Xiaomi Mi Key/MiClick - Pressy Clone - One (M8) Accessories

I ordered 2 Xiaomi Mi Keys/MiClicks from TinyDeal and received them yesterday. They work great. They are basically little plugs that add an extra hardware button to your phone by using your headphone jack, but don't really disrupt any functions of your phone.
I have found that Hello KlicK from the Play Store works the best for my needs so far.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.helloklick.android
I am going to keep doing some research because I would really like the button to enable/disable Expanded Desktop. But, for now, I have single click set to Open App: Nova Launcher, and that allows me to skip the lockscreen and go right to my home screen. Double Click to Open App: Camera, and triple click to Open App: Hello KlicK. A long press naturally opens Google Voice Search even without Hello KlicK installed, so I left that option alone.
I was just wondering if anyone else had any experience with one of these, and I would also be glad to answer anybody's questions about mine.

Related, i'm so please my Pressy has shipped now! Can't wait for it to arrive. Backed it from the start. I know there are these cheaper clones but the Pressy app looks pretty decent.

I would like to try the Pressy software, but I heard they have DRM so I didn't even try.

You'll like it. I think the concept needs to mature a little bit. There is a lot of potential with these little plugs. It would be pretty cool if some Xposed modules were created to allow access to the whole device, and not just be restricted to the basic software.

Look what finally arrived today!

Has anyone with a clone having a problem on HTC ONE M8 with the double click action? By default that action initiates last number redial (within the operating system not Pressy related).
Apparently Pressy are aware of the issue and are addressing it FYI.

There is new 7.6 version of Headset Button Control with bugfixed Pressy mode: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....headsetbutton
Info from author: "I just released a new version of Headset Button Controller to google play. The version 7.6 includes the pressy mode (version 7.5, which I released yesterday contained a bug) (...)
As I said I donĀ“t wont to implement such a hack for long click.
Showing a different profile icon depending on the selected profile makes sense. I will put in on my backlog (...)"

double click fix?
Would love to find a double click fix without having to use "headset button controller" I much prefer the "ikey" app for assigning functions but no matter what you assign or disable a double click calls the last contact in the call log... If I find anything I'll post back, till then it's HBC in pressy mode for me.

The Pressy team fixed that issue in their software. I can double click my Pressy now and it does whatever I programmed. I like that they managed to remove the head set icon from the notification bar too.

I wonder what they did to fix the issue? Is it just by adding an empty dial entry in the call history log?

As far as I can remember, it doesn't but I haven't got the Pressy installed at the moment so would need to check for sure.
They also managed to remove the headphone icon from the status bar too which is good. It was one of those irritating things that don't interfere with function, just a aesthetic issue.

[MOD] [WIP] Notification Power Control

Hey guys,
I came from the samsung fascinate (where i did some mods). I'm trying to get the power control mod notification menu for the droid x working. I could use some help, i messaged JsChiSurf to get some more info; but if anyone is already working on this here, and would like to collaborate please send me a message.
Thanks

i had the captivate and i miss those things too but i found a program called power control plus. It does the same thing but once you set the toggles your cant delete them unless u uninstall the whole program and reinstall

The true power menu like what comes on the Galaxy phones is MUCH more elegant than that.
I came from a Captivate and I miss it bad. I still pull the notification bar down out of habit to toggle different things.
I will be watching this.
Quick Settings is pretty good too and its free. Maybe not as nice as the one on GS phones.

BTW I will simply be backporting CVPCS's implementation, its tricky as hell though to backport

I use an app called "Extended Controls"... it is very similar, but after trying both I found it to be a bit better (more features overall, but color selection on indicators is limited)
Extended Controls /=/ Notification Power Control
I use Extended Controls as well but it is *not* the same thing as what is being requested in this thread. A mod like this already exists on the EVO and DInc...and it is quite handy (plus it frees up some space on your screen.
Hope this gets worked out for the X b/c I'm sure waiting for it...patiently/impatiently

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe the reason why Cyanogen isn't on the DX is because of the inability to load custom kernels onto the DX.
ohh I didn't know anything about that but it would make sense.. that's kind of a bummer.. it'd be nice to see the lockscreen with the messaging and phone slide tab as well

Maybe I'm not understanding something, but how do you get the Power Control widget into the notification pulldown?

Little things 4.4 has that you've always wanted stock

I'll start...
T9 dialer, I noticed the other day I don't have to scroll through a list of thousands of contacts or search names, I can just open the dialer press 726 and Ramiro shows as the contact. Or 666 and Mom is who I see. 262 gets me Amanda. Etc. This is something I've been waiting for Google to implement since I got into android, so fairly exciting.
What else have you guys found?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Last check 4.3 and i think even 4.2 had the smart dialer (T9). I guess i don't have "thousands" of contacts in my phone so maybe that's why i didn't really need/use it.
They have upped the ante massively with voice recognition and particularly voice search with it being in my opinion the killer feature of 4.4. Google now while improved is still an annoying intrusion that I disabled after a day. I disliked it immediately but like to give these things a little time to see if they grow on me. The GEL is an embarrassing failure in my opinion and someone should lose their job for thinking it would be a good idea to fix the search bar on any screen let alone all of them. I know 2 others now with the N5 and we all kicked the launcher to the curb in short order.
One thing that I've seen little talk of is the stock dialer. I'm not actually sure if it's kit Kat or Google? I expected to dislike it but I actually like it and have continued to use it. It has some flaws like not searching the call log but the ability to start typing in the name of a local place and have it's number pop up before you can finish is very useful and if it wasn't for the amazing voice search (which also works in the dialer) I would probably list the dialer as the single best stock feature.

