First time posting a thread.
So I have my HTC One here, rooted, bootloader unlocked, installed Cyanogenmod 11, but it is SIMLOCKED.
I tried T-mobile support, and out of three times that I requested the unlock code from them they only sent me the unlock code once AND IT FAILED
I tried the Ultimate Simlock Code Generator 2.1 and it just didn't respond after I complete the survey before it is supposed to give me the download link.
I tried to find the UN_lock_code with this method from another thread:
To find your SIM UNLOCK CODE you need:
1) Root
2) Android Terminal Emulator (free from the market)
3) Your IMEI number (dial *#06# on your dialler)
There are 4 steps to the process:
1) Obtain your UN_lock_code from your phone
2) Calculate the key from your IMEI number
3) Subtract (2) from (1)
4) Unlock your phone
Step 1
Obtain your UN_lock_code from your phone as follows:
Open the Terminal Emulator app and type:
su [enter]
strings -n 8 /dev/block/mmcblk0p6 [enter]
It will output several lines of data (including your IMEI number)
One of the lines will be [eg] UN_Lock_code=063312345
Make a note of this number (This is NOT your SIM unlock code)!
Step 2
Make a key from your IMEI number:
a) Write down the last 7 digits of your IMEI number in this format: 1234 567
b) Reverse the 2 blocks: 567 1234
c) Add a 4th digit X: 567 X 1234 where:
X = the sum of the first 3 digits (If the sum is 2 digits, write only the 2nd digit)
[5 + 6 + 7 = 18 in the example above so X = 8]
[if the sum is 3, X = 3]
[if the sum is 17, X = 7]
[if the sum is 25, X = 5] etc.
Using the above IMEI number we get:
567 8 1234 (= the key)
Step 3
Perform a simple sum.
UN_Lock_code [step 1] – key [step 2] = SIM UNLOCK CODE
e.g. 063312345 - 56781234 = 6 531 111
This needs to be an 8-digit number, so add a zero at the beginning if necessary
YOUR SIM UNLOCK CODE IS: 0653 1111

But I got stuck on the first step already because I couldn't even find where the UN_lock_code in the lines of data.
I looked up everywhere else and the rest of the internet just told me to pay to unlock from some random apps on Google Play Store.
I am in Taiwan now so some of the T-Mobile support pages aren't even reachable (error 500), not to mention going to a T-Mobile store.
So what is my best bet now? Is it because I have Cyanogenmod 11? Are there any other ways to unlock the simlock? Or should I just pay for it and get over with this quickly?
Thank you in advance!!

Do you mean any rom with sense 5.0 and Android 4.2?
I'm not sure how many times I've already tried and failed to enter the correct unlock code, so I have few chances of error.
I just flashed the android revolution stock odex. Will this work?

Hello,
Few days ago i bought HTC At&t Tilt/8925 in USA. Now i'm at home in europe and need to unLock it.
Also find in Ebay lots, where people who have access to some databases sell "UNLOCK Code For *At&t/Cingular* Tilt/8925", but they need IMEI code of phone at first.
So my question is how to find IMEI phone on locked phone?
As i know i must type "*#06#", but how can i do it, if the only sreen that i can view is
Network is locked, please input unlock code.
To make an emergency call, type the emeregency number and tap emergency
And field under that, where i must type unlock code?

So where i must type "*#06#"? in the that field and click ok? I'm afraid, that phone can understand that it's unlock code (and as i know i cann't type more than 5 wrong codes )
Any advice will be appreciated
remove the battery and it should be listed on the phone.
Or type *#06# in your phone dailer .

really
thx
there are 3 codes:
P/n
IMEI
S/N
Waw .. thanks ... so it's the right IMEI code?
Btw, need you advice , does unclocking phone with just codes (as on ebay) work really?
A check this guys have nice rating, but as you know sometimes, just ratings don't mean anything.
Once again, thank you ChumleyEX !
Normally you are able to get a code from at&t to unlock it so I would pay for anything. Also I think you can use a method from this site to unlock.
I'm not sure if you're able to call at&t, but if you can, just call them and tell them you are traveling over seas and you need to unlock it.

