Please read my story below and help me with any contact details of any sony ericssion people, I dont wont the number of customer service they are the same filthy people
I had purchased the Xperia X1 for $700. My X1 accidently fell in water. And i still had a few weeks remaining on warranty. But the service center told me as water has gone into the handset it cannont be repaired under warranty and i wil have to bare the charges to which i agreed. After inspecting the handset the service center told me the PCB has died and they will have to send the device to there head service center to get a new PCB installed which wil cost me around $200 aprox. I agreed to shell out another $200 just for repairing the phone. so the total cost of phone would get to "900. I was told the repair would take 10days, i checked out after 2weeks only to know that the handset would take another 10 days to get repaired this continues for 2 months and i am told it cannot be repaired.
What am i supposed to do with a handset which i bought for $700 which i planned or using for 2-3 years as it had many features.
And then after calling customer service they again take 2 weeks finally the 3rd week i calll and they tell me i the handset cannot be repaired and neither can they give me another refurbished handset
plz help guys
They should agree to returning your 700 dollars in that case, check my new thread for reference.
Legally, I don't think you are in a position to ask for anything back:
If they gave you a written estimate you have a better chance, though it depends on the legislation where you are, and also there is normally a clause that allows them to modify that estimate once they have opened the phone up.
* I would talk it through with your local consumer organisation.
If for example they changed the motherboard and still it didn't work, they have used a part (and the associated labour costs) in an attempt in goodwill to repair the phone.
Bear in mind, water damage invalidates the guarantee, so they are not obliged to return the original cost of the phone or give you a replacement.
The best you can hope for is a goodwill gesture, possibly return the $200 for the failed repair, but TBH you're not in a strong position there.
Hi,
Just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with the Samsung Service Centre in the UK?
I phoned Samsung (0330 SAMSUNG) this afternoon regarding the static noises that my phone creates during calls. The troubleshooting failed so they asked to send my phone for repair to Glasgow on the below address:
Regenersis PLC
Express Repair Area
32 Fountain Drive
Inchinnan Business Park
Renfrewshire
PA4 9RF
They e-mailed me using the e-mail address [email protected] which seems to be legit. I'm just curious just to why they don't have a dedicated repair centre. Is this the right address for the Samsung Repair Centre? My phone is all packed up now and ready to be sent tomorrow.
Any thoughts?
Yesterday I bought a Telus HTC One from a person off of Craigslist ($475), little did I know there is a cluster of stuck pixels along with several more stuck pixels at the top of the phone. I have unlocked it (I bought it locked to Telus, paid $25 for unlock) and put my Bell SIM in it.
The phone came as so:
-Bootloader is "*tampered*" along with an unlocked bootloader (which I can fix, I'm pretty sure: with s-off and re lock)
-Without the Beats Logo on the back (he took it off)
-Running some pre-release 4.2.2 ROM, rather then the stock Telus firmware (I'm sure I can flash the RUU)
-With a scratch on it which wasn't mentioned on the listing
-Digitizer is faulty, multiple stuck pixels and one large cluster (Well, "large" seeing that the pixel density is so high)
Since, I bought this second hand as well as being on Bell (I'm in Canada btw) would I be able to get RMA? As the EULA denounces that I being a second hand buyer can not have the warranty...I however do have the S/N stickers for the RMA and my seller will give me the receipt.
So should I get a refund or risk a possible reject from HTC RMA?

I'm not a legal guy, but hmmm...
If the warranty is non-transferable you will end up paying money for out of warranty repairs. Display module replacement is 180 USD for USA.

Well, if I can get the receipt and have the S/N stickers... technically I can say it's mine
Although, will Telus or Bell be able to check the IMEI to see who's it was?

The phone is yours, the warranty is not. If it was mine I'd be taking it up with the seller, doesn't seem that they were completely honest about the phones condition.
Nope, in almost all cases the warranty is not transferable. Think of it this way, you sign a contract with the seller to give them x amount of money for a certain item and they make you a promise that if the item breaks they will (under certain circumstances) fix it. Selling the phone on violates the original contract which is solely between you and the manufacturer and thus they have no obligation to fulfill the warranty to anyone but the original purchaser. That's the law but often not the practicality. If you have the warranty you may be able to take it into a shop and find a nice sales rep, or you may be able to get the guy who sold it to you to claim the warranty. However from what you have said he doesn't sound very trustworthy. If you have the warranty (piece of paper which came with the original phone) you could try and take it to a Telus store and see what they say.

I think I will Un-Root, Relock Bootloader and get my money back. If all goes well hopefully I can just buy an unlocked international version in the coming months. Should I try and revert it to stock? ( I could probably get better footing in trying to convince him to refund )

Look, if u have a warranty fr ur country, HTC will do it for free. If ur seller is willing to provide u with a proof of purchase, then u can get it replaced fr free. If he doesnt have a proof of purchase, they will charge u.
Hi folks,
I've had issue after issue with my HTC One Developer edition for the last six months which have been a pain in the butt and wasted a ton of my time... First the camera started to malfunction, so I had that repaired locally (with another defective camera), the local guy who finally repaired the camera messed up the screen which had to be replaced, then the top speaker blew... I was seriously considering throwing the damn thing under a freight truck and get another phone.
I decided to give it one last chance, and send it to HTC for repair. They estimated the repair between $90 and $200 as my warranty was void (I was upfront and told them the phone was rooted, s-off, opened for repairs, etc.).
Exactly 1 week after I mailed my device to the US repair centre (from Canada), A guy from FedEx handed me a package with this:
They were supposed to call me with a quote for the repairs. I had two weeks remaining under warranty and they repaired it free of charge!:good:
Sounds is so awesome with two speakers working! Love this thing!
Thanks HTC.
where do you live?
