and how about if you don't have a samsung device? I'd like to try to mess around with it a bit, try to get it working with a non-samsung machine

Interesting. I installed the app on my HTC one running omj rom. And everything works except for svoice. Just turn off the hardware keyboad function so you can text. Awesome

Hi, so you have the watch workin with the Htc one and everything works except s voice, im very interested as i have the Htc one, you can talk on the watch and get all notifications etc? Thanks in advance.

Installed the app on HTC One with official 4.2.2 and tried to connect to the Gear. There seems to be a control mechanism that kills the connection. It says on screen for a second that it was connected, but then a message pops up stating smth like "validation check failed".
Can someone who has access to both devices give it a try?

I think you must have Android 4.3 to support Bluetooth 4.0 profile.

I have the Note 3 but have not got the gear yet.
I downloaded the gear manager app but cannot open it.
When I try to open it, it tries to connect to the watch but all I get is message "device not found".
How did you guys manage to open the Gear Manager app?

So with 4.1.2 omj ROM you CAN conect the Gear with the HTC One, whereas with the official 4.2.2 you cannot.
Have you tried to install the s-voice app (from GS3 i think should be the one that works) and see if the watch can do s-voice?

I tried pairing the watch with a Nexus 7 tablet running AOKP JB_MR1 4.2.1 and no-go. I tried a Galaxy Nexus running CM 10.1.0-RC2 4.2.2 also a no-go. Both devices prompt an error message that says device not supported.

This application required Samsung libraries to be present.
All gear apps that work for phones other than Note 3, will work even without gear manager installed. All you need just initiate your gear with Samsung phone, that pair with phone you want to use it with. But all you can do without note 3 is just calling functions, pedometer ( not phone related ant all), etc. Notifications won't work, you won't be able to install any additional apps....

Dear friends I have a problem , I updated lollipop version my Note 3 everything ıts ok but Gear manager doesnt work

It's the latest one in Galaxy Apps, so install Galaxy Apps and search for Gear Manager.
I don't have the APK for it, sorry

its normal friend , because , Gearmanager not working in lolipop I think Gearmanager need ART update because Lolipop use ART system
so we have been waiting for gearmanager lollipop update

Can you please backup Gear Manager files from your phone using es explorer and upload them?

Luckily I back up everything I download, so I have all the APK files available.

You guys have to figure out yourselfs which files you need, because on my S5 the correct files are downloaded automatically.
So I don't exactly know which files you need.
The version numbering is also intact, so it shouldn't be any problem.

Try again, I created a folder and changed the MEGA link to that new folder.

Now Samsung Roll Out "Official" Gear Manager for Lollipop (I've get update via Samsung App / Galaxy Store) tested with Gear 1 Gen and all Notification work.. :highfive: :victory:

Hi, The leaked version of Lollipop for Note 3 does not support the new Gear Manager (Tizen O/S)
If you have Gear 1 (SM-V700) then you can downgrade your smart watch back to the original Android firmware (this will work with the old gear manager on your note 3)
If you have upgraded your Gear 1 to Tizen or if you have Gear 2, then will will have 3 options
1) Put your Gear in your draw and wait for the official Lollipop release with Gear Manager support for Tizen
2) Downgrade Lollipop back to Kitkat
3) Downgrade your Gear 1 back to Android (you cannot down grade Gear 2)
After having the same problems as you, I have successfully downgraded my Gear 1 back to Android, and everything is now working fine.

It has been removed unfortunately. However, your best best to do this task would be with optical reader.

Look for camera modules that can be downloaded from the more setting in camera...may be it's there

On my N920C I was on the same boat on stock firmware but I found a workaround, I extracted the SmartClipService.apk (it's the Smart Select option) from an updated rom and it works! I choose Smart Select, I choose a texte then share to the clipboard in full text only or share to Snote and you can edit the text.
For those who want see in attachment for the apk, replace the existing one in /system/app/SmartClipService, set the correct permission (rw-r--r--) and if you are on an odexed rom delete the arm64 folder, reboot in recovery, wipe Dalvik-Cache and you should be good to go.
Maybe make a Nandroid backup before replacing the file, I'm not responsible if something goes wrong...

