Need help bypassing Exchange security - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Now that we have root, I am do ready to bypass Exchange security. Active Sync forces me to use a pin, and won't allow me to use fingerprint to unlock. I have installed the xposed framework and under security have checked bypass exchange security, then rebooted. Still can't select fingerprint to unlock (greyed out). I have deleted my Exchange account and set it up again and was still forced to apply Exchange security settings.
What am I missing?

Exchange Bypass. Make sure you reboot after installing and enabling it. I would delete your Active Sync account, reboot, install the module, reboot, set up Active Sync again. Worked for me.

Upgrade to JB: Exchange mail settings crash

Hi all,
After upgrading my phone to JB I am experiencing only one issue, for the rest it is running fine! The e-mail app worked for a day or so, then it needed to apply the security settings, so it said. This failed with a crash of the settings app. Removed the exchange account, and added it back same problem. This is what happens:
1. Set up account details.
2. Device prompts that security settings should be applied, I click OK.
3. Settings screen appears in black and then crashes: "Settings has stopped".
4. The e-mail app then repeatedly asks for application of the security settings.
- The e-mail app does not show up as a device administrator.
- Tried clearing the cache of the e-mail app and exchange service.
- Tried setting the account from the e-mail app and settings app.
- Did NOT try a hard reset, I would like to keep this as a final solution.
Couple of questions:
- Does somebody else have this problem?
- Is there a way to manually make a program a device administrator?

Thanks, but the device should be rooted then. Is it possible to root the phone with the new firmware already?

Rooted it. (Thnx rajman) Sadly the app reset of both Email and Exchange Services did not fix the problem. Any onther ideas?
I've been running Moxier over the past few days without any issues. I think that the device administrator database is corrupted and that this causes the settings crash. Is there any way to reset this database/file?
I figured it out. The things I do not to have to reinstall...
I tried installing the stock JB mail and Exchange service with ES Explorer. No go, but in stead of services this time email stops.
Removed the original mail and Exchange app and service. No go, same as above.
Removed stock JB stuff and restored the original system APK's, reboot and whaddayaknow: it asks if it should make the app Device admin. Works!
I left Moxier on the phone just in case...

[Q] Request: Modified email APK for bypassing Exchange security?

Anybody have a modified EMAIL apk that bypasses Exchange security permissions? This needs to work on the Note4.
Is there an easy way to modify the stock APK to do this?

What do you mean by "bypasses Exchange security permissions"?
If you mean that it doesn't apply ActiveSync settings that are forced by the ActiveSync profile, that is not done via the e-mail client. If you mean "allow me to access a mailbox that I am not allowed to access by permissions on the mailbox", that won't work as those are server-side Active Directory settings, not e-mail client settings.
Its definitely the security password.. and exchange polices wise
I use Enhanced Email to bypass the exchange security.

Those are aosp 4.4.2 email client, ypu need both, and also need to delete the stock email and exchange from system/app.
I believe I signed them so they should work by simply installing.
Make sure u backup the stock files first.

Do I need to be rooted to delete out of system app
I'm just going to leave this here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2886824

MobileIron detects Magisk's systemless root

Has anyone been able to get Magisk to work with MobileIron (enterprise device admin app)? I'm on a Nexus 6p with Magisk 13 beta and it detected that my device was rooted and disabled the MobileIron app.
Note: my devices passes the SafetyNet checks just fine
Have you added the app to the Hide list?
More things an app might detect can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/magisk-magisk-hide-troubleshooting-tips-t3561828
Check under "Other things to try".
I did try hiding without luck. I wonder if MobileIron's Device Administrator status somehow bypasses that.
Try uninstall the magisk manager app, any sudo management apps, etc.
Then if that doesn't work, try uninstall some of the well known root apps like titanium backup etc.