Note for WM6.1 users
================
Do not try this on 6.1! You will need to downgrade to 6.0
REMOVE YOUR SIM CARD!
That will stop the "Network Lock" Message from displaying.
Then you can get your IMEI from the Device Information Page or actually get into Windows Mobile and be able to use the Unlocker found here in the forums.

Hi,
Does anyone know how to re-lock the SIM on Captivate? I need to reload the stock ROM and lock the SIM for warranty replacement of my phone.
Thanks in advance.
I believe once you reload the stock ROM, say using Odin one-click to JF6, your phone will be SIM locked again.
Again, I believe this is the reason why they recommend you write down your unlock code, because you'll have to go through the unlock process with every flash.
Thanks for your input but unfortunately once it's unlocked it will stay unlocked. I tried it many times myself flashing the 1-click Odin stock ROM.
I wrote down the unlock code. I actually just found this on a website but I am not sure if this will work. Wondering if anyone ever tried it...
*#7465625# = Check the phone lock status
*7465625*638*Code# = Enables Network lock
*7465625*746*Code# = Enables SIM lock
If I remember correctly, I believe I need to enable the Network lock....

After you get the NCK code using the method above, enter: *7465625*638*#
There will be a pop-up box.
Complete the first field (MCC/MNC) with the network you want your phone locked to (eg. 226 10 where 226 = romania; 10 = orange etc.) and the second field (Control Key) with the NCK extracted from the .bak file.
Press OK and your phone should relock.

Thanks for the info, my SXL is already unlocked, but following this pattern i will look into the phone to find the partition we use, and will post here my findings and you can test the solution.

Using this
Code:
strings -n 8 /dev/block/mmcblk0p7
you will find the same things as you find in this thread.
Personally i got the CID, some code, the IMEI and other stuff under it, so i believe the thing above the IMEI should be the unlocking code, but not it is made from 8 digits and should not be the one that starts with lots of 000 (i got that too )
I would apreciate if you could provide a screenshot, as i have an unlocked phone and it could be different at you.

Note that i'm using the ICS Radio and .28 Hboot, don't know if things are different on other Radion or Hboot versions, but i just wanted to put it here
Ok, thanks.
I tryed this:
strings -n 8 /dev/block/mmcblk0p7
and i actually got the 8 digit code above the imei, but first 5 digits are 0, don't know if i should try that code. Here is screenshot.

Have you tried a different SIM since you S-OFF'ed your device? It seems that on some device, the device becomes sim-unlocked when you S-OFF it.
Yes i tried it, and i tried it again just now, it is sim-locked.
I tried this:
sh /sdcard/simfinder.sh
in the link you posted, and got bounch of 8 digits numbers from mmcblk0p29. Maybe there is unlock code, but which one?
Maybe I have to be in stock rom to find unlock code, or it doesn't matter?

Problem is I don't think you can find the code unless your device is locked to a specific carrier.

I am locked to carrier, maybe we can compare some data from mmc?
Strange thing happened today, when i try the other sim card and restart the phone, don't got message "network is locked" and dialpad to enter the code, instead got locked screen, in status bar no network, but when tried to unlock the screen it was unresponsive! So, no screen and soft buttons are working, only power and volume button does, and i can't unlock screen and can't use phone in any way. When i remove that sim and put the one from my carrier or no sim at all, everything back to normal, i tried that couple of times. Just to mention, i DID NOT enter any unlock code ever, just to try. Why that happened?
EDIT: just flash another rom and it is ok, got the "enter unlock code" screen.
I bought unlock code online from trusted source, but doesn't work. I was on aosp rom but read somewhere that you must be on sense rom to accept the code. So i flash some sense rom, not working again. Then i tried ics stock rooted rom, no good, then tried gb stock rooted rom, because the phone was on gb rom when it's locked, no good. Then i found somewhere that some other devices accepted the code when you flash different radio, so i tried that, no good either. Then i relocked bootloader and flash gb ruu, no good, then flash ics ruu, guess what, no good. I tried everything but the code seems to be false.

