It appears you tried to flash a pre-4.4.2 SBF to your phone... It is stated multiple places throughout the forum that you can NOT downgrade to any version prior to 4.4.2 once on 4.4.2
You say you flashed the 'original firmware' - I take that to mean you flashed a 4.2.2 or 4.4 SBF?
You should -try- to SBF back to stock by following the manual method in the Return to Stock thead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-moto-x-return-to-100-stock-using-t2446515
Use the 4.4.2 SBF for your carrier/model. As long as you can use fastboot, we can -probably- get you fixed up.
If you can't get that to work, you may try your luck at the methods listed in the "Resurrecting a Bricked Moto X" Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/how-to-resurrecting-bricked-moto-x-t2629057

Seems I found a way to completely erase all data on my phone, with fastboot being the only thing I can get into. Every option in fastboot errors out. There are no partitions. Bootloader got locked somehow and I can't unlock it anymore. I have tried flashing 4.4 and 4.4.2 with RSDLite - errors. My IMEI and SKU are both zero'd out according to the barcodes fastboot menu. Only my serial# remains. It's a big ol' mess
Here's the bootloader https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzDChv5WgeeDSTc2VFYzTTNXaWp4MkR4d0dKcXQzdkxRNlJn/view?usp=sharing
It says:
Code:
downgraded security version
update gpt_main version failed
Failed to hab check for gpt_backup: 0x35
CID Read Failure
Invalid CID status 0x69
CustomerID error. Contact Dealer: 0xdead
No SP partition found
Fastboot Reason: Invalid CID
I think this thread is the closest to my problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/moto-x-qa/fastboot-reasoninvalid-cidsolved-t2632386
Can anyone help?
edit:
Figured it out! It was a downgrade issue I think.
I got the official GSM DEV 4.4.4 file from motorola here: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images (i had to request the download, took about 6 hrs to get "approved") and flashed that using their own flash.bat in the zip. I also had to use mfastboot.exe and rename it to fastboot.exe so the batch file would work.
So I guess once you upgrade, no more flashing official images that are a downgrade!

Correct. This has been posted about MANY TIMES.... Once you have upgraded to 4.4.2 or above... NEVER attempt to downgrade. If you downgrade you will immediately brick, or set yourself up to brick on the next OTA.
In fact, the only time it was "safe" to downgrade is when meeting the pre-reqs and following the SlapMyMoto process (i.e. 4.4.0 to 4.2.2 w/camera update).
Same problem but after Lollipop OTA update
I have the same problem with a botched install of the recent ghost lollipop OTA update on the Moto X 1056. The only difference is that the boot error message is missing the "No SP partition found" line. Any ideas where I can get the ghost stock ROM to try the fix presented here? I did manage to save the OTA Blur_Version.212.144.2.ghost_sprint.Sprint.en.US.z ip, but I don't know how to us that with fastboot.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Hi all. I'm an idiot. I updated to the 5.0 rom, and tried to downgrade to 4.4.3. It went well, until my device tried to update to 4.4.4. Now I'm stuck with a bootloader (xt1053 30.B7) that says it's locked, says it can't be unlocked, and says
Code:
downgraded security version
update gpt_main version failed
Failed to hab check for gpt_backup:0x35
CID read failure
Invalid CID status 0x69
CustomerID error. Contact dealer: 0xdead
no SP partition found
Please, is there any way to bring my device back to life? I've tried flashing pretty much anything I can get my hands on, but it always fails because the bootloader is locked. I tried unlocking it with the code I got from motorola a while back, but that's not working either. Again, please help if possible.
I'm a jackass. I'm trying the RSD with the newest SBF now.
Hopefully the 4.4.4 will fix you up.

I am not very familiar with how Moto's phone's do their stuff. But, have you tried flashing the stock image for your device? One thing though, if you used the leaked soak test to upgrade your device, your screwed until the official lollipop image for your device comes up.

IF you updated to one of the 5.02 leaks (or soaks as they were called), and got this message when trying to downgrade by flashing an OLDER Moto SBF (like 4.4.4), then you will likely be stuck until a 5.02 SBF leaks.
GPT.BIN doesn't like being downgraded, or attempted to be downgraded.
However, if your bootloader still says 30.B7, I would try flashing the stock Moto Xt1053 4.4.4 SBF using mfastboot by following option 5 at -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/MotoX-ReturnToStock.html
So the bootloader does say it's 30.b7, but it also says it's locked. And when I try to unlock it, it says fastboot oem unlock disabled. I have tried flashing back to 4.4.4, but I think the updated gpt from 5.0.2 is messing it up.
As a few of us have tried to warn people, and just like the mad rush to flash kit Kat when it came out.... You will likely need to wait for the SBF of 5.0.2 for your device. Not much else you can do at this point.
Sorry for your unfortunate situation.
I managed to get it running again by flashing the gpt of the lollipop files. I'm doing my best to go to the 1053 lollipop build to avert another brick. Thanks all for the help!
And I'm successfully on the XT1053 lollipop build. Let it be known that I'm only on lollipop to avoid incompatibilities due to the new GPT I had to flash. Sorry Motorola. Trust me, I wish I had waited.