Yup, this is probably it. Out of curiosity i decompiled the apk, and it looks like mobileiron relies pretty strongly on package names, I didn't get the list (pulls from a server), but its probably looking for known root related apps.
Dont know how to solve that.
That mobileiron stuff looks terrible.

That's a very interesting way for it to be done.
If you are using an adblock, maybe check where it is polling from and block that IP through your hosts file.
Otherwise, you don't actually need the MagiskManager once everything is set up. If you uninstall, you still have root and MagiskHide working in the background, so maybe go for this and ensure that MobileIron is included in the MagiskHide list.
tried removing all suspicious apps (old SU apps, busybox, Magisk, etc) but still seems to see it
edit: nevermind, looks like Root File Explorer was the culprit
Please elaborate for the culprit,
Do you manage to run mobileiron with magisk?

Well it stopped giving me the root error message, yes. However, the email app doesn't seem to work for me, but that may be a separate issue.

Try to reinstall the app. I've Magisk V13 beta on Android 7.1. Secure Mail app (another type of enterprise email app) works fine. One time, it stopped working. I had to reinstall it to make it work again.

I had the same issue (firm is shifting all their Android users onto [email protected]). Spent untold hours with support and finally they realized there was a problem with my account ActiveSync at their end. The Mail+ app wasn't supposed to be asking for password at all.
Once they flipped the switch on that, everything worked.
at the moment i have the some problem with that root detection.. i don't know how to solve :-/ in the pasted it worked with magisk-hide.. but now :'-(
months later.. anykind of solutions?
When the company I worked at moved to MobileIron, I refused to put it on my device. They bought me (and paid service for) an iPhone for work and installed it on that.
If they require your off-hours attention, but don't consider you valuable enough for that investment, you may want to consider moving to a company that considers you less expendable.
it is not really a solution if you are independently, but thanks for you reply
I have been trying to achieve this as well, removed all root apps but still got an email saying that my device is rooted
Unfortunately, this is still an issue with the latest beta (16.6).
Any update here? I am experiencing the same issue

Keep apps in work profile from detecting root?

I have enrolled my phone with the MS Intune company portal app to be able to use my company mail from my phone. The Outlook app installs from the Play app in the work profile. The Outlook app in the work profile somehow detects root and will not open. I don't have permisssion to install Magisk (or any apps) in the work profile and use Magisk Hide. Any suggestions to how to hide root from Outlook in a work profile? I'm running Magisk Canary 20.2-72edbfc4 on my OnePlus 7T
Did you hide magisk manager? Open magisk > settings > hide magisk manager

I have the same issue, outlook, SEP and intune installed in work profile. Unable to install Magisk in work profile due to managed profile.
Did you managed to find any solution for this ?

Yeah I ended up uninstalling Outlook, unrolled in Intune Company Portal app, which removed the work profile, and uninstalled Portal as well. Reinstalled portal app marked it hide in magisk before opening it. Enrolled and installed Outlook again. Then it worked

Thanks,
It worked for me after installation, I have SEP also as part of intune compliance.
It all work perfectly post installation, but once I reboot SEP detects the root and log me out of all work profile apps.

You have disabled required permission

I have Xiaomi Mi 9 lite. Rooted and bootloader unlocked. Netflix didn't work so I downloaded xapk bundle, installed it through apkmirror app. I had to turn of miui optimization so the installation would complete. It did, but after that I can't open Contacts and dialer. I asks to give permission and i do then it says "you have disabled required permission". I went to settings, found contacts app and gave all permissions, other permission also and enabled all notifications. Still doesn't work.
And after restart i cant enter pin, screen shows, but quickly disappears. Then I have to restore my TWRP backup.
I have removed apkmirror app and turn ON optimatizaton, still doesn't work.
Reinstalling or updateing Contacts app also does nothing.
Can you get back into the system past your pin? If so, just install a different dialer/contacts app, there are plenty that should work

No I can't get past pin screen if Netflix is installed.
But when I restore backup, evertything works, except Netflix.