Yes, i mean the stock rom the phone came with from factory, basically that must be the rom that was on the phone when it is locked.

I have a HTC raider that is locked to bell (a Canadian carrier). Android version is 4.0.3 and software number is 3.38.666.2.
I found some videos on YouTube that show you how to unlock using a code that you buy online so I did that and got a code. I entered this code when prompted and it accepted the code but it didn't unlock the phone. Also it seems that the phone will accept any random 8 digit code but it will not unlock it. Like it will say successfully unlocked from network with any random 8 digit code but when the phone reboots it asks for the code again. The same thing happens with code that I purchased online.
My first question is that the raider on the youtube video asks for "SIM unlock pin" but my phone asks for "IMSI unlock pin", so what is the difference?
Second question is why does the phone accept any random 8 digit code when none of them work? Can my phone even be unlocked with a code?
Third question is are there any other ways to unlock it, like how jailbreaking on iphone you can unlock it via software; is there something like this for the raider. Is rooting a similar thing?
Finally I tried this but it did not work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1681145
On HBOOT it says S-OFF but on the top it says "locked" and read out was exactly the same as in that post.
Please help.
Ok, so I finally got the bootloader unlocked and its S-OFF and the phone is rooted (I followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343625) . Now I'm under the assumption that I need to install a stock or custom rom and my phone will be unlocked? Am I correct in this assumption or is there more to it?
There is somewhere in the dev forum a thread dedicated to sim unlocking the raider via a flashable zip. You have to enter your imei into a website and they email a zip back to you. No idea if the thread is still alive tho, but I have used it to successfully sim unlock 3 of these. For the record I was then and am still using wcx recovery.

I thought AT&T unlocked phones if you requested it due to that law that was put into effect for global capable phones?
I don't know how to do that process and I have another moto X from AT&T which I unlocked by buying the unlock code on a page.
very often its not working because custom ROM or custom baseband flashed, so please make sure that your phone is completely stock
its completely i updated by OTA to 4.4.4
First, you can try -> https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/?#/ it appears by the conditions that even NON-ATT customers can request the SIM/Carrier unlock code now.
Also, there was discussion about some SIM or Carrier Unlock codes not working on devices with a particular series of IMEI numbers... I don't know the specifics because I don't have an ATT X. See -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/sim-unlock-moto-x-gens-t3011662 and start around Post #21 for more details, and more importantly post #31 of that thread for a possible resolution.
And be careful, I'm not sure how many attempts you get to enter the SIM/Carrier unlock code.
i try here https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/?#/ but dont work cuz said me: "Error: We found no record of the IMEI Number you entered. Check your device's 15-digit IMEI Number by dialing *#06# (errorCode.ULP2003)"

That's SIM unlock, not bootloader.
There's no official support from anyone on either side, AT&T or Motorola, for unlocking the bootloader on the XT1058. In fact if you call them and ask, they'll just tell you "no".
Furthermore, even senior developers for the platform like jcase have said that unlocking the bootloader on the XT1058 running KitKat 4.4.4 is more-or-less impossible (at the moment).

Was your subject line ATTN: Donald Hicks - Global Leader Service Operations as stated in that post?
Did HE reply? or someone from Moto support? Did they explain why they can't help?
This:
Hello Starling,
Thank you for contacting Motorola. Unfortunately, as SIM issues are largely carrier-related, the spectrum of assistance we have to offer on the manufacturer's side of things is rather limited. When trying to use the subsidy unlock code to unlock your device, are you trying this with the new SIM card or the old one in your device? You should input the subsidy unlock code with the new SIM card if you have not already done so and try it again. If you have reset the device and you're still experiencing the issue, you will likely need to contact AT&T about this issue and they can look into things more fully on their end. The IMEI of your device shows as valid in our system, so if AT&T is having an issue with it, that would be on their end and you would also need to contact them about that. If you would be more comfortable with it, either a member of our tech support team or myself could reach out to you and make a conference call with AT&T to get this resolved for you as well.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed and I will assist you to the best of my ability.
Thank you for choosing Motorola and have a great day!
Cas