Voice control and specifically sending a txt msg completely by voice gets my vote.

IT's a 4.4 feature for google maps. You Double Click, but on the second click keep your finger on the screen and slide up or down to zoom in or out. it's a neat addition, more convenient to be exact, but nothing to special.

Useable Keyboard?

Hey guys,
did someone of you already installed a keyboard on his/her G Watch R?
Just installed Minuum but it's not really usable on round smartwatches^^ Read something about developing a special Minuum version for round displays, but it's not finished until now.
Does anyone knows an alternative?
Btw. you don't have du enable ADB via Blutooth. Just connect the charging plate to your PC and enable ADB Debugging in Developer Settings (Settings --> About --> Tap 7 times on the build number to enable developer settings).
Also you should update your adb driver! Otherwise you will stuck in an offline device for adb :/

I talked to the Minuum keyboard developer and he told me he ordered yesterday the LG G Watch R, and he is planning to update his keyboard for rounded screen.
He is from Canada just like me, so it will probably take a week before it ships (took me 5 days from UK to Canada in my case by DHL Express.)

Tried latest Minuum Keyboard 2.15.1 and it was a tiny better than old v2.8 APK I had found somewhere in the forum.
If you're willing to try it, you will need to run these speps :
adb install minuum_keyboard.apk
adb shell ime enable com.whirlscape.minuumkeyboard/com.whirlscape.minuum.MinuumKeyboardService
adb shell ime set com.whirlscape.minuumkeyboard/com.whirlscape.minuum.MinuumKeyboardService
We have all letter on the Big keyboard but some are still cut on the small keyboard. Better than nothing I guess.

[REQUEST]Virtual Home - Use your touch ID as a home button

Hi guys [emoji4]
Now that exposed is available for our s6, i would like to have an app that allows to go home tapping the button instead of pressing it... Is it possible to have something like that? I mean something like double tap of iPhone 6 plus.
Thanks to all devs
My thoughts exactly!!
I would love to have something like that, so you don't actually need to press the home button, but just touch it!
But wouldn't that interfer with the fingerprint? When you touch the sensor to unlock or anything similar the touch would brng you back to your homescreen.

I don't really know.. But I know there is an Jailbreak tweak out for the iPhones, that simulates exactly what I am looking for.
Here is the link for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzUoMUFVYVE
I've had many Samsung phones before, and after a while my home button always started to make funny noises (like cracking a bit, or not being sturdy anymore..)
I know that S6 home button is high quality and all that, but I would still prefer "simulated" press on the home button.
And I am sure that it can be done, it just takes someone who knows how to do it, and wants it as much as I / we do.
Maybe the OP should change the name of the thread to "Virtual Home - Use your touch ID as a home button" So more people could see it.
That being said, I would also like to know if there is any xposed module out to change the animation of unlocking on the lockscreen... Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRMF6CQAdEQ (Ken Dai Video).. So you could put the fingerprint icon on the lockscreen, and it would make a similar effect..
Maybe I am just "shooting to the moon" but I sure hope it can be done! I think everything is possible, as long as it interest the right people..
Also I am wondering if it's possible to set pattern unlock like for the OnePlus 2.

(I know there is a code right here, but I saw it in a video that you can use fingerprint + pattern unlock)
And I sure do hope that someone, someday will be able to port stock Android M to our device as it will have native fingerprint support!
Cheers!

No worries man! I just hope someone has the same wish as us, and makes it happen
will be great if the phone can be unlocked when you put your finger on home button without need to press it before that
and ofcourse to unlock only with the selected fingers
to prevent unwanted unlocks

dude, you are replying to a thread that's been dead for like 1 year

Reorder your navigation buttons - Sammy style and more

No More Updates
I no longer have this phone. We weren't meant to be together. Anyway. No more updates or new configurations. Eventually ill even pull down the links. They are a waste of dropbox space for me now. Good luck everyone.
Description:
I dont buy into the whole xposed framework fluff. I like the old fashion way. If you want your navigation buttons ordered like a Sammy phone and dont do xposed either, this simple mod is for you.

Additional Info:
I can make other combos including one with a dedicated menu button and possibly a search button. Let me know if you want any of these combos.
These zips flash a new SystemUI.apk. Any modifications have done to yours (you would know if you did) will be gone. This is simply the stock apk modified with the indicated button order.

Thanks to @Spasticdroid for the excellent updater script
Hey thanks for this add. I'd love to have one with the menu button. So Recent, Menu, Home, Back. If you could make this that would be incredible. Much appreciated for your contributions sir.

This worked perfectly, thanks.
I have been looking for how to do this! I downloaded the file (recent-home-back) but I'm unsure where to go from here and how to get this to work. Any help would be great.
What would be great is like my LG G3 which was Recent - Home - Back - Notification panel

You flash the zip in twrp.
I don't think I can help with the notification button. It's a bit beyond my capabilities right now.

I'm still working on this. The hold up is SustemUI.apk needs to be deodexed so I can modify smali files. Once that is done it won't take long to sort out the buttons.

Many may consider this trival. I'm not one of them. This should be standard on all phones stock. Appreciate it greatly.

I hate the way that Samsung orders their buttons. Lol. But I like to tinker with these things. I started doing this with the Galaxy S3 because of the stupid capacitive keys and the retarded button order.

I couldn't agree with you more. Maybe we're in minority, but damn did I find it aggravating as s^*t. I would have given this phone up because of this one issue over battery. Thanks to someone directing me to your link I don't have to. And no xposed to boot? Classic.

They show up for me on both the browser and tapatalk. I even cleared the image cache on my desktop browser. I'm not sure what the problem you are having.
