Anyone else have this? It seems that more often than not, I have no carrier text in my status bar. Some would say that is great, but in an area where reception is not great, it is a handy indicator... When it is accurate.
If you have an ongoing notification, the text won't show.

On the browser I noticed the status bar (with the time, signal, battery) hides its self. Id like it to display all the time. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks.

Agreed, I hate not being able to see the time or an incoming text...
i couldnt find how to turn it on all the time either, but my work around is to just push menu and then it will show the status bar for you see it and pull it down.
This annoyed me to the point that I sought out a possible fix. Sad that it doesn't even appear to be a configurable option.
Hi,
I'm searching for a possibility to unhide a hidden notification bar only then when a notification is there.
I dont want to unhide it via home-button or gesture, it shall appear when there is a notifiction.
someone have an idea, how to solve this?

I think this would be a wonderful tweak! Here's hoping a willing developer sees this.
I was about to say I'm all for this, but then I realized showing signal strength is kinda important no? And battery life, but a widget on the home screen can solve that.
That would be pretty sweet
Look for a launcher in the market one of them does this...I forget which though, sorry

^ADW launcher does this I believe. I may be wrong though.
use adw. you can hide it then use a gesture to unhide it.

He doesn't want a gesture to it tho.

Well using gestures, use the up swipe to hide/unhide the status bar and downswipe to open up the notifications, so you can open notifications by down swipe and when you close it the status bar automatically hides... and this is possible in ADW. That's the best option I can think of, I myself use that

while i am no tasker genius or for that matter user even. i feel that this might be able to be accomplished with tasker and a launcher that has the option to hide the status bar. since tasker waits for something to happen such as receiving a notification you could then have tasker execute showing the status bar and then hiding it once there are no more notifications. in adw you can set up an icon to show and hide the status bar and also as mentioned before use a gesture. idk if tasker can use a gesture or icon. but if it can then an icon that is placed somewhere within the launcher for its executing could be used. if you didnt want it visible it could be hid in the hidden dock bar to hide and also to use, if for some reason you needed to access the status bar. idk im just speculating. if someone was more familiar with tasker could chime in and maybe give more insight on if this is plausible or not would be interesting.
You could keep it hidden and use tasker to show toast (pop up) notifications , I think its possible

Today I used my phone on landscape mode. I noticed that there is bluish bright color where status bar usually is.
It is visible at white, grey, and blue backgrounds. I start using custom launcher now to hide status bar.
Do you know how can I fix like stuck pixel solving applications?
Thanks

Just by hiding the status bar and switching between 12/24 hour clocks will help. Also use landscape mode more often. It should clear up. Try to use dark colored backgrounds/themes too. Blue is the first color to cause problems with amoled.
Also lower your screen timeout time to 15 or 30 seconds to reduce wasted screen time while also saving some battery. But hiding your dock amd status bar with your launcher will help go a long way too. I use Nova and set them both to hide with finger gestures making it easy
This will only prevent further damage though. Anything to fix current damage?
Also I tried nova to hide, but bar comes back every time I use an application. So it hides only on desktop. How to hide always? I want to be on full screen always.

All this accomplishes is to even the burn out - similar to grinding a screen with sand paper/grit to "buff out a scratch."
Can't fix burn out.

Actually you may be right. I am not sure but it might me more visible now. It did not fix at all.
Any suggestion to hide status bar always? Also is there any fix?
I don't want to return back the phone because:
1. I have to unroot and change CF-Root kernel.
2. I have to go back to GB.
Then, I can go to where I bought this. And I will need to wait maybe 1 month to get replacement or fix.
If I cannot fix this by myself, I will go to shop just before warranty ends which means 1.5 years later. It is not visible on photo/games/other colored backgrounds.
If no fix, I just want to hide status bar even if any application is open.
No you can't fix the damage that has already been done.
From another thread were I posted....
Use launchers that hide the notification bar on home screens.
Don't use apps that don't have the option to hide the notification bar.
Use full screen browsing with browsers such as Opera Mobile
And don't leave static images on the phone for extended periods of time.
And for the love of god don't use a cradle or docking station because that will destroy your screen! Think about it? Leaving your phone on all day at work in its docking station showing the time and weather. What do you think is going to happen to that screen?
I cannot believe you just made me notice this! Damn that's annoying me now! Blueish tint.
Edit... does having a black status bar still cause this?

I always had black status bar. I don't know how it happened. Now, I start using StatusBar+ . I will cycle through Red Green Blue(maybe no blue for a while) for color of status bar. Also icon colors will be cycled as well.
Sorry I made notice you the defect. I won't buy Samsung phone anymore. HTC Desire was better First slight horizontal lines/tint and now this burn in. I say it is low quality.

Only way is to get screen replaced. I heard other user state Samsung will do this service for you as long as your phone is under warranty but you must send it in to them.
Or pay for shop to replace screen for you.

Since I know there is defect, my eyes is always there even while watching movie. Every white/grey/blue background I notice it.
This may not be possible but I figured that I'd ask anyway. Is there any way to get the notification icons that pop up on the status bar to be more like the KitKat icons? I've got some notifications that show up as a plain white square on my status bar ever since I upgraded to Lollipop a few months ago.
Let me give you an example of couple that I'm running into. I have the NASCAR Mobile app on my phone. I also have the 14News app (local news) on my phone. Anytime I get notifications from either of these apps, I get a plain white square on my status bar and I have to take the time out and look and see what it is. I'm wondering if it is something in the Motorola settings that I'm missing because I am also running Lollipop on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 (8") tablet and I don't have these issues on that device at all.
Any help that can be given to me on this would definitely be greatly appreciated.

do you have greenify? sometimes the system will lump those together if they've gone inactive for awhile and are greenified.

I've never had Greenify on my Moto X at all. These apps that I was talking about are apps that I use and get notifications from several times per week and I'd like to be able to tell at a glance which app is giving me the notification on my phone.
By the way, I've marked both apps as priority and I still get the plain white squares on these app notifications.

then perhaps it's due to too many notifications (sometimes from the same app). I noticed that on some apps like fb. on other apps like scrabble, there is a number embedded on the notification icon.
i believe there is a setting to tell whether or not to group them together or not.
There isn't anything like that on my status bar at all.
Are you asking if its possible to change the notification icon style on Lollipop to that of KitKat/Jellybean then yes its possible with the use of some Xposed mods. If the notification icons themselves appear distorted due to some reason then I'm afraid there is something wrong with the apps perhaps. A screenshot or two would have been really helpful in getting a better understanding of your issue here.
If you're asking about notification ticker, there's a module for Xposed by the name of 'Enable Notification Ticker'. I have it installed myself.

I was hoping that I wouldn't have to root this phone but I may try it one of these days.

I'm not really talking about a notification ticker. I have tried these before and found them to be more annoying than useful for me. Thank you anyway for your input.

If you look at the screen shot, there's a notification count on the settings icon, but I can't find where that setting is. This happens after T-mobile software update You can see it here http://s10.postimg.org/a108w9iuh/Screenshot_20160924_021341.png
Anyone has any idea? Thanks