I did the same thing with my moto x and now I dont know what to do with it, can you help me?
Does yours say exactly what mine does? If so, flash the gpt.bin from the 5.0.2 zip's root directory, and reflash 4.4.4 completely. Then update using the zip from the other thread.

Can you explain what you did after flashing 4.4.4 with the gpt.bin from 5.0.2. I'm about to do that but am not sure what update in another thread you are referencing.

A sticky on how to possibly brick your device with one false move?
Dear all,
I'm new to xda and to ROM tweaking and changing, but I am a developer and I know Linux very well.
I'm trying to restore the factory 4.4.4 ROM on my XT1068 because I can't live with Lollipop even if I tried for weeks.
The factory images are posted in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...riginal-motorola-firmware-collection-t3153533 and I followed the instructions there and other instructions as well with no success so far.
What I tried, after rooting the phone and unlocking the bootloader has been:
- flashing according to http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/restore-to-stock-t2873657 using fastboot commandline from my laptop
- trying to install with TWRP
Attempts with fastboot commands were a total failure and only lead me to bricking the system multiple times. Apparently the signature is not accepted so some of the fastboot flash steps miserably fail and brick the system.
Attempts with TWRP to install or wipe and install (also disabling the signature check otherwise it gets stopped by that) bring nowhere, with TWRP just telling that there was an error flashing right after checking the md5sum. By the way: there was no md5sum on the files in the original thread, so I created my own one (with the risk of having wrong md5 if the download was corrupted).
After hours spent on this the only thing I think I figured out is that lollipop bootloader is a nightmare and prevents me from installing 4.4.4. I can't figure out how you guys managed to install without complaints the 4.4.4 images. BTW: the 5.0 image I had on the smartphone was the RETGB one and it was bought over amazon, originally shipped with 4.4.4
P.S: the error I get with fastboot is: preflash verification failed
must have unlocked bootloader via motorla page and try my 4.4.4 easy installer http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/windows-tool-moto-g-2014-xt1068-dual-t2983295- read the README for instructions -firmware d in list for GB from amazon UK

My friend, if you wanna upgrade your Android OS, please do it NOT(!!!), then flash a Factory Image from XDA on your phone.
It results in a hard brick if you upgrade via OTA.
I've a XT 1092 bought in Germany, now it is:
Andriod version: 5.0
System version: 22.21.19.victara_retde.retdeall.en.DE.retde
Build number: LXE22.46-19
What I've done on it:
1, Unlock,Root
2, Being unable to do OTA, download a German version of 5.0, recovery to this 5.0 through fastboot
Now there is always system update notification on the cell phone, so I download it automatically and try to update it.
Then the little robot appears and updating process starts.
But it failed every time, after power on the phone, it just says no change was made.
I enter the fastboot mode on phone through volume down and power button, and it says:
Device is unlocked. status code: 3
Software status: modified.
How could I successfully do an OTA?
Why it still says modified even after I recovered the phone to a stock version 5.0?
Many thanks, and wish you all a Merry Christmas!

To successfully do OTA, your system must fully unmodified, this including no custom recovery, unrooted, stock boot logo, etc. So, if your system only rooted, you have to unroot first. Or the easiest way, just flash the stock system and recovery image, then perform OTA.

Nevermind, delete.

thanks for your replay.
my x2 is now on a German version 5.0, and unlocked.
i think it is unrooted, but truth be told the last step I had taken before running into this OTA issue was returning the rooted phone to 5.0 by fastboot.
so now I'm even not sure weather it is rooted or not.
I've tried the steps regarding below method with stock ROM, hoping it can return to stock status and be ok to do OTA.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/guide-return-to-stock-official-status-t3274121
Question: is this what you've suggested "flash the stock system and recovery image"?
but when i access the bootloader, it stays the same as before, and says:
device is unlocked. status code: 3
software status: modified.
then I put the zip stock ROM into phone, and tried to do OTA on phone both with original name and modified name(update.zip)
But after selecting the ROM in recovery, it says:
qe 1/1

all the thing i want is being able to to OTA, I have searched some threads both on domestic forum in China and on XDA
but no one works.
thanks in advance.

Why would you want to do an OTA?
Just grab the newest ROM and flash it.
I've seen a 6.0 XT1092 ROM somewhere on these forums.

Did you flashed 5.1 or 5.1 based custom rom previously like cm12. 1?
I'm facing the same problem. Did you get any solution?
I've been trying for two-weeks to apply the 6.0 OTA to my Moto X 2nd Gen XT1095 phone.
The phone is rooted with CWP recovery rom inplace.
After the OTA is download and the phone reboots to apply it, I get:

1. I don't understand the reference to victata:4.4.4 as I'm running Android 5.1 right now.
2. I can't find a recovery image for T-Mobile for the XT1095 to return to factory image.
3. I presume the Blur_Version above -is- the OTA image but I cannot force it to apply
(and probably shouldn't)
4. Motorola isn't making factory images available for non-developer models.
I'd be happy to wipe it and return to factory image, but cannot find a way to get there
without downloading the factory images from stashed places I cannot seem to find.
Any advice?
You must have stock recovery and stock system to apply the ota
What system version are you at right now?
If you have root and recovery, just flash the stock xt1095 6.0 rom from the android developmemt forum...
Factory reset, install zip and that's it..
As mentioned above, you can't take ota in your situation.
