AT&T HTC One M7 with hboot 1.56 - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I had to send my phone to HTC for repair. It came back with hboot 1.56 (and I am on AT&T). Is there any way of gaining S OFF on this? Firewater and Rumrunner didn't work..
Will appreciate any input.

Have you tried Rumrunner after rooting the phone?

Hmmm. I read somewhere that some HTC Ones just don't go S-OFF. I guess yours may be one of those versions.

I had S off on this phone before I sent for repair.
I am attaching my getVar, and logs of rumrunner and firewater just to see if someone can point out where the problem could be..

Unlocking relocked bootloader fails

I had my bootloader unlocked, device was s-off, and super cid, then decided to sell my HTC one so I went back to s-on, restored my Telus Nandroid ( no RUU for Telus), relocked bootloader and then try to update it, it was then stuck so I pushed on power, went a little bit further, then stucked, power off and it completed. Now I decided to keep the device so I tried unlocking it again with HTC DEV, after flashing the unlock_code.bin it says it's successful but nothing happens on the phone. Any idea how to fix that?
Thanks
Anyone? I just can't think of anything else
Have you tried to push the file another one time?
However, now you're with 1.54 hboot or 1.44?

Use the revone file and go s-off, after do all you need and stay with s-off also if you will sell it

I tried to go s-off a few times but it always failed with error -6. I remember when I went s-off (when I got the device) I had to do like 15 times before it finally works, I guess I'll need to keep on trying. Thanks for the help

Sounds like you're on 1.54, double check!
If you are still on 1.44 use a Rom based on 4.1.2 for biggest chance of success.

before repair: hboot 1.44 --> after repair: hboot 1.55 --> problem?

Hey guys,
I got my One back from repair today. Before I gave it to the shop it was S-ON and hboot 1.44. Now it's S-OFF and hboot 1.55!
I read that a few things are different for hboot 1.55. Can anybody tell me, what's different now regarded to flashing ROMs etc.
Is it possible to revert back to hboot 1.55? Is this necessary at all? Are there disadvantages with hboot 1.55?
I hope somebody can help me with some answers.
Thank you very much in advance!

Unless you want to reset your device to 100% stock with a lower version ruu.exe there is no reason to downgrade hboot back to 1.44. Yes its possible to downgrade hboot but it will require you to s-off the device first using rumrunner tool or firewater tool. nvm already s-off

does it says UNLOCKED?
wow it's great news that you got S-OFF after repair
and you should stay S-OFF; for flashing desired firmwares and vice versa
any hboot is fine (for Win8.1 you need to be on 1.55+ for fastboot to see your phone), other than that, just keep the hboot that comes with the firmware.

Thank for the answers!

No, it's locked
I tested my phone and realized, that the failure still exists!
Should I make it S-ON again or can I send it back to the shop with S-OFF because they gave it me with S-OFF?

What sort of failures are you experiencing, ( are they hardware or software failures ). Stay S-Off.. it's a 99% guarantee of getting out of trouble.

It's hardware related (earphone issue).

Then return it for repair, no need to s-on, but inform them the hardware problem still remains..

Hi,
You mean android revolution HD 36 ?
Where can I find it ?
I see only 31.6 and 71 on this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023
I was trying to download that 31.6(Seanie maybe misspelled) and I couldn't download it because there were no mirrors :/
Any Luck?
I am running hboot 1.57 with viperone 6.2.1 and bulletproof-m7-14-2

tried firewater and it hangs all the time...
I have disabled my firewall and installed Superuser & Busybox
The cable is good, battery is at 100%...

If you have exhausted the many combinations for firewater and you are receiving the whelps this sucks message then your another alternative is the paid S-OFF Sunshine.

Is that a guaranteed s-off? I wouldn't want to waste 25$
It isn't wasted. It does compatibility checks before it does anything. Most important thing is to have stock kernel for it to work

I don't know about guarantee but I would check with the site to see what they say.

It worked :victory:
Now I am getting no signal.
I changed the CID to 11111111 and flashed a Bell Mobility Nandroid Backup since I intend on using it on Bell... the damned thing doesn't get signal...
Try flashing a newer firmware?
[Guide] HTC ONE Hboot 1.57 Root S-Off Change CID Downgrade Hboot & OS
Search the above phrase on google. The first result should be from the site forums(dot)gsmhosting(com) with the title same as search.
I am a new user so I can't post external links.
I used that guide to achieve S-Off on my HTC One M7 UL with Hboot v. 1.57.
I had to run the final firewater commands several times before firewater launched finally. Enough tries to make me memorize those commands so I stopped copying and pasting them and instead actually typing them. But it worked for me.
I hope it helps.

Thank you but, I did achieve S-OFF already without downgrading and firewater using Sunshine. My problem now is not getting signal only Emergency Calls

Have you checked settings to see what network mode is checked? Check each one separately to see which one gives the best results. Auto generally works best! Did you have a GSM or CDMA phone?

Umm, why are you running the same thread again, this question has already been answered, there are no alternatives for your current HBOOT.

not without s-off, like I said in the other thread, pay or find someone who is willing to pay for you with a card or live with s-on, most of use had to do it.