Hi,
If it's about my post then yes you need root.
The nice thing I noted is that when you click on the "T" after the smart select you can directly copy / paste the text or only a part of the text, like in the first screenshot at the bottom part. I mean I can choose only the word "connexion" for example and copy / paste it without the use of the share option.
It's a shame that the last update for my N920C doesn't have this update... and it's needed to do the thing with the apk from another firmware...

Maybe it's better explained like this :

yes, i'm also on 920c and i really miss this feature...but i'm not allowed to root my phone. Hope they will add it in the next 920c firmware

Yes it works, but you must have root... Otherwise you will need to wait for an "official" firmware update for your model, maybe the feature will comee back.

[SIMPLE] [GUIDE] Fix for FingerPrint in Any Note 7 Port ROM for Note 4

FOLLOW THE TUTORIAL AND FLASH THE ZIP-FILE BELLOW TO GET THE MISSING FINGERPRINT OPTION AND REGISTER YOUR FINGERPRINT TO USE THIRD-PARTY LOCKSCREEN APPS
Here you go....
1... with root explorer go to system > priv-app > secsettings2 and copy and save the 'secsettings2.apk' to a safe location in your phone storage.
2... flash the fingerprint-fix zip in twrp and reboot.
3... go to settings and open 'finger scanner' and register your fingerprint as usual.
(Note! Do not select fingerprint as your lock-screen option..... just register only)
4... with 'root explorer' or any other root file manager, go to system > priv-app > secsettings2 and replace the secsettings2.apk with the one you previously backed up, or extracted from your current rom-zip. Remember to set up permissions correctly after replacement. (0644 rw-r--r--)
5... reboot your device and with 'titanium backup' locate the app [settings 6.0.1 (WALLPAPER/SETTINGS)] and wipe the data in titanium backup.
(Note! ignore any settings error message that may pop up while you do this)
6... now go to your phone settings > lock screen and choose 'NONE' for your lock-screen option. Install any third-party fingerprint capable lock-screen app of your choice and you are good to go.
7... remember to hit the thanks button.

when you open Titanium backup there is 3 tab. Overview, Backup/Restore and Schedule. Choose Backup/Restore and scroll down till you find Settings 6.0.1 (WALLPAPER/SETTINGS) tap and it will take you to where you choose wipe data below UN-INSTALL!.

I believe that the instructions are clear, but am willing to help you more if you specify the part or parts you don't understand.
Flashing the file will bring back the 'MISSING' "finger scanner" in most recent note7 port ROM for note4.

Yes you can use all the free one as long you know how to use it. most people uses ES File explorer. as long you're rooted you can explore system file using file manager.

Any root explorer can do, provided you set permissions of the "SecSettings2.apk" correctly.

I wonder why only one person has found it necessary to hit the 'thanks' button. It's seems this post is not helpful to most of you guys.

Here u go install it as normal apk but if it says package conflicts then u need a factory reset then install this apk

I used APK updater from XDA labs and updated to latest version of touchwiz but it is now called Samsung experience home and normal the new touchwiz APK wouldn't install due to it sharing the same name and they would conflict but this time it installed because it has a different name so hope this helps in some way.

I used APK updater from XDA labs and updated to latest version of touchwiz but it is now called Samsung experience home and normal the new touchwiz APK wouldn't install due to it sharing the same name and they would conflict but this time it installed because it has a different name so hope this helps in some way.

Well I have Samsung experience home on phone but if I was you I would look for the most recent one because you will probably end up with the same problem as the touch Wiz update where the appps conflict due to them having the same name so you will only have the one shot of getting it on your phone

S9 messages app stopping on s6
I installed the messages app on s6...and cleared its data...buy whenever i tap on the messages in the app the app stops...any fix???

I installed the s9 messages app on s6..and cleared its data...but whenever i try to open the texts in app it stops....any fix??

Did you reboot phone after installing you might want to try this first.

missing sth I guess, stock S6 rom running Android 7 but still stuck in TouchWiz base. S7, S8 used to be in Android 7 have the new Samsung Experience base. S6 using Ultimate Nougat (base on S8, so it works) here running Samsung Experience 8, install that without f/c
