Hi,
I am sure this question has been asked before but I haven't found any threads yet that have fully answered my question. I have the opportunity to get a Sprint phone for a good deal. The only problem is that I am on at&t at the moment. I understand that Sprint is cdma and at&t is gsm. Can I sim unlock the phone to get it working on at&t? If I can get it to work, will I lose functionality such as LTE?
Thanks!
I think you can, but you will have to go through sprint to have it unlocked. Because the hack method is for international users only

I recently unlocked my sim slot, and I have a mobile internet sim from T-Mobile. Since the Sprint HTC One supports the band for T-Mobile 3G, would it be possible to get 3G from T-Mobile for data on my Sprint HTC One?
The primary purpose would be to alleviate data costs from Sprint.

I can't seem to get it to work though. I tried manually adding a tmobile apn, i set it to global mode, still says im offline then goes to 1x from sprint. Any advice?
I know as the phone sits currently it will not work with AT&T but I was wondering if anyone had found a way around the differences in the networks to make it compatible. You people are pretty smart here so I'm sure someone has. :good:
There's actually a way to SIM unlock your Sprint HTC one to use almost every network using a SIM card but it will lack certain frequencies. U will be able to use 3g and certain locations will let u use 4g based on the frequency in the area.

I have heard of people doing this and still not being able to use AT&T because of the different frequencies with Sprint and ATT. If I can just SIM unlock the phone and use the voice I would be happy. But I have not seen where anyone has had any luck with getting AT&T voice to work on a Sprint phone. I will try it thought and see what I get!
Could you post a link to directions on SIM unlocking the HTC One? It would be greatly appreciated.
So I'm thinking about buying an unlocked moto x originally through Verizon but was used on t-mobile, my question is can anyone guarantee me that it'll work on att if I put my apn settings and will i get LTE ... any answer is appreciated

Ok... So you're thinking about buying an unlocked phone that was originally a Verizon phone but was used on T-Mobile that you want to use on AT&T? That is a bit convoluted, each vendor uses different bits of spectrum and a Verizon phone isn't a pure GSM phone such as AT&T or T-Mobile might have, I would be cautious, why not just get an unlocked AT&T device?
That being said, if it can be used on a GSM network like T-Mobile it should work on AT&T, the problem being that - as I said - each carrier uses different bits of the spectrum.
Save yourself the potential hassle and buy the proper AT&T model.
Yeah i am being cautious I'm passing on it thanks for the responses

TBH, you'd be better off buying a HTC One ATT/T-Mo variant since (I think, but haven't looked up) all frequencies work on it.
Anyways, you should be able to just insert the SIM and you should be good to go. Make sure you go into your Mobile Network settings, and change the mode to GSM. Alternatively you could go into testing (*#*#4636#*#*) and change the mode to something like WCDMA preferred.
Hi all just read over the weekend that straight talk is now allowing Verizon 4g Lte phones on their service and getting the lte with a SIM using Verizon towers. So has anyone been able to flash a Sprint HTC one to Verizon and been able to get Lte with the Verizon SIM?
