Sync or whatever

[Q] What's Up With Rooting AT&T 4.4.2?

I really want to root my device and play with custom ROMs. I'm not exactly skilled with modding phones but I'm proficient enough. What I can't figure out is WHY. Why is it so tough to crack this sucker?
Locked boot loader is the first difficulty second is nobody has done it yet it's under a relatively new os and it will take a while to find exploits. My razrm took a year.

Hey. I suddenly have this issue. My phone is starting to refuse copying files sometimes. Don't know why. Including a pic of the error message I get.
Anyone have an idea?

I've had this issue when copying alot of files (gigs at a time). I think it has to do with the time limit you set to lock your phone. Once the timer hits and your phone is locked (meaning you need to enter pin or lockscreen pattern to unlock), it'll disconnect the usb connection as well.
What I tend to do is every once in awhile, I'll tap the screen to make sure it stays on and unlocked. Haven't had this issue since then.
Hope that helps in your case.
It's just strange though. I never had this issue before. Also, it does this when trying to copy playlist files and it started doing it when trying to copy folders. Files were fine, but folders weren't. So weird.

Are you using the OEM USB cable for your transfer? I've got several micro USB cables but only one of them works reliably (the OEM one). It's also possible the OEM cable is going bad if you've had it a while. Maybe you have some extra cables you can test it with?
Surprisingly, I was using it. I used the cable from my EVO 3d for the longest time without issues, but as soon as use the OEM one I start having issues.

Soft Brick.. Please help.

I have an HTC One a friend brought from Craigslist.
This is the situation.
The phone is S-OFF. It is on Hboot 1.56. It has super CID. It have TWRP 2.6.3.4. There is no OS installed. There is no backup on the SD card.
This is what i have already tried: I tried to sideload a rom but the issue is that fastboot is not working. I am on a Windows 8.1 X64 laptop. I have tried even from a Windows 7 laptop but still no luck. I just cannot get the phone to connect to a PC.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

That's odd then.. it's a bit beyond me then. I would try reinstalling HTC drivers and see if that works and if not, use a Linux live CD and see if you can get it recognized there. Anything beyond that I'm out of ideas, hope you can get it working.

are you sure you have a usb cable with data or its only a charging usb cable? you should have a pair of twisted wires for data (green and white) and 2 other wires for power (red and black)

Maybe the usb port on the phone is damaged. normally you should see something in device manager when you connect the phone, even if the driver arent installed.
Am also thinking on the same lines... It charges fine though.. Even in recovery mode or powered off, it charges.. That baffles me...

HTC one M7 charging issues

Okay so I usually charge my phone over night the other day I wake up check the phone and it wasn't charging. It keeps giving me the cannot charge in usb host mode. I know this has been posted a hundred times but I have read through the forums and tried every fix. Nothing works. Battery drains in a couple of hours with no use. My question is should I try to change the battery or the usb port? Has anyone had success with this? Or should I just sell it and get something else? Thanks for reading. Phone is not rooted completely stock. It does charge only when turned off, intermittently and only to about 98%.

If you just throwing it away send it to me
But seriously you can unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery and do a factory reset / format data
then flash a rom it may come back to life.
Have you tried a factory reset from Stock recovery ?
boot to the bootloader choose recovery
then push volume up and tap the power button
it should show stock recovery and do the factory reset in their
Thanks for the reply but I have tried to factory reset. I can get to the stock boatloader screen but no matter what I choose from the menu it just freezes and I have to hold the power button to get it to turn off. I also get no response when connecting to computer. I talked to HTC service and they want the imei number which I can't get. I don't want to throw it out it was the best phone I've had but it sucks to have a $350 brick sitting on my table while I use my backup.

Maybe I'm not that advanced or I don't totally understand but it's not recognized at all if I connect to my computer. No sound and the computer doesn't see it. Only charges for a second then bootloop. Not sure what else to do?

so your not able to put the phone in bootloader ?
volume down + power
in bootloader hook to the PC tap power one time you should be in fastboot USB ... the PC should make a sound and you will be in fastboot mode.
from your fastboot folder on the PC type fastboot devices you should see your phones serial number. then fastboot getvar all will display all your phones info
I can get to the bootloader screen but when I try to make any selection it just freezes computer doesn't make any sound when connecting. I've read a lot and can't seem to find any info. everyone who has a similar problem is rooted and has a bad flash or something where I'm completely stock. I'm starting to think it might be a mother board issue. Thanks I appreciate anyone trying to help.

Yeah I suppose that's possible, but your the first I have seen.
Have you tried holding the power and volume down for over 2 min? the phone will reboot like 3 times but it resets something in the nand
I have tried that a couple of times and the holding a bright light on the sensors and leaving it on the charger for days. The funny thing is at first it would charge when turned off now whenever I plug it in it turns itself on and keeps looping.

Well if Hard resetting doesn't help and you can't issue fastboot commands I don't see what can be done.
I think it's probably hardware related though. A similar case recently where the phone would only charge briefly while turned off, fortunately the device was still functional, after flashing everything possible, finally ended up making it s-off and returning it to stock to send for warranty.
Maybe your fastboot problem is driver related but considering your bootloader is freezing I'd say it's a problem with the phone rather than drivers

probably hardware defect. You can have a brand new M7 from ebay for about 350$ so I don't think it worth the 350$ to get it repaired, just buy another one and keep that one for parts.

yeah, i tend to agree it's a hardware problem; if you've already tried the other fixes (including cleaning the phone's usb port, and trying a different charger & cable), then either your usb port is borked, possibly the battery, even maybe the internal connections.
sorry mate
Thanks I'm probably just going to buy another phone it's just a kick in the butt. You guys are really great for taking the time to try and help. One question should I get a nexus5 or another m7 I have T-Mobile but buy phones from craigslist or eBay I don't like getting the newest phone they loose value way too fast.
